I've seen 2 couples who first came to SA for a visit couple of times only to like to relocate in SA. One of those couple's are already back in SA had to go back and do the whole process while they were in the US they are back now officially... the other couple came visited whilst on their last day they mentioned that they had to get back home for the process to be done properly. Last week i came across them on IG where they announced that their application has been approved and they are currently preparing to sort their stuff before they transition to SA.
Have hope and know that everything happens in good time, your time is coming and its better to do things thr right way to avoid disappointments

Yep. I was struggling with my Visa situation for a while. Had to take a break. Dealing with the US embassy in DC is challenging to say the least. Plus, like you said, it is backed up. Apparently, there was a huge priority for migrants in Zimbabwe when I was working on mine. I'm not giving up. Hope it works out for you. I know a guy currently in SA that has been told to leave in a couple days. He's got a house with dogs and everything. Tough for sure.

@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE Same for you. Crazy enough, I'm retired and qualify for a retirement visa. Submitted my paperwork; T's crossed and I's dotted and still got denied. It'll work out. I suppose it's going to be a learning experience.

Our son will be traveling to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban with a group from Carnegie Hall in New York so my husband and I will travel to Johannesburg for the first time to support our son’s performances. I would love to know more about the food. A relative travel to Africa years ago and got extremely sick because of something in the food. I want to make sure that we are careful so we can enjoy the trip to the fullest. I was also told not to drink the water. Is that true?

Well, we don’t drink tapwater anywhere not even in America unless it’s filtered. Out of all of the African countries that we have been to none of them give you water out of the tap it is always bottled. So, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Yeah South Africa is going through an immigration reform because of visa corruptions and security issues nowadays but things with the new streamline systems being rolled out all will okay.
It's good you'll have applied early cause obtaining visas to SA will be a bit tough in future.
I hear 2 million Europeans are currently living there So I do not understand. But glad they are not discouraged.
@@adrianwillis66 It's all just timing, you'll probably find that those Europeans have been living here for years rather than the past year or two, which would coincide with the reform of the visa etc

I will admit, when I saw that you were planning to settle in SA and start your own business, my thoughts were "Good luck with the South African Department of Home Affairs". I wish it could have been better for you, but alas. Not that it is necessarily easier anywhere else.

Was wondering what happened to you guys...glad to see everything is copacetic. With regard to SA visas, the President announced recently that the legislative enactment of the digital nomad visa category is close to implementation. So I think by mid-year it should be up an running.

Wise decision, I recently left Durban after consciously overstaying my 90
Day visa by 6months, I knew I wasn’t returning to SA, and yes while leaving Durban at the Shaka Zulu Airport the Immigration officials escorted me to a back room and questioned my reasons for overstaying my 90 visa, my answer to them wasn’t acceptable so they considered me an undesirable and had me sign this K19 form and I’m banned from returning to SA for 5 years😉
