This is a universal issue. Hetero/Homosexual relationships alike. And the cellphones have taken the pleasure out of conversation and meeting new people. I love your topics. :)
Honey, chivalry is dead period this day an age. Straight, gay or whatever orientation people are. I was just preaching to a girlfriend of mine about this. I specifically told her "If a guy ask you to 'HANG OUT' on the first date; he isn't worth your time." When someone is interested in you, they should be going over and beyond to try and impress you. That means they should be taking you OUT, showing you that they maybe share your interest, showing something different. Hanging out is for later :/
I been with my lover for 11 years and if one of us go out of town we called each others and I will tell him to be safe and enjoy his self. But you are right.
Shoot, do Black men go on dates anymore?! I'm cute but this whole I JUST MET YOU BUT I WANT TO TALK TO YOU AND ACT LIKE WE'VE BEEN DATING FOR 6 MONTHS type isht has to stop! A younger woman might be flattered, but darn it, I'm not in my 20s anymore! 3 phone calls + 5 texts does not equal 2 dates!
man u r so funny , ima single black female who is nice looking and 4 the life of me everytime i meet a guy or even say hi 2 them they act like i said would u marry me but u r right on point ,thank u
If you only would realize how many negative comments I have to deal with a day I didn't not see your other comments until now. I appreciate the advice and no I'm not bitter. To be honest I'm not even trying to date I'm focused on myself right now. I hear from friends all the time who experience these situations. Before my last relationship I found it hard to find a decent guy. They're not many men who want something serious.
We teach ppl how to treat us. My husband dated me bcz I required it. He was not going to run up my household bills "kikn it" but I have found a real gentleman need no coaching on chilvary and alot comes w maturity. Jj good for you bringing real relationship issues to the table! You are a quality dude gay str8 bent or triangle, you are salt of the earth
They only gay men I know who date are the ones who are already in a relationship. Single gay men mainly hook up and don't date. Its kinda sad actually but oh well.
I could totally see Justin as the whimsical husband of a very serious 30-something quietly out, shy lawyer. I imagine that he looks like Clark Kent, with the glasses and the suit. Let me set the scene: Justin and Clark Kent are in the checkout line in a grocery store. A lady ahead of them is acting a fool and Justin says something smart to her. Everyone else in line claps in agreement. CK gives Justin a once over...slowly then asks Justin out on a date when they get out to the parking lot.
Well Justin its not just in the black gay community its the entire black community as a whole. As it always is.... People talking bout they're not a movie person is basically them saying im not looking to spending all that time with you i just wanna fuck... Its not really about the movie its about getting to spend time and of your really feeling that person you wont care what it is as long as you get to spend time. Everybody is looking for a cop out to not spend money and get some...
You know what you're talking about before you tell me what I'm doing. One I haven't been to the club since 2010 and I don't hookup sites point blank period. Do not tell me about men and you don't live in my city. I am not the only one who feels this way.
This may be stereotypical, but I have to ask this as a heterosexual woman listening to you on this issue. Is maybe a component of this that homosexual men aren't comfortable openly dating another man in public? I mean, I don't think I've ever seen a man hold another man's hand in public. I've seen men at the movies and out to dinner, but do you think that the men you'd date are comfortable following a traditional dating template?
Dude, I love you and feel for you so much because at 2:30 I could FEEL your incredulity coming off the screen! "How can you NOT be into movies?!" I have met men who are intelligent but not interesting. They don't read, they don't write, they have no hardcore interests beyond watching sports and fncking. And after running into a couple of them I just decided to give myself a break because it wad disheartening. I enjoy a lot of different things, but I don't feel like dragging someone along.
I am watching this after the most horrible dating experience I've had in a long time and just wondering do I need to move country to have better experiences.
LOL! And that's exactly what it is becoming to now. I've been guilty of this but not anymore. I'm going to ask for more from people who are interesting in getting to know me maybe it will weed out the ones who don't want shit.
Well I think it's the same with straight men also! When I did date, I'm married now, I never did like to go to the movies because I always wanted to go somewhere to talk and get to know that person more. My husband and I 1st date was at books a million!and the park. I would never let a man come to my house to "chill" because I started to see that with this generation chill is code word for sex! Like let me come over your house order a movie off Comcast burn and blast my air for free 99! No Sir!
What I've notice about black gay men, it's that they will only approach a guy if they find him to be extremely attractive, regardless of if the man is straight or gay- gay men are not friendly unless they think another man is attractive- I have no problem interacting with straight men or even lesbians because i know they're not talking to me based on how I look-it's just straight friendship...gay men only befriend guys solely base on how they look.
i love this video... this explains why gays in the community are the way that they are. all they think about is sex, sex, sex.... whatever happened to meeting someone in public like you said and just talk and getting to know a person... smh they will learn sooner or later...
Most of my close friends are men both gay and straight - some reason married, dating or single - but they all cheat at one time or another - it seems like men are not mention to have long term emotional/sexual comittment
We also need better role models to bring out better behavior. It's like when "Noah's Arc" came out, I swear everyone I knew was watching it glued to the screen. We all dreamed of that. There is no reason we all can't have that instead of the Thurs-Sun sex/drama machine we recycle every week.
I think a couple of other factors to consider when it comes to seeing/approaching someone out in public as oppose to online is that:1. gay men, particularly black gay men, are so about no one knowing "they get down", that if you approach them in a setting outside of the chatroom, they are liable to cause a scene. Mind you, not all but a small percentage. Also, it's a shyness thing. I'm shy in person but not so much online (where I generally do look for other guys to chat with and connect).
If I meet a lesbian and she wants to text and not talk on the phone or in person - I don't bother with her - I'm to old for games I want a real relationship not a pretend one!!!
I feel like in the gay black community, people like to put certain standards on being gay. Like everyday, I see somebody saying you got to do and that on order to be gay and that's annoying to me. It shouldn't be like that. Thats I'm over the black LGBT community. Too much bullshit
you'd be surprise some couples been together 20 odd years for example Tom Ford and his husband and there still together so it may not be as needed as you may think!
Im 29 Ive never been on a date. Why? Whats the point of wasting money when there is netflix and delivery? This isnt 1950. Lets just hang out and chill. Fuck that dating crap.
I love ur videos . I did one time look at a picture of this gay guy that i kno and went to school on fb of him and his boyfriend and i look at it an said the his boyfriend was ugly but wen i did i instantly checked myself cuz i dont like sum1 off looks. Wat is funny that im a gay man and dont have a man but i call that guy ugly. So ppl need stop doing that cuz he or she could of been the 1 for them. that is y i dont have a preference becuz u neva kno if they the 1 . I will neva dis miss any1.
So this video has to be old and I am just getting caught up with you. Dating is a formality, design to keep sex at bay. People think they are getting to know each other on dates, but you are engaging in activity and thrones of a person, you not getting to know them. I don't date at the movies. That 2 hours of non communication, can't be getting to know anyone and you both are paying attention to a movie screen. A conversation about what moviesbornother sources of entertain is how you get to know someone. I have a social work life. I am always out in the streets at events and dinners, etc. I really appreciate a home cooker meal and the intimacy and privacy off a home. At a decent hour. I am not . Coming to anyone's house to get to know anyone at 11pm. That's let fuck hour. What I will do is suggest breakfast or coffee at a Coffee house or meet and greet a a library. Real odd and nerdy. But these are low key places that a conversation can happen at least. Chivalry is not dead. It just has on different clothes.
OF course. GRINDR is a global thing. LOL! Here in Manchester the demographic is White then Asian [what US peeps call Indian/Pakistani] but it's overwhelmingly Caucasian. Drinking and being social at pubs is a big thing here, but going on dates as in an old-fashioned dating is not really it's about. You meet someone and it's about the sex then you move on to the next person. TBH, it's more of a gay men's thing than it's a Black/White thing or a US/UK thing.
This is a universal issue. Hetero/Homosexual relationships alike. And the cellphones have taken the pleasure out of conversation and meeting new people. I love your topics. :)
No one is down to Earth anymore
Honey, chivalry is dead period this day an age. Straight, gay or whatever orientation people are. I was just preaching to a girlfriend of mine about this. lasirenas1 Maybe you could putting in some effort. But I guess that’s too much for you
Thank you and I really felt good talking about bringing this to the light.
Hey King of Reads
I been with my lover for 11 years and if one of us go out of town we called each others and I will tell him to be safe and enjoy his self. But you are right.

YES! That's why I have started enforcing this and not being ashamed of asking someone on a date.
Hey
Thank you!
They only gay men I know who date are the ones who are already in a relationship. Single gay men mainly hook up and don't date. Its kinda sad actually but oh well.
Hey Dexter
that is good to hear I think we all make that mistake sometimes but you did correct yourself
I could totally see Justin as the whimsical husband of a very serious 30-something quietly out, shy lawyer. I imagine that he looks like Clark Kent, with the glasses and the suit.

It's the same in the UK?!!

I've seen men hold hands in public, but they weren't black men
That's exactly my point Rod!
I'm sorry to hear that but i'm glad you woke up are you on Facebook or twitter?
Justin you are right on with this video i am going to have to meet you when i come to Memphis again!
"chivalry" and I would think everyone who is dating anyone would like to be taken out on dates.
That is true the physical is supposed to get your attention but it won't hold you forever if that's all that is there.
Dude, I love you and feel for you so much because at 2:30 I could FEEL your incredulity coming off the screen! "How can you NOT be into movies?!"

Got my life when you said meeting in the parking lot. It happens!
Hey Kenneth check your youtube channel
LOL! And that's exactly what it is becoming to now. I've been guilty of this but not anymore. I'm going to ask for more from people who are interesting in getting to know me maybe it will weed out the ones who don't want shit.

i love this video... this explains why gays in the community are the way that they are. all they think about is sex, sex, sex.... whatever happened to meeting someone in public like you said and just talk and getting to know a person... smh they will learn sooner or later...
Most of my close friends are men both gay and straight - some reason married, dating or single - but they all cheat at one time or another - it seems like men are not mention to have long term emotional/sexual comittment
The main problem(in my opinion)is that people do too much of nothing and have just that to talk about.
How did you meet said 'educated, successful, attractive' men?? was it online? this is important to disclose
I figured that much and it's sad as hell
YES! This hit it perfectly! Thank You Soooooo Much!
EXCELLENT POINTS MADE HERE!
Have you been to Texas i like what you said Eric is my name is there any way to talk to you
YES! CHIVALRY IS DEAD , SO SAD I FEEL U. THE STRAIGHT COMMUNITY THE SAME.

you think so
Your a good talker btw.
Tru cause i use to do the snapshot thirsty post on fb thing but i aint did that in like a year cause its not cute
I'm not a big movie person either
If I meet a lesbian and she wants to text and not talk on the phone or in person - I don't bother with her - I'm to old for games I want a real relationship not a pretend one!!!
I don't think straight black men go on dates either. Chivalry is #dead
Yes you did. I nearly fainted when you slipped into the older white gay men, Lmao
Did I really Erinn lol
I feel like in the gay black community, people like to put certain standards on being gay. Like everyday, I see somebody saying you got to do and that on order to be gay and that's annoying to me. It shouldn't be like that. Thats I'm over the black LGBT community. Too much bullshit
So True. my favorite video to date
you'd be surprise some couples been together 20 odd years for example Tom Ford and his husband and there still together so it may not be as needed as you may think!
Preach!
Im 29 Ive never been on a date. Why? Whats the point of wasting money when there is netflix and delivery? This isnt 1950. Lets just hang out and chill. Fuck that dating crap.

Would you date a 5'3 guy who is kind, talkative and a virgin?
I will 💋💋💌
I agree about what u said, my tumblr is full of light-skinned dudes w/ these squinty ass eyes and big pink lips. lol
Black men many other gay men' do not socialize, or date" most end up alone. And i had enough sex' so no more of dat" i want a boyfriend.
Hey
lol it was the truth
Same goes for whites too. I do associate with white gays. I live in the UK....Same shite!
I don't quite understand gay relationships. I feel like you need feminine and masculine energy to bond for a long-term relationship.
You should have a problem
Lol would you date a submissive man
Who's smaller than you?
