The suit is accurate. It's literally the cover of Dark Knight Triumphant which is the second issue of the Dark Knight Returns. I believe the oval version is what he wore in issue 1.
I prefer both but I DO NOT like the fact that McFarlane skimped on making that light post more bottom-heavy. But I will still keep an eye out for that blue and grey Batman
The lamp looks cool and comes from the same comic, I think it's great they did that. The card holder, you're probably the only person to like that thing.
I like the let’s say not “jokerized” or idiot versions, or comedic, but the actual Batman of his mid fifties could be portrayed. This to an older person with arthritis, it’s a more accurate depiction.
Id like just the blue on the original figure, no damage/or better sculpt/sculpted torn cloths. I like the grey of the original, the yellow on the belt of the new one is way to bright, maybe brighten the old one slightly.
Edit- for clarification I meant the new brighter blue and put it on the original + the old blueish-grey and a mix in-between the two belts maybe they could give the new one a wash of black to pick up some detail or brighten the old one (I don't like painted marks on the figure, sculpt it or leave it out, it looks bad)
i definitely prefer the lamp post over the card stand. yes they are nice i have 2 collector editions that came with them but I don't really need like 20 of them you know? more accessories/effects over card stand all day🔥
Blue suit ftw baby. The blue suit contrasts so well with how grim and sore and old DRK Batman (and Gotham) have become. It's nostalgic, like Bruce must feel. It's, to me, the suit he wore at his prime, in which he isn't anymore, at his most hopeful, which he isn't either anymore. That cover where he's all beat-up in his happy colorful costume is just *MWAH*
I was under the impression the lamp was supposed to be the same one from crime alley where his parents died and where he fights superman in the end so I appreciated that as a bonus to the figure. Shame it can't stand properly though, overall still debating to add this one to my TDKR set from mcfarlane as I have the full wave
So my batman statue from the Pattinson movie was crooked af, I actually took the base from that and glued the lamp to that base and it actually made a really cool base/ diorama for my batman returns figure.
This is my favorite version of this monstrosity. Especially since it has the cloth cape. Still thinking this strays too far from what Frank Miller intended 😂❤💙🦇
Reused buck definitely , but the joints and attachment points have been tightened up quite nicely. My original actually fell apart at the chest just removing it from the plastic. Some superglue "plastic " surgery saved him and me from abandoning McFarlane yet again. The impressive new quality though bought me back.
Dude can we just have fun with it? Let's get a dark knight returns, blue and grey suit set in the 80s. if you use your imagination, it would be a beautiful movie.
I've noticed McFarlane reuses molds for so many figures which is why it's hard to buy some of them. I didn't get it the first time cause those ears are too short I know they are supposed to be but they are barely there of this figure. That's the one thing the Mattel figure had over this one.
I'll never understand the want for cloth goods on these smaller non 1/6th scale figures When the cloth capes will not last nearly as long as the figures. Bendy wires have a limited use until they break . The cloth dries out and also falls apart
Clothe career won't last as long as the plastic ones. I've long been one of Todd's staunchest critics, bit in recent years his product has improved immensely. Starting with abandoning his aggravating practice of painting on face complexions. Other than that a defect here and there. My Dark Knight fell apart at the chest just opening the package. Crazy glue saved the figure for me though. I'm hoping this new version doesn't have the same issue. I had Rebirth Batman recently purchased & minor defects. The right hip joint and the left side of his chin on the Bruce Wayne head sculpt is a little off putting.
@@Vidiot-Savant rlly? never met someone who preferred the plastic over the cloth capes. I feel like the plastic capes reduces movement by a lot and portability

mc farlane toys: *starts making black version with cloth cape..
I’d get it but only cause I missed on these 2 lmao

I'm sorry, David, but this is EVERYTHING I want in a McFarlane figure. I'm going to get one.
Reuse, no double jointed arms. Really McFarlane? But heh it is what it is

Would of liked the black and yellow chest symbol too
I wish mcfarlane would improve the articulation and scale

is on my list, the alternate head looks great and this is mostly Batman costume is mostly inspired from a specific cover
Can we assume we're going to get a Mutant Leader eventually? (Would have liked him as a BAF rather than the horse we got last time.)
This is my favorite version of this monstrosity. Especially since it has the cloth cape. Still thinking this strays too far from what Frank Miller intended 😂❤💙🦇
Where did you see a cloth cape?
How close is the blue compared to the mafex blue.. I need to buy a wired cape mine is still in transit

Still waiting for Mutant Leader Todd!🤬

If your T-shirts are falling apart in your closet, you may have a moth problem.
Definitely a minor letdown for a collectible…but it’s gotten me hyped. Lol
Should of reissued Carrie Kelly with a better finish to her face sculpt.
I was a Lil disappointed with the Bruce head.
I'd of liked a little sheen to face, but it's still awesome.

Nice figure I will buy it if I see it in store
I hate cloth capes, so I'm glad this has a sculpted cape.

@mbmyt4973 These are shelf displays for me, and cloth goods on toys just looks cheap and kitschy. I just prefer a nice sculpted cape.
@ fair
i'm a grey and blue guy. i don't care for the black and grey look.
Actually..Randy Schueller created venom while todd CO. Created venom
This Batman is effusive!
Yeah, I prefer the original. Angry Headsculpt and grittier paintjob exudes the character more.
Debieron ponerle el rifle, en vez del poste de luz.... Saludos.
im annoyed mine came with 2 right fists
Mcfarlane nos quiere ver la cara de webones... mejor lo pinto yo
I'm living in Cali too bruh...and I don't like these earthquakes either!!!
