If you've seen any of the other Metacritic Top 100's, you'll know what to expect. And yes, there are a couple of sports games in here, as usual.
What's even more interesting is comparing this video with a Top 100 PS1 list ... as voted on by gamers, which I have also uploaded! There's a surprisingly wide disparity between what gamers consider "Top 100" and what critics consider "Top 100"...
On a personal note, I'm majorly bummed out that Omega Boost didn't make either list. Boo. - เกม

THIS is the game world I can still see and feel in my head when I think "video games". It's so wide and varied. There's creativity bursting from every-which way... A lot of uniqueness, too... Completely unlike video games today, sadly.

In other words Metacritic only lists 188 ps1 games. Of those 188, 98 are in the green, 73 are yellow, and 17 are red. Compare that to the near 500 (of roughly 1600) ps2 games all in the green.
Games not among their listings include Crash 1/2, Spyro 1/2, Medievil, Twisted Metal 1-3, Tomb Raider 2, Resident Evil 3, Breath of Fire 3, or even OP's desired Omega Boost, just to name a few.

no twisted metal, vigilante 8, street fihghter ex2, mortal kombat trilogy, bloody roar, syphon filter 2 and 3, blade, jackie chan stunt master, nba 98, tarzan, road rash, armored core, future cop lapd, fighting force, nuclear strike and nuclear dawn.

5:07 Dino Crisis 2,the game deserved much better. It never got a Sega Dreamcast release,no alternative outfits,and most of all it did not deserve to end so badly it had potential.
I grew up playing this game and RE2. These two games are tied in rankings for me.
@alexmorpheus6762 excellent,good to know. DC2 should brought back therizinosaurs for both the story and the Extra Crisis modes,they brought back Gail and Rick,so they should've done the same for therizinosaurus.

YES! They were even both dropped at the same time-of-day (5pm Pacific time). But for whatever reason, the TH-cam algorithm promoted the heck out of the other video, while not promoting this one at all. So, as you've noticed - the other video has 20 times as many views... THANK YOU FOR NOTICING!

Emulation with a higher resolution, I guess.
Yeah, some emulators like ePSXe alows you to up-scale the resolution and add more anti-aliasing or something.
I only tested that with ePSXe, i'm not sure if FPse allows you to do that.

Do you own the PS1 Classic? If so there’s a $20 preloaded USB on amazon called “trueblue mini” that adds 101 games.
There’s 3-4 versions that you can buy, each with a different set of games.

This ranking doesn't count at all, because a lot of big games of video games history are not in it because they're from 1997 or before (like crash bandicoot, 1996..), and above all the real rankings back then, until 1999 or 2000, were in the magazines, in the video games press.

I always thought people just pretended to enjoy this system in particular. I recall playing many of the games and a lot of the time the only way to play the games was in regular mode, which was too easy, or an extreme difficulty which was too difficult to enjoy.
What do you mean pretended it was amazing graphics back in day Most people enjoyed the ps1 yes Nintendo 64 came out a few years later but it didn’t have a big list of great games like ps1 did yes Nintendo 64 did have some epic games ps1 had way better line ups tomb raider games die hard trilogy crash bandicoot games metal gear solid .tekken games GT games and driver and WWF smack down games many more the was only a few games I liked on Nintendo 64.plus Nintendo 64 games was more expensive of course though Nintendo 64 had better graphics but the line up of ps1 was way better I would play my ps1 way more than Nintendo 64 although Nintendo did have some great games Goldeneye.star wars shadow of the empire .wwf attitude yes I no it’s on ps1 but I prefer it on Nintendo 64.1080 snowboarding Mario 64 and Mario karts wipe out on Nintendo 64 better than ps1 I would have liked them do more wipe out games for n64 felt better
