    Big thank you for this video, I was struggling to even find the battery! Will be fitting a new one this week, hope the car starts as normal then! Cheers from Leeds. Martyn. X

      Thanks for your kind message Martin and glad the video helped. I would suggest paying up for a battery direct from Toyota main dealer. I think at the moment they cost around £149 from Toyota. All the best.👍

    Is there a hose that releases the hydrogen gas to under the car?
    Did you remove the left plug and insert one on the right side of the battery?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No the vent plug is on the same side it depends which way you're looking at the battery.

    Hello,
    Thanks a lot!
    Question : i haven't been able to pull up the back seat.Could find how to unlock the metalic part from the white plastic that we can see in your video at 1 minute 46. Any idea ?

      @@remy4176 give the seat base a good pull up and seat should pull up. It's on there relatively tight so a little bit of force required but on mine not too excessive was required and it came up

    Thanks for this video! We just bought a Yaris 1.5 hybrid and was wondering where the 12V battery was! Am I correct in assuming this toyota is just as their other hybrid vehicles with discharging the 12V when you are on a long (4 to 8 weeks) holiday? Do you know of an easier way to prevent it other than disconnecting the 12V battery? I am not in favor leaving my ctek charger on unattended. I noticed under the hood there is a red connection point where you can connect an auxiliary battery, maybe it is possible to disconnect the 12V battery at that point somehow?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Peter-Alexander yes they do discharge quite quickly Vs old school ice set up. that connection under the bonnet is to enable you to jump start it. I personally wouldn't (as you say) leave it on a treacle charger unattended for that length of time. If I know it'll be left for long time then I personally would just disconnect the negative terminal or when you come back just jump start it...albeit these smaller capacity batteries..once they drain it is really difficult to get them to recharge and operate optimally like before

      @@sutsi Thanks for your reply! I agree with you. Maybe it is a thought to create a switch (e.g. behind the backseat in the trunk) where you can easily switch it off. With a cable of sufficient diameter that is not so difficult I think. As you said, it is better to prevent a complete discharge.

      @@sutsiI have a Toyota Vitz hybrid. One day battery was fine and showing no signs of being on its way out. then within a few days Battery seems to have gone fully dead, to the point where windows were stuck down. Jump pack got the dash on and I got the windows up, however the car wouldn’t start. The battery no fully dead. Will removing the battery and charging it work? Or is new battery the only hope?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@joelleonard1617 if using one of those new type lithium jump packs...they provide only a few seconds power and I find it hard to start. So I suggest in those instances..get someone to help you. Get them to press the boost button and you sit in the car and quickly press the start button. If you have one of the old school heavy power pack type jump packs they work differently in that they give constant power so you should be able to jump start on your own
      Either way, if your battery keeps going after a few days...I would recommend changing your battery. These little batteries once they deplete they don't recover properly. Good luck 🤞

      I would recommend buying directly from your local Toyota main dealer. It's about £149 at the moment in the UK for a brand new one. Gives peace of mind and 3yr guarantee.

    Does the battery need programming?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't need to on this one. Just simply replaced the battery and it worked perfectly. Although if you do have the correct diagnostic machine it is always good practice to go into the car's onboard computer and let it know you've changed it.

    • @batistuta786

      I rang toyota and apparently if the battery isn't instantly replaced (left out for a few days) the new battery will need to be programmed.

    It looks like Toyota have messed up with their new hybrid too many people appear to be having battery problems with the 12v battery that i assume starts the engine & powers the lights etc. They don't tell people they need to be doing more higher mileage, and when people are complaining to Toyota UK they either say you need to do more miles or by a battery charger, or the solar charger. What a kop out, what's the point of buying a car to save on fuel and help the environment if you've got to make regular long journeys you don't need to make just to protect keep the battery charged. I've brought a fairly new Toyota Yaris Hybrid and am now very concerned as I'm only currently doing about 4500 miles a year. They should have kept making the normal engine only powered versions as an option for people that aren't doing regular longer journeys and been honest about it. But it appears Toyota dealers don't really care about the customers just want to sell cars and make as much profit as possible. I won't be buying any more Toyota in future, salesmen lied to me, and not just about the hybrid battery problems either

      Yes, they never tell you the fact that you need to drive more. I've purchased a used car just 3 weeks ago and I'm worse than you cause I only drive less than 3000 miles a year😅

    Leaving a 12v battery on the ground is the perfect way to discharge it and end up installing a dead battery
