- In today's video, I review the ECO PRO2 and how it is going to improve my reselling business. If you are a bulk seller of DVDs, CDs, and video games, then you know a disc cleaner/repairing machine is necessary. I go over my thoughts on the ECOPRO2 and its cheaper competitor, the JFJ Easy Pro.

I bought an Eco Pro 2 and it totally changed my selling. I don’t even bother looking at the state of the cds now before I buy a bulk load as I know this will bring them back up to NM. Hence upping the price I can charge. It’s a total life saver.

I have an Eco-Smart (not the auto w/ multiple heads) and i love it for it's simplicity. Just the one spinning motor and water pump (less to go wrong). I do LOTS of discs and it is by far the cheapest-each pad is supposed good for 40 re-surfaces but I get 100 plus and the pads are only 3.00 each through Discmagic. I paid about 1,500 for mine refurbed and I LOVE IT. I've heard the polish lines start to clog on the Eco pro 2 but maybe if it's only if you use it too much. good luck with it.

I do 2 to 3 hours a week and it pays for itself. I actually us it with polishing pads too that work great for finger prints or light scratches. I have gone through probably 10 of those chips and still working great. Any major disc resaler needs to have it, JFJ just doesn’t come close to comparing in the end.
Yeah, I need to play with the polishing pads as well. I’m super impressed with how easy it is to churn through repairs.

Both machines are great tools to have. It really depends on how many you are needing to run every month to justify the cost difference.
@@ResaleDojo 100% i just finished, love the machine i'd totally want that one.. now the 800 minute card i guess thats something you'll have to keep buying. kind of like being on a minutes plan with your phone? when you're out its a brick till you get more?
Forget the Jfj, you WILL ruin discs eventually. you need a system that uses water to prevent marking and burnout on discs. you can probably find a used Azuradisc 1600 for the same money and those work well.
@@jamessanechiaro7918disc burn on a JFJ machine is preventable by not overdoing it and actually using water for the sanding and buffing steps.
Sanding steps never go beyond 10 second runs, and that’s with wet sandpaper and disc; the shorter intervals allows for cooling down while checking progress on scratch removal. The coarser the grit, the more restraint and cooling needs to be practiced.
The polishing step with white #2 (yes odd numbering on the polishing compounds) is what usually runs 1 to 2 minutes, but I find it best to only do 1 minute runs and checking progress between runs for cooling the disc down, making sure that it is not being overdone, and that the pad is not drying out.
The polish step with the #1 light bluegreen compound is also 1 to 2 minutes, same thing, though it is possible to run 2 minute cycles with this step, it’s best to ensure that the pad is moist and the disc is cooled before each run; otherwise stick to 1 minute intervals.
Then there’s the buffing step. The so-called ‘sanding pads’ without the sandpaper and that have the white felt-like cloth patch opposite of the velcro surprisingly make for great disc buffers when made wet, and they almost completely erase the swirl marks from the bluegreen compound step. This was only when I didn’t have or ran out of the actual buffing pads, so if possible use the proper buffing pad for this step.
I've got a JFJ, I used it one day and cleaned like 30 discs and made my money back. Haven't sourced enough games to mess with it again so it's just sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
Yep, that’s how I paid off my JFJ as well. First box of damaged disc that I had run through it easily paid off the unit.
With the JFJ Easy Pro, if you "damage" a disc you can keep going and go past the damage. Oftentimes discs aren't damaged, but the thickness of the plastic is the actual issue, console lasers need the discs to be within certain thickness parameters to be able to read them, if you go past that thickness it can't be read, but if you keep going you'll once again reach a thickness that the console can read through again. However, it can take a LOT of resurfacing to reach that thickness.

Nice review !! I ordered mines this week and can’t wait to get it. I heard that these machines don’t take out deep scratches and that some people that still have a jfj do the sanding for deep scratches with it first and then use the eco pro to finish the process. Have you done this before ?
Yeah, the super deep ones takes more time with these. I usually will just run more cycles to try to get it out. It’s worked for most of them that I have had issues with

I’d love to have one, but after spending the $1,600.00, I’d always be paranoid the company would go out of business and I couldn’t get the keys anymore. Lol. 🚫🔑😜
Yeah, it’s a small worry. They have been in business for awhile and if they ever go under a competitor would easily swipe up their assets and make money on the key cards and consumables.

I’m getting micro scratches that are going all the way around the disk. Do you have the same problem? Is it the water I’m using?
I've been using the eco pro 2 for a month now its great! I still have my JFJ still and was wondering if you (still have your JFJ) ...if you do you use it to sand down deeper scratches and then take it over to the eco pro2?
I still have my JFJ, but it is just in case anything ever happens to the Eco Pro. I have thought about trying the sanding on the JFJ and then throwing it into the Eco Pro, but I haven't tested it yet

Agree I can crack it but for 1600.00 already I see 250 bucks tops for material and engineering.

@@jccigarsandvape I didn't crack it since I don't own one and bought another commercial version much cheaper used that does circles around this unit.
@@JohnnyLightningV10 oh ok. Seems like no one can crack the eco pro 2s key card lol but venmill hybrid chip has been cracked.
should breakdown the cost of the supplies per use. (not the machine as its the initial investment)
Thanks for this!! I have a JFJ but it broke after 6 months... And they don't sell replacement parts... And for warranty I have to ship it on my dime with them having to decide if it counts as warranty or not!?!?! So I'm going to save up for this and sell the JFJ for parts.
No problem! That sucks that your JFJ broke down so soon.
@@ResaleDojo I did put some heavy usage on it and it paid for itself several times over. For example I fixed Xenosaga iii for PS2 and sold it for $222 so it did its job for awhile
I’m guessing it’s the disc arm.
I replaced mine with a somewhat precisely drilled aluminum flat bar bent in the right places and with clearance cutouts. This was back when I did not have a lathe or milling machine, and the aluminum flat bar arm solution works well to this day.
The parts are being sold on eBay as a replacement set, alongside the supplies. But quite frankly if I had the time I would be machining up an aluminum replacement with bearing bronze bushings for the disc arm, which would be more robust than whatever the white plastic cracker stuff would be.
Looks like it's easy to use and works well enough/fast enough. Even up front cost doesn't seem bad. But I don't understand the reason for the key card concept? Is this a normal industry practice?
I haven’t seen the keycard method used before, but it is a smart way for them to ensure users are buyer their consumables (pads, solution) and not through a third party as the key card is bundled with those products.

Have you ever had one of the compound tubes get clogged? I bought my eco pro 2 and now after it only being a year old the tube is clogged and solution is only coming out of one tube. I tried to troubleshoot it like the website said but nothing worked
I haven’t had it happen to me yet. I pretty much use it everyday, so maybe I am keep it moving frequently. This happened to a local reseller here and he said he fixed it by flushing it out. He said it takes some time as it has to breakdown the clog.
I just bought this machine jfj was not doing the job for me, I will use jfj for sanding only so that i use less resources for this one.
I can admire the quality, but the ONE nuisance that makes this machine a no / dealbreaker for me is the need for that damned proprietary chip, and the fact that it literally limits your use of the machine via runtime minutes like a prepaid load card, as if they thought that people were too dumb to understand what ‘maintenance, service and replacement intervals for wear items’ means, because quite frankly that is what it is, to me at least.
There’s also the matter of what happens to the machine when you can no longer get minutes on those keycards because of whatever circumstances occur, such as the company going belly up, global events, or technical difficulties. If the answer to that eventuality is being left with an unusable $1000 desktop paperweight, that’s really really bad.
People can use third party pads, third party wear items, and this is also the case for the JFJ Easy Pro, but at least one can use that machine even when the whole world goes belly up, and all you need is electrical power, pads and compound, or suitable third party or homemade subsitutes that work within the range of practical and common sense.
All I am saying is that if one buys something, they should have the absolute freedom to do whatever with it, and not be restricted or controlled by things that require one to only buy from or pay money to the equivalent of a monopoly just to use it.
That’s just my two cents.
Great 👍info. I'm a JFJ'r but, it doesn't survive a few years of use! An echo 2, $1600 price tag is steep for repairing your own discs! I guess I could buy 8 more JFJs......🥴
Yeah, if you are just repairing discs for your own use and not crazy volume, I would stick with the JFJ. If you are using it for a business with volume, then the Eco Pro 2 is a great tool to have
i've been thinking about it for a long time, but I have 100% positive feedback on my accounts, and I have been keeping around 300-400 discs that are worth more than 7 dollars to resurface, my fear is that I think you would start to get some angry feedback from people who's discs won't work especially if they look brand new, maybe only use it on the lightly scratched games? and then sell the deeply scratched games to another reseller. The risk seems pretty high, i know for sure a lot of games even moderately scratched still will skip somewhere in the game, and could even become unreadable, maybe it would be smart to only sell them on a platform that you can throwaway so that you don't get a ton of negative reviews
I’ve only had like 3 returns on thousands of discs due to it not working properly. After awhile, you learn which discs are salvageable. Pretty much if a disc after 4 minutes of cleaning still has a scratch that I can feel with my fingernail, then I don’t offer it up. Also, if you have free returns on your items, you get feedback protection from Ebay so you don’t need to worry about negatives.
What this machine like with the black ps1 disc. My jfj easy pro leaves swirl marks on ps1 disc its so annoying. Thanks.

Does this nachine leave any swirl marks?
The white pad will leave lite swirls, but the mirror finish pad will remove them.

Can you define, "high volume" - how many discs a months would you consider "high volume" to process?
I would say if you are cleaning 3 a day or 100 per month. That was kind of my breaking point of using the JFJ and switching to the Eco Pro due to gained efficiency
@@ResaleDojo thanks so much for responding. I got a KILLER deal ($60 including extra supplies) on a JFJ so I'm in good shape at the moment but very glad to have a frame of reference for the future.
The keycard is such BS... Seriously. If I pay 1600 for disc cleaning machine I should be able to use it AS MUCH AS I WANT!!!!!!.

How well does this machine do with blue ray/wii u/ ps3 discs? I messaged the company on ebay but no reply.
It is ok with those. I’m always really careful when sourcing those as deep scratches usually means game over. It has worked well with really light scratches for me. There is a specific mode you activate for those types of discs as well. Definitely better than how the JFJ manages those types of scratches.
Dam I guess I’m just going to have to keep saving for the ELM, you seriously have to pay for hours on top of that big up front costs those guys might as well charge a monthly subscription
Yeah, paying for the hours (chip) ensure you have to buy their solution and pads. It’s a good idea on their part to help with knock offs, but if you want to squeeze a little more time out of your solution and pads, it’s hurts you a little bit

CAN you use it with mini disc ( gamecube) ?
Yes, but you need to add an attachment for it. It’s like $15 through their website. I’m actually ordering one as I have like 10 GC discs to clean

Yes, you can clean Gamecube discs with a special attachment that is like $10 or $15.
I have the same machine for about a year, definitely worth it, considering they sell machines over $20,000 so at $1600.00+ this is affordable. I bought 11,000 DVD's games and CD's from a store that changed their direction right when Covid hit. Currently looking for the best light to inspect DVD's and games, so far I think CFL lightbulbs show scratches better than fluorescent any comment? Also how long do you test a disc esp video games- till it loads? longer?
Tbh you're looking at it wrong. Especially if you have 11k to resurface. Priority should be minimizing per cost usage. Without a doubt you would spend less money and time buying a autosmart\senior. I have a master and 2 seniors. Yeah their 20k and 7k each new, but I bought them used and their worth the exact same amount I paid for them.

Yes. I get it in a pack with compound, cleaning pads, and the time card.
So how much does it cost to replenish the key card each time?
It’s like $80 for the kit that includes the key card, solution, and pads. Card lasts 800 minutes of cleaning cycles

I bought a ECO PRO2 it's ok....BUT I hate the time card, I sold mine I would honestly rather have the ECO AutoSmart. No time card and it has 4 processes of cleaning scratched discs alot higher at $7,000 but it's thousands times better.
For $1600 I think they make enough money off you
LOL you need keys to run this? this almost compares to Car manufacturers making you pay to open a window, or pay for minutes driven.. hard pass
You've had it less than a week and cleaned 80 discs and you feel qualified enough to recommend it. Wow a whole week and you've mastered all the quirks and bugs that this machine throws out. What's more likely is that you're pumping out a video to get as many TH-cam views as quickly as you can to start recouping those costs on a machine that you have to pay the manufacturer every time you want to use it. Better hope they don't go under or you'll be the proud owner of a machine you can't use.
I make videos on TH-cam to educate other resellers and give them information to make their own decisions on how to run their business. You know how much I make for 1,000 views? Maybe $5 for this type of video. I will lose money due to the time I put into filming and editing that I could have made from running my business. You know how much I made my first 3 months of being monetized, $0, because I donated all to charity. And yes, I feel I am qualified to give my thoughts on this product because of my first hand experience testing it (and it’s competition) as well as discussing it with many other users that have had it for years. Do I worry about Elm going out of business? Nope. They have been around for awhile, and if anything happened to them, they would easily find a buyer of their assets. Have a nice day.
