Once again Sonic the Hedgehog saves South Island and the animals from the hands of Dr. Robotnik, Sonic the Hedgehog returned to green hill with the emeralds after the emeralds left sonic and restored green hill they are successful, but ... soon Dr. Robotnik comes to green hill all messed up with the egg mobile Dr. Robotnik wanted a second round sonic quickly chasing Dr. Robotnik, sonic has a new adventure to rescue South Island and the animals from the evil Dr. Robotnik.
8 bit sonic the hedgehog has been converted to 16 bit this fangame / project is embedded in the 8 bit sonic 1 being developed by Laiker Dreemurr Using the Flicky Engine

Seems someone other than me thought those Special Stages that the SMS/GG version of Sonic 1 had would've been a good fit for getting the Chaos Emeralds. Hell it would've made the Genesis version a lot more bearable than those acid trip rotating mazes.
I agree, but I also prefer them being in the levels where you actually have to find them.

Who is Eggman? In Sonic 1 and 2 there was no Eggman. It was Dr. Robotnik. So glad Jim Carrey was Dr. Robotnik again. The Eggman period was weird.

It should still be a balance between being the game on genesis and recreating as much of the game as possible; a little development and deviation cannot be avoided, but can help if handled or executed properly.

I was just thinking how nice it would be to see the 8 Bit exclusives up-ported to 16 bit and this is pretty much the same thing only for the 1st game not the later ones - it's really cool though.
If SEGA had the ball and the brains to do this themselves and slap it on a disc they surely have a hit on their hands and the lack of love of 8 Bt SEGA games on compilations always saddens me.
Games like Master of Darkness are really good games as are a lot of the unique platformers - especially the ones made late in the machines life where they were showing more graphical prowess than an NES game that would have been initially rivalling the machine at first.
Despite missing all bosses and the bugs with the music of bonus stages, amazing recreation of 8-Bit Sonic 1

Seems like a lot of effort was put into this, it looks like a real genesis game. A better 8-bit sonic game remake of sonic 1 than the sonic 2 counterpart.
Ah Jungle Zone, how awesome you look in 16 bit. Jungle Zone is my favorite Sonic zone of all time.
I wish the one from Sonic Jump 2012 would be an actual playable zone in a normal sonic game, its awesome. Though the 8Bit Sonic 1 level is good too

Not bad for a demo to be sure. Even corrected an error that was present in the original SMS/GG version. Said error being Sky Base Act 1's BGM. Original game had Scrap Brain Zone's music and the one who worked on this demo fixed that. Bosses being absent was a bit of a shocker but it was for the best due to needing to get the mechanics dealt with first. Also need to fix the transition between Special Stage music and the screen that comes up after getting a Chaos Emerald. Also need to restore that shortcut in Sky Base Zone Act 2 that let's you pretty much cheese the entire level by skipping most of the danger and leaving your only concern being the cannons.
When he gets an emerald it reminds me of sonic triple trouble 💎
I always felt the 8-bit versions' music of Labyrinth zone was more fitting: a sense of despair and claustrophobia. Here we see what it could have been
This is so great. I can't wait until it's finished. I hope someone makes Sonic 2 SMS/GG 16 bit, Sonic Chaos 16 bit, and Sonic Blast 16 bit. That Sonic Mania mod version of Sonic Chaos doesn't count. It should be more like Sonic Triple Trouble 16 Bit.
This is what origins plus should've had 16 bit remakes of the master system and game gear games with quality of life improvements

This is pretty cool, wondering if the creator ever finished it and added the bosses? besides that and 1-2 tiny things on Lab and Scrap, its pretty flawless! The Scrap music could be tweaked for sure, I definitely didnt like the tone on it, and I love the 8bit scrap music but, just not the best choice

Never ever in my life, did I ever think that Sonic for the game gear was a remake of the 16-bit version. I always thought it was a side sequel and that's the way I've always thought since the day I played it when I was a kid. Because how the chaos emeralds were portrayed as being scattered from here to there.
The sonic 16 bit remake looks like the 8bit version and it's so cool.

Although I’d also be happy with the og sonic 3nk music, save files, the classic mode to be actual ports of the game instead of anniversary mode in 4:3 and an option to play with lives instead of coins

Sonic 1 from the Sega Master system from 8 bit to 16 bit graphics,See adifference in the graphics,Ive downloaded the Sega Emulator,Loads of Sega games,Got tons of Sega on the gaming computer lol Loads of modified Sonic games as well,This goes back 30 odd years ago when I had all the Sega consoles,Now days,Get them all on the gaming computer at 0 cost,Back in the days it costed quite a bit,Shows how much times have changed over the years

The Master System version of Sonic is arguably considered by many to be the true definitive version of the original Sonic in all but FM and pixel texturing, the Mega Driver version was arguably really just more of a graphical showcase of the original to show what the Mark V (Mega Drive/Genesis) could do as it just happened to be coming while Sonic 1 was still being developed internally in the 80s in Sega when the Master System was currently still out. Yuzo Koshiro handled the entirety of SEGA's 8-Bit Master System version of the first ever Sonic game on the first ever universal Sega home console (which was basically just a souped up definitive SG-1000), which many people actually prefer over the Mega Drive/Genesis companion title.
The Master System original which was handled by Sega's 'Ancient' studio - which was run by Yuzo Koshiro and his mother and sister, it retains some of Sonic's original concept that was scrapped from the Mega Drive version to appease the Yank Doodle Yankee market in the USA (though the Master System was never big in the USA and it's earliest iteration (the SG-1000) was never even released in the USA either.
The Master System version also didn't scrap as much of the original design of the game, like the scrapping of the fact he was also a part-time musician (which you can see during the credits), as well as the island's full map, the different zones which were never in the Mega Drive version (which only had 6 zones which were split between 3 acts to increase the scope of each zone).

Very nice fan game. But i think the emerald are too easy to get. The levels are short and where are the eggman boss? I know it's demo, hope the final version will correct all that.

The 8-bit levels are all short, so that's just being accurate to the source, really.
As far as no Eggman bosses goes, if the creator is using the same version of the Flicky 8 engine that I've been playing around with, then he's not getting any of the relevant bosses for free, he has to program them all from scratch, and he probably hasn't gotten around to that yet.

I liked what you did, but in the first level you put the background Mega Drive version, I preferred the original with improvements.

Yeah but it has some limitations and its a bit of a pain adding these new extra features there
This Should Be Called "Sonic the Hedgehog: Director's Cut" And Have All The Bosses With Android & IOS Ports With An Add-ons Feature Like In Sonic 3 A.I.R also have a game mode like the romhack "robotniks revenge" where you can play all the boss fights also tails and knuckles with 3 player with local co-op where you pair your devices like in sonic sms remake
