      Dan is sick. My only complaint about his flow is that he tries to pack too many tricks into one line, instead of focusing on cleaner, smoother, and more fluid tricks. He already has a unique style, and I think, for Dan specifically, less is more. Fast Dan looks great too. I feel like it’s more about self-control versus impulsiveness.

      If you street skate the holes wear and i think the 3 holes will turn into one oval in less than a month. My thunders ive had for a year have diagonal ovals in all 4 holes

    • @insanogeddon
      @insanogeddon 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@wilmueller6421 Pretty sure that's why bear trucks just have the 2 and always have a thin riser to take away wear. They are from a downhill set so know how to stop slop. Potentially the larger base plate and grooves along with the 'rocket bolts' mean the grind king set up has the same effect in removing the slop that causes such wear.

    Those divots in the truck, from a science and mathematical point of view, reduce the degree of incline between the contact point of the trucks and the rails, while locked into tricks. The more of a horizontal plane you can keep the two points of contact on, the more stable it will be. Even if the degree of incline reduction is only .01 degree, for how precise skateboarding is, that is enough to produce viable impact when it comes to slipping out out of tricks due to the fact that the trucks often don't make contact with the grind point on a horizontal plane. It's not so much about "locking in" as it is not letting gravity pull you downward. The wheel still locks you in for the most part, since being locked in from slipping side to side would require side contact, not just a little divot to sit into, although the divot still helps and that's the point. Again, it reduces the degree of angle between the contact points and creates a more stable, horizontal plane for said object (skateboard) to sit on. Super long winded I'm kinda stoned munching on dinner

    • @dogf4cemf
      @dogf4cemf 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think that lump will force you into those 50-50s where the rail is flush with your wheel on one side and then you’re about 35 degrees from being forward facing

      @@dogf4cemf he saying " The more of a horizontal plane you can keep the two points of contact on" I question that because ? FOR ME, a shop i go to sometimes got a set for people to mess with, and i tried to match my tensors pretty much 1 for one, and honestly... i was more annoyed i coulnt clean nosegrind vs get into crooks.
    I can't land a ncrook, ive said it before, but thats the trick that broke my ankle, so i have alot of fear associated with it, so i don't do them, however, salad, willy, feeble, felt great, until i tried it on a quarter and then i felt a little wonky, 5050 fought me a bit bet never spit me, 50 fought into odd position like i was fighting salad and stuff. only a couple of people i know personally ride at my level so getting like, had potential mid riders vibes from a older dude, im 31, but tbh, nano cubics, and some lockers, its a pretty solid set up for people just chillen

    Thank you for the proper nose grind on the ledge, so many people rely on the nose of the deck to balance.

    My first board was a barely skated complete my buddy got a few years prior. Really cool looking zero deck and phantom trucks. This was probably 2002 and he got it in probably 98 or 99. My next pair of trucks were grind kings and were honestly one of my favorite trucks. And I have skated quite a few. I even had a pair of ruckus

    I I got a pair of these in the mail too. I did a video on my skateboarding channel with them. I’m really liking them, especially after messing with the bushings and the wheelbase. Got another video coming soon.

    Very thorough, scientific and honest review, Dan. Wish I had your repertoire of tricks. I've been a big fan of Grind King since they first came out. I used to ride Indy's back in the late 80s early 90s, but modified them with Grind King kingpins as soon as that became a thing. Never really liked the way Thunders or Ventures turn. I have some of the newer GK Disruptors and they are pretty nice for turning and pop. I wish there was more and better stuff to grind by me. My secret sloppy curb got dozed a few years ago when they redid a shopping center. But they used to sloppy grind pretty well if the curb was slick enough. I have the spark ones too, but haven't sparked them off yet. Be interested to see how these fare long term. Give Grind King an honest chance over time. I think you'll find they are a great happy medium btw Indy and Thunder and address a lot of the issues with both. God bless, man.

    What happened to the Tensor trucks we were riding 20 years ago, that had a bit of resin to "facilitate" tailslides and blunts ?
    They were super hot when i was a kid lol

      Tensor Sliders. All my friends skated Ventures but I rode those Sliders, just cause I liked the little orange shield and the unfinished metal look lol compared to the shiny oily look ventures had in the mid 2000's.

    Just watched the new Von Dutch documentary. There's a cool nugget of Grind King history in there. I still skate a set of those glowing Kre-pers. I'd happily pre-order a reissue of them. Especially if the inverted kingpins are improved now.

    I like your honesty on them, I was concerned about the placement of the grooves pushing you out of grinds as well. Maybe with wider or conical wheels that would become an issue. Something like a lock in full from spitfire may push you into the center of their grooves with no inner edge exposed
