I grew up in a small rural farm town in Indiana. My family are all within a 50 mile radius. Aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone. My uncle was going on vacation and had a couple thousand in cash in one of those banker bags that business use. He sat it on the roof of his car with his coffee while rearranging luggage and he forgot it. He drove home and when he realized what he done, was in a hysterical panic. We organized a search party to walk the trail he drove from the bank. About two hours into the search his wife got a phone call from the bank. Fortunately another customer found it, found the receipt with his name on it and took it back to the bank. Every dollar was still in inside the bag. And it turn out the guy who found it knew my uncle well. My uncle was the coach of his own boy's little league baseball team. I suppose there's a benefit of living in a small community. That boy went from 3rd string bench warmer to starting lineup. lol
I did on job one time building a levees extension working close to deep water. I never got use to it. Always thinking of sliding or tipping in. Good job Andersons!
Thats a nice backhoe, my buddy has a JCB and the extendahoe is backwards. So the bucket is on the inside sleeve of the stick. so to mount a thumb you can't weld on the cylinder to the stick because it slides in and out.
In the farmer world, we say a 4x4 backhoe is the Swiss Army knife of equipment. Once you have one you can’t live without it... Seems like actual backhoe work, ( trenching, etc..) is the least of its chores! Most useful tool ever!
Years ago when I worked for WSDOT we had a couple of Culvert's that were 44s they were being plugged by beavers we would get long post and I would do that exact same thing with a 6 by 6 shove it in and use it as a battering ram it worked
Hello Jeff. They are a bit restricted those centre mount backos. Anyway it should be a JCB only the best. You would probably have more chance of buying a CAT.
I've done a fair amount of work with a backhoe cat 428c and it was a very handy, you get really good at parking at just the right angle so as to reach and to dump . also when i had to i would fill the 4in1 with dirt to use as a counter balance a to help stability. 1500rpm is good for fine jobs with the hoe as it keeps the hydraulic pressure up
I run a 2020 420F2 at work and it's a POS. Demoed a 310SL and it would dig circles around the 420. The cat is unstable even with an 18" bucket on it. Unfortunately I've run british farm tractors (JCB) for the last 18 yrs which I thought were a POS but I'd rather dig with them
Looks like you have a failed inspection on that Pickup truck. And you are out cleaning out the pipes.. 😂 you know what they say about that..! Hey enjoy your day.
Check out Denny's driveshaft for all your u joint ball joint and axle shafts. It's all OEM at really reasonable prices. They usually have complete inner and outer front shafts with the u joint very reasonable compared to the usual suspects.
he can't see good like that, it would be better to get the junk farther away, he was trying not to damage the pipes or concrete as they are really really old. and needed to see good so as not to let any big stuff go into the pipe and clog another one
woulda been better off setting up almost paralll to the bridge, outrigger on the edge, swing off the side to grab, then can reach teh other side of the bridge deck.. or at a minimum set up at a 45..
I'm more familiar with old, small boom trucks, but it's a similar working area from outrigger to outrigger...just have to think about your working area, and set up accordingly...
Here I thought I was starting on a LetsDig18 video ... I got bewildered when all the noises were 'wrong' at the beginning I gotta get used to the fact you now have machinery that small. 🙄🙂
Im kind of new to the buttslut. I won’t profess that I’m an expert. I was slow as fuck in this video for a reason. Didn’t want to break up sticks and let them flow into pipes that may already may have a partial plug. Slow and steady always wins the race, that’s what your wife tells me anyway. That aside, I always appreciate advice since I am new in this particular machine.

Haha glad to see the parts book survived! I just found a magnetic work light on a truck frame that’s been missing for weeks now!
I had 8,000 miles put on one of my magnetic lights lol.
👍👍 Petey
The Dodge gets a new axle and you get the shaft.
There 's a country song about I think😁

I loved the D9 handbook story. It's nice to hear that there are still good people in this world.
Appreciate no crappy music during fast motion section. Thanks so much. Lucky that big pole was available.
Do I use crappy music?
@@Jpaydirt No and that is what I found so refreshing.
@@bobwebber8521 aww crap I was going to put some soy boy hip hop in there and dedicate it to you LOL
@@Jpaydirt Thanks for not doing so. Ha Ha.
Perfect configuration you have with that backhoe Jeff, a 4 in 1 bucket, 4x4, extendahoe and thumb make that the perfect machine
That was the best recovery story I've heard in quite awhile
Great video Jeff that's one handy multipurpose backhoe. That beaver looks good behind Pete stay safe.
Very glad to see you up to your old tricks Mr. Paydirt !
Greetings from Australia
That little backhoe does good work. Nice to hear there is still decent folks around

Yeah normally if you poke around with a stick long enough something will happen. Great story behind the Cat book bro. Safe travels

I can't believe how nice that backhoe looks. That is going to be one handy machine
That worked to get my beaver dam busting fix for today... Thanks Jeff.

Wow Jake was giving that pipe a cleaning 😳. And glad someone found your book.😉

I nwarned you about smoking those joints Jeff
You ever consider a free spin kit for the dodge? Your probably using the 4wd more around your area so might not be worth it?
That's cool...........quite an investment though
Your very lucky that that person knew the value of that parts book. In my state, they would ask a return value for me to pay.
Sempher fi Jeff,
Caterpillar. Even the parts books are super tough. Water. Will move more dirt in less time than any excavator.
Wow. That video was full of " thats what she said " moments. 😆😉👍
yah, I was giggling when editing☻
At 14:25 were you saying to pull your pole out of the hole?
Run Forrest run☻
1:20-1:55 or so, Petey soundin gooood Jeff…..👍
If it wasn't a Cat book it'd been blown all over the freeway. Ramming a hole with big wood will always get it flowing.
Well that extension is slicker than snot.
i thought you had your own Cat backhoe
Your a cool guy good at what you do and you crack me up

I remember my first time on a backhoe.
Might should get your hearing checked that you didn’t hear that u joint talking to ya!! Lol
Give my lefty for that truck and backhoe setup.

yup I checked and you are correct, thanks
Yes!
That is a nice machine.
Can't help think your operator needed to set up at at an angle and then they could have swung further onto.the roadway. Kind of angle parked.

Poor Sooper Dodge! Hopefully 2 new yokes, universal & some seals.
Hi Jeff, Recently discovered your channel and subscribed today 3/28/2022 Steven Donaldson from Paulding Ohio.
How did you discover a weiner like me......LOL
420. Sweet. 🤙😎
Couldn't do that kinda work in WA these days without the FDA, CIA, SPCA and a bunch of hairy armpit women trying to stop the work.
Armpit women lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
He needs to come in on a bit of an angle so he can swing past himself ;-) Good Stuff
were learning, thanks for the tip
Are you Irish? I can't believe your luck getting that culvert unplugged and then getting your owner's manual returned. 😁
Swedish ..........remember dave? are you saying I'm McLucky☻

I've always said people should have to run a hoe before they get into an excavator, you'll be a much better operator

@@kylegallardy1894 I couldn’t agree more. I started on an old backhoe. Turn the front end 45 or 90 degrees and it would be much easier.
@@Bigpower802 I actually enjoy the challenge of a backhoe now and then
A little grease goes a long way Jeff
If you are referring to the U-joint, you can get greaseable ones, but I prefer the non-greaseable because they are stronger.
@@corythomas4427 400k on the odometer and Ive never replaced the rear prop shaft non greasable joints but the front I've done countless times
@Jpaydirt Time for a manual locking hub conversion then.
