- Después de 2 meses de espera llegaron los protectores de las tapas de válvulas. Tienen unas mañas para instalarse pero al final quedaron muy bien y me da más tranquilidad en caso de una caída leve.
Lucen bien esas sw motech, de hecho son las más bonitas que he visto; hay otras de wunderlich para la Euro 5, pero creo que también prefiero esas motech 👌🏽
Además que las Wunderlich cuestan casi el doble… 😬

Tubular design such as Wunderlich is far stronger and therefore much better protection in an actual crash. This design is more stylish but weight of bike will bend these into cylinder head and still allow major damage. Same reason the dreams is tubular… greater structural rigidity than stamped metal
You’re right, however the purpose de of this guard is to protect for light low speed impact (i.e. a drop) which is the main concern I would have since even that can crack the valve covers. It’s a case of form over function, tubular guards are better but I don’t like them, both SW Motech and Wunderlich offer tubular and stamped guards and they’re probably the same in their own category. Maybe if I ride in unpaved roads I would be more inclined to a tubular guard, they’re also great to place place extra lights. In the end it all goes back to the basic premise: don’t drop the bike…
but do they actually protect anything? looks like thin metal...
It’s not that thin, but don’t expect them to do much on a high speed drop, just like the tubular ones. I got them to protect them for a low speed drop or tip over since the valve covers can get damaged easily.

Hi, I actually had to play a bit with the placement, specially those that appear to be placed on an angled surface, check the guard placement and look for the flat spots between it and the cylinder head, then squeeze the spacers there before the final tightening. That’s how I place them, otherwise some of them would fall and others won’t allow me to fit the guard.
@@jitderoud The SW Motech instructions are unforgivable, I'm glad I had your video to see it was possible in the end! A lot of trial and error to get these fitted but they do look good.

They will fit with SW Motech crash bars, not sure about other brands.
