I’ve always been split on how to view 40k from a powerscaling standpoint, mainly focusing on the feats that occur in real space and viewing chaos and the warp as, despite being incomprehensible, not as powerful as it seems due to the forces of chaos often losing battles against the imperium and other factions, so I come to the conclusion that on one hand, 40k is galaxy+ at max, but on the other hand, based on the info from novels and games, could easily be one of the most overpowered verses in fiction, especially if you focus on the warp and factions that use the warp, I am looking very forward to what you have to say about 40k’s power in the future :)
I think of it like this: The warp itself is outerversal, and the chaos gods are galaxy-universe level+. And no 40k is not overpowered, atleast not in the top 10, most powerful fictional universes

SInce the Chaos Gods are literally eons old, I guess its fair to say that they are pretty much the main characters, but they have been locked in constant battle with each other for dominance for just as long. The Emperor was a super-powered warrior, who suddenly had the power to hold back most of their power, which has led many fans to controversially claim he's either a Super-Duper Psyker, or an unbelievably powerful daemon who uses its powers to make everyone see him as a godly, handsome, super powerful warrior.
The emporor was born pre civilisation by a bunch of shamans killing themselves and their essence combined... 30 odd thousand years later, the Emperor made a pact with the chaos gods and gained even more power, guy is broken AF not gonna lie just his mind is > solar systems
A standard space marine is a walking light tank, that can run at 35-45(60 max) mph, armed with .75 cal gyro jet rounds, who can lift on average 2.7 tons(5-6 max). Bolter ammunition varies from diamand tip, mass reactive, poison, and ext. Their ceramite, and adamantium armor, is heat absorbent, and strongest at the pauldrons which can take some tanks shells. Spiderman demolishes a sqaud.

Seriously, no joke, back in the day I got into a conversation with a 40K-tard about how a Space Marine would fare against the Hulk Buster... the 616 Hulk Buster. This was in around 2010ish and around IRON MAN 2, so there wasn't even an MCU Hulkbuster to talk about. And no joke, he told me with a straight face that the 616 Hulk Buster would be fodder against a Space Marine. Not a particular character who is a space marine. Not one with ultra super psyker powers. Not one named Henry Caville or Mark Strong in the credits. Just a standard, tactical marine would be sufficient to defeat something that can withstand more than one serious hit from the Incredible Hulk, if not usually more than a few when he gets serious. I'm like, dude, come on now. Games Workshop isn't that committed to making their setting that powerful. Have you seen the official motion visual work involving Space Marine and how they routinely get chewed up by much less than honestly what should be able to reliably take them down in their own setting?

There are huge differences between transcending things, and don't have a law or work in the different/anathematic/normally impossible manner that felt like transcending things but not. The Warp is the second category. What scary about the Warp is not about the scale, it is rather how anathematic it is to the way material reality work. In the way that it bypasses our normal conventional physics. In the sense that it works differently and in the sense that its law is completely SUBJECTIVELY to its inhabitants and in areas affect by it. Heck, the Warp works so subjectively, if you have enough WILL and powerful enough soul/Warp presence, the Warp can have the size of a pebble, simply because you WANT it to be. Nothing in the Warp meant to be taken at a literal sense, for they are basically Warp-construct which rule was imposed by those interact, have connection to it. That is why denizens of the Materium can even fight against Chaos to begin with! The Warp and its denizens, in essence, is the REFLECTION of the actions, thoughts, emotion of Warp-connected mortals not the World of Forms (Concept) itself. The World of Form is the realm where concept in its perfect form exist, and everything we do or have, see, interact is nothing more than the imperfect, severely lacking version of the concept. Basically, the Warp, with its denizens is nothing more than the (at most, perfect, though unlikely) reflection of our failure to copy/mimic concepts in its truest and perfect form. And that is why Big E is correct on Chaos Gods. Heck, C’tan and even the Emperor has more right to be called gods than they are. Chaos Gods are PARASITES, TUMORS. They RELIES on something to exist. Those fuckers aren't even true concept, much less those that transcend it. To be outerversal, you are required to be AT LEAST a full on concept. To be true conceptual beings, they don't need to be fed. They just fuckin exist because they simply do. Prime example of this are Outer Gods in HPL and the Endless siblings in DC. Warp Gods still need to be fed, that is why they scare of Big E. And even then, I am not sure true conceptual beings even enough to be outerversal. This is why you must understand the Warp to understand Warhammer. The very moment that you give the Warp some measurement in any manner, you already fail horrendously in trying to understand it. And thus, fail horrendously in powerscale the entire 40k verse or make sense of its storylines. And the fact that Warp related stuffs aren't meant to be powerscale. In the context of 40k, a far worse outcome than a “oops, silly me” will come to you because of this. But alas, many fans, new or veterans (especially many of the powerscaling ones) fail or ignore it completely despite it does make sense of things.
Suggestion: I think you should show how strong is the C'tan in thier full power before they were broken up as well as how advance 40k humanity during its prime (DAoT era).

There are huge differences between transcending things, and don't have a law or work in the different/anathematic/normally impossible manner that felt like transcending things but not. The Warp is the second category.
What scary about the Warp is not about the scale, it is rather how anathematic it is to the way material reality work. In the way that it bypasses our normal conventional physics. In the sense that it works differently and in the sense that its law is completely SUBJECTIVELY to its inhabitants and in areas affect by it.
Heck, the Warp works so subjectively, if you have enough WILL and powerful enough soul/Warp presence, the Warp can have the size of a pebble, simply because you WANT it to be.
Nothing in the Warp meant to be taken at a literal sense, for they are basically Warp-construct which rule was imposed by those interact, have connection to it.
That is why denizens of the Materium can even fight against Chaos to begin with!
The Warp and its denizens, in essence, is the REFLECTION of the actions, thoughts, emotion of Warp-connected mortals not the World of Forms (Concept) itself. The World of Form is the realm where concept in its perfect form exist, and everything we do or have, see, interact is nothing more than the imperfect, severely lacking version of the concept.
Basically, the Warp, with its denizens is nothing more than the (at most, perfect, though unlikely) reflection of our failure to copy/mimic concepts in its truest and perfect form.
And that is why Big E is correct on Chaos Gods. Heck, C’tan and even the Emperor has more right to be called gods than they are.
Chaos Gods are PARASITES, TUMORS. They RELIES on something to exist. Those fuckers aren't even true concept, much less those that transcend it.
To be outerversal, you are required to be AT LEAST a full on concept. To be true conceptual beings, they don't need to be fed. They just fuckin exist because they simply do. Prime example of this are Outer Gods in HPL and the Endless siblings in DC. Warp Gods still need to be fed, that is why they scare of Big E. And even then, I am not sure true conceptual beings even enough to be outerversal.
This is why you must understand the Warp to understand Warhammer. The very moment that you give the Warp some measurement in any manner, you already fail horrendously in trying to understand it. And thus, fail horrendously in powerscale the entire 40k verse or make sense of its storylines. And the fact that Warp related stuffs aren't meant to be powerscale.
In the context of 40k, a far worse outcome than a “oops, silly me” will come to you because of this.
But alas, many fans, new or veterans (especially many of the powerscaling ones) fail or ignore it completely despite it does make sense of things.
Suggestion: I think you should show how strong is the C'tan in thier full power before they were broken up as well as how advance 40k humanity during its prime (DAoT era).
