Justin's outfit was an 11/10 for me. He fully embodied the hippy California mountain biker vibe, which I am also a part of. I'd love to see a sequel to this video, and maybe y'all can head on out to central California for some real mountain biking.
Also, yes, Isaac. Those "uncomfortable" seats are on almost every mountain bike, and us long-time mountain bikers have built up callouses in the nether area, so we don't even feel it. In addition, we do use chamois butter for longer rides, and butt pads, which are actually just called chamois.
I loved watching Isaac struggle, because I've definitely been there. Guarantee you that every mountain biker has. I can't say that I've ever carried a whole freaking gallon of milk with me, though, LOL!
I also worked at a Trek dealer for 3 years, so this was just pure nostalgia. Love the vid, guys! Hopefully, you can be convinced to make a sequel!

As a mountain biker I will say that the small seats are made so they are out of the way, and when you go uphill you put the seat up for maximum leverage. The reflectors are usually taken off because they break and litter the trail. You guys should all get mountain bikes and do more videos. It is a very addictive sport and I hope you guys will love it.

i am an experienced mountain biker… i own a brand new pivot mach 4 sl worth 7000, i think that the clipped pedals would have helped justin very much as they easily add 50% more power each pedal stroke… also the clif gel blocks are a MUST for mountain biking i absolutely love them… also make sure to be shifting gears regularly on trails to maximize pedaling efficiency

I am a mountain biker and i personally stand up on the down hill and sit down on the uphill. But you have to make sure your seat is setup right to were your legs are almost at a full extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke. Also Justin’s bike has a dropper post which is super good for the down hill cause you can put the seat down and out of the way. Isaac’s option of milk and Doritos was not the smartest😂 and Andrew did surprisingly well on the type of bike he had.

Hey i love mountain biking, one of the biggest part's of the sport is being able to move around your bike. it would take to long to explain the moving around part. But the reason why mtb seats are small is because it gives your rear end a lot of clearing space to get behind the seat so you can go downhill faster and easier. Another reason is so that you can lift the bike over rocks and roots. And so i would say about half the time on my ride im standing up or moving around my bike!!! good video!!

I am a mountain biker, and when mountain biking, most people including myself usually stand up for most of the ride, it allows you to put more force into your pedals while pedaling your bike therefore making climbs much easier, also if you sit down while descending, or going down the mountain, your butt will hurt much more than if you were to stand up.

Isaac's seat question was brilliant. There is a fine line with comfort vs. manuverability with the seat and how much time you spend seated reduces a great deal as your fitness improves... your ability to stay connected to the seat is what would have prevented your boys tire from spinning out so much on the climbs. That's why dropper posts are so epic.

what you need to do is stand up on steep uphill. when you get to semi flat uphill you can sit in a low gear. once you reach the top you put your bike in high gear and stand up but not to much. let the bike ride the terrain and stabilize your body so you can control the bike.
I’m an mountain biker and if you want to see a proper mtb trail come to boomerang farm in Australia. By the way the seat may feel uncomfortable but you won’t notice that much if you are on a trail with features jumps and stuff
