Making a Minimalist Leather iPhone Wallet
We got a lot of requests for a minimalist iPhone wallet in the comments, so here is a simple handmade leather iphone wallet that holds lots of stuff! Minimalistic design is absolutely up for interpretation, and we just took the term to mean a simple and functional design that is utilitarian with very little superfluous design language.
This minimalist iPhone wallet is made out of two types of leather from our sponsor Weaver Leather - Hermann Oak Old World Harness split to 4oz, and Hermann Oak Natural veg tan in 2/3oz. The wallet is cut and saddle stitched by hand, and features 6 card slots and two slots to hold an iPhone and bills/receipts. We did not design a closure for this minimalist leather iPhone wallet, however you could easily do any sort of closure you'd like from a simple strap to a snap closure.

I like this but I want one where the silicone case is actually part of the wallet… I guess one could not put that little pocket on the right hand side and the. Glue the silicone case to that piece instead… then stitch it down for added hold and protection?

I know this is an older video but I notice that the leather you are using in it looks similar to most of the others. What is the type and weight of it so I can make beautiful projects like you?
Problem I have with the materials used is that the leather weight is (for all I have seen) never given/or right. What this shows is an 8 to 10 oz harness leather. I am still guessing weights and if you guys could give it in your examples, I would certainly appreciate it. Weight and type. Thank you for the videos.

When you end your stitching do you knot the end or just back stitch a few stitches and pull the ends thru?

It’s cool, but i dont think it’s minimalistic. It’s too thick for a modern and fine leather wallet for ur phone. I images something to put ur phone into, with space for 2-4 card slots on top or on the outer side

Very pretty, but this is not a convenient way to carry a phone. The caller will have hung up before you have got it out, and you can't extract it without fingering the screen. The phone goes in the pocket - that's it.
