i would suggest one can use a dam to provide sufficient water to Anabel a ram-pump to send water with sufficient elevation to stored in a elevated position so it can be realist to reach a presser of 45 PSI so that a micro hydro turbine can be used to charge up a battery bank to power ones house. in sense the ram pump is cost effective filing up the storage stuffiest to recharge a 50% depleted battery bank . your siystom can deliver's a lack of water to power a harrow turbine
Howzit You need flowing water 0.5 - 5 gal/minute and 30' vertical drop to a 2" ram that will give you decent flow. Pipes need to be high pressure on the delivery for the first 200' and a steel drive pipe is essential. No swing valves, this needs fabrication which will outperform any swing valve combo. You are right, you have to make your own waste valve as well as check valve. Actually Im only making maximum of1 1/4 Ram pump. Swing valves and other valve available from the market 8s a waste of time and money. My Ram pump is running for more than 2 years without replacing waste valve only the check valve make a modificatio to last long.

Hi old mate, can I correct you on the Snifter Valve. This implies there's an actual valve which you don't have, though it does work but efficiency suffers through pressure loss through the hole. The real Snifter Valves have a small ball ( approx 2 mm ball) and seat and what happens it's a vertical valve using gravity on the ball to open the valve to suck air ( take a Sniff of air) then close on the seat from water pushing the ball up onto the seat under pressure on it's pump cycle. A very simple valve, just another type of one way valve really. Have a look at the old Davey ram pumps of last century, you'll see it there if memory serves.
Music makes it easier to edit and I have fun with it in there so it's not just me talking. I have problems getting sound levels right but I am working on it. I suspect that with time it will get better. Cheers

Howzit We will put in solar for the dam. We have a decent catchment and good storage water for irrigation. The was for this ram is an inflow stream that has a yearlong flow but is down to a trickle in the winter. I am using it not the dam. My thoughts on solar is I will need a top storage that I irritated from so that I had water on days I need it. And it is a much better option for volume and efficiency.
