The return game and blowouts early weren't slider issues really. You just had generational talent out there on KR and your offense playing against mediocre teams that _used_ to give you challenging games when GRU was mid-awful. This team had essentially the college versions of AP, Lamar Jackson, Maurkice Pouncey (your center was actually super underrated for how he was playing, elite lineman there), and a Stanford CMC at WR/RS.
The game should make it harder to find and keep players like this tho. Recruiting is far too easy in this game even with artificially making more difficult by putting in custom rules
@@dannymccray4176idk cuz realistically do we want 3 Michigan matchups a year if they play in the regular season, conference championship, and national championship I think they gotta be in the same division and that still leaves a good chance of them playing in the playoff cuz Michigan goes in with 1 loss instead of 2 a playoff game would be cooler than the B1G championship imo
RE: kickoff returns, I had a Buffalo dynasty where my offense was spread option only (no normal runs or passes). My recruiting strategy was basically just speedy WRs/athletes and athletic blocking TEs, which had a side effect of making my return team crazy overpowered - I had a couple of games like the one in this video. After a couple seasons of that, my "solution" was just to let the CPU choose my returners and to make starters ineligible for the role - it doesn't prioritize speed like players do which makes it a lot harder if the best return stats on your team belong to a player who isn't as fast. And if a guy is both fast and has good return skills, he's probably starting somewhere.
One thing I like to do that you could incorporate if you wanted, is I go person by person in coaching carousel, and when you get a new coordinator hired, it shows what playbook they use, then you switch the playbook to whatever each coordinators playbook is. Makes each season feel a little different. Unless it absolutely sucks, then you say the head coach has taken over play calling 😂
If you’re talking about the series, it’s AMAZING, and if you’re talking about Alaska, idk I don’t live there, I live on the opposite side of the country
when you do series like this in the future, you should do a little more coverage on what's happening nation wide, like notable upsets, matchups, conference championship results, etc. As much as we are rooting for the Mastodons, still very fun to see our real life teams do well. EX. #5 Michigan taking down #9 Ohio State 34-20 was just awesome to see as a Michigan, only loss of the year was to you!
Player speed threshold should be closer to 50 if you want the kickoff returns to happen less. If you don't want to do that, you can increase kick power of the CPU so they kick more touchbacks/deeper in the endzone.
I don't think GRU should leave the MAC but honestly just straight up becoming an independent might be a fun option, as you'd be able to schedule basically anyone you'd want. So you could do things like keep series against the Michigan MAC Schools, bring back the Notre Dame series (that was always a fun rivalry) and then have the flexibility to have schools on the schedule you might never play otherwise (outside of fringe playoff scenarios) like Clemson or Alabama. Plus this is (in universe) for a TV Show, so being able to schedule big name brands after winning a natty would keep ratings up.
James when the pass doesn't work- "This is why we need to stick to the run game" James when the run doesn't work- "This is why we need to stick to the pass game" For real this series is so good. Big 10 is a move but what about big12? And I feel like to simulate realism better, you could take more kneels
One thing to maybe make it more challenging and add a twist could be maybe Andrew luck or some of your coordinators getting poached by another big 10 school. Maybe Michigan? Make it a real proper rivalry. Maybe for the Zach Wilson nerf you can only be allowed one KR and PR per half? Idk. Against the bigger schools it definitely isn’t as easy but it still felt a little too easy to get really good field position. Loving this series. I eagerly await it every Friday! Loving the style, the commentary, all of it. You’re doing great.
For punt/ kick returns I have an idea, on kick offs: If the ball is going into the endzone, fair catch and start the drive at the 20 yard line, if the ball is short of the endzone, return the football. On punts: If the ball is going behind the 20 yard line, return the football. If the ball is beyond the 20 yard line, fair catch the football. You will still get returns, but limit its potential and try to keep it realistic.
Bordeaux I love watching this series it is so perfectly awesome and can never get sick of it! You are an inspiration but could you please consider the Big 12 has a bunch of new talent in it now and I’m a Kansas state fan so it would be awesome to see you compete against my wildcats. I know I’m not the only person you will look for and I get if the majority says sec or big 10 but it would be awesome for big 12
Make a Stormtrooper University. Where the school logo is a stormtrooper helmet and the team uniform resembles that if a stormtrooper. Home uniforms should be predominantly white with black accents around the joints. However there are many stormtrooper variants so feel free to get creative with the away uniforms. It may seem nerdy but I think it'll be a hit in terms of view depending how creative you can be.
Potential hot take: the return TDs are fun, and trying TOO hard to balance everything is the exact opposite of realistic. If you're building a dynastic program, it should be a dynasty. Programs like Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, etc. destroy at least a quarter of the teams they play every year.
Bordeaux: Can't have a winning record for multiple seasons Also Bordeaux: Finally gets a really solid team and changes the sliders 🤦🏿♂️ This guy is really unbelievable sometimes Lmao
A suggestion to improve the run defense; since you’re running 3 down lineman, they should be the biggest guys on the field to eat those run blocks and let the linebackers make the tackles. Even though the overall improved on the linebackers switched to de/dt, the builds of the players don’t support the scheme. Like the linebacker you moved at the end of the video has the same weight as Harold Perkins, who we can safely say will never play defensive tackle

It’s gotta be the big 10 because you’re in Michigan and because Michigan and MSU are rivals. But you should join the big 10 west ( same as Iowa, Wisconsin and such) It even seems like PSU will be a rival soon. You could even carry on the battle for that road, I forgot the name of it but it’s between between the three smaller Michigan schools. But Instead you could use MSU, Michigan and Ohio. The only other conference that could make sense is maybe the Big 12. ACC, SEC, and the pac 12 don’t make much sense geography wise. if you choose to go Into a power five conference that is. If not I’d say the American conference is the only other conference you could join. Maybe the MNW but that’s basically the MAC in NCAA. Just a little better.
I had the same issue in dynasty whenever I was in year 8 with UK. Even on Heisman, i noticed special teams seemed like an unfair advantage in my favor. I tried all kinds of different adjustments via sliders. However, i noticed that once i looked at the opponents specail teams ratings, it made sense. You don't really get a sense of an opponents specail teams rating since before games the only thing displayed is offense and defensive stats. The computer will adjust pretty well based on overall rating and you'd be surprised how many good teams have crappy special team ratings. I say run it!
The devs never really balanced kickoff returns. They always put backups on special teams so if you just don't do that you automatically have an advantage and the game just breaks when you have a high overall speed guy returning even though thats pretty much what you're supposed to do. Also I find it weird that they don't stop kicking to the high overall speed guy, NCAA does a fairly ok job of changing strategies based on what you're doing but they never stop kicking directly to the guy who already has 2 kickoff return TDs
New challenge to keep it competitive for next year Sim all kick returns and punts (even if its a big school and you need a TD) Punting the ball to the 1 and returning every kick off for a TD makes it less fun
I disagree. Good punts are awesome, and kick/punt return tds are something you can expect if you're a good team playing a small school. Hell, even some great ncaa teams have struggled on special teams to stop touchdowns.

You don't know anymore than I do what will make people keep or stop watching. I for one get very annoyed when I see people play worse on purpose or mess up on purpose to make the games closer. It's artificial. And yeah, if you had a world class kick returner in the Mac conference, there's no telling how many return td's they could get. The real problem is staying in the Mac too long.
So 30 minutes in it looks like the team is ready for a jump in conference competition. I think the best way to balance out the MAC schools low overall backups versus the better recruits the team is bringing in now is going to a conference that recruits 4 and 5 star players like the Big Ten. That way you can avoid messing with too many sliders. I may edit this comment when I finish the video though...
