    Just stopped in to say that thumbnail gave me a quarter chub. That grass plug is a thing of beauty. Bravo!

    One of the many courses I've worked with gave me drums of the plugs to help the bare spots on my lawn. Works amazing, some decent roots and nutrients to stimulate new growth.

      Yeah, these plugs root fast, about two weeks or less.

    Never seen a drag mat on a green . I’ve always used a brush

    Why dig the holes only to fill them up again?

      To remove thatch. Excess thatch can create a lot of problems.

    First time seeing the plugs get dragged all courses I’ve worked we pick them up and use good fresh sand and drag with coco mat

    All seems pretty much similar to how we do it, but we also roll the greens at the end too

    Everyone has a different aerfication style. I like to top dress before coring, we use 648 toros with drag boxes that pile the plugs at the edge of the green plus it drags the sand in a little. We don’t blow anything in the rough so we don’t get bent grass rough. Probably not smart to drag your fertilizer around, put it down last and water in.

  • @durtydan420
    @durtydan420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    We rented a core sweeper. Only took about 3.5 to 4.5 hours to sweep all 19 greens.

    Had a fun time working at a golf course.Mornings would have to get off the mower to push deer of the greens no joke, and getting chased by a one arm golfer trying to hit us mowing.Seen a golf ball bounce off a guys head so we would run over there balls and say here it is.😂😂😂

    Just ran that same airifier a week ago. How often do you airify?

    • @davide6527
      @davide6527 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once a year with hollow times. Four or five times a year with 1/4 inch solid tines

    Hi.
    Good job.
    You put fertilizer just before the top dressing?
    And what about sprinkling time on greens after job?
    6 minutes?
    Thanks

    • @davide6527
      @davide6527 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you. Yes we fertilize just before the topdressing. Some courses fertilize after. I have done both and not seen a difference in the results. We water for 10 minutes after we drag the sand in the holes. We will water again a few hours later to keep the greens cool. The sand will get very hot if the temperatures are above 100 degrees so we monitor that and water accordingly.

  • @hlehle5433
    @hlehle5433 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    So you're drag matting most of the material you've removed back into the greens. You won't deal with the thatch problem that way.

    • @davide6527
      @davide6527 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The thatch was blown off of the green. It is not going back into the hole.

    Nice looking course! What kind of grass are you growing on your greens?
    May I ask why you don't use a cocoa mat? It seems far less potentially damaging to leaf tissue than a metal drag.

    To someone who doesn't understand the process:
    0:22 OMG. They're completely destroying the green.
    3:19 Maybe not.
    3:52 Yup. They destroyed the green.
    5:33 Hold on. Maybe not.
    6:04 Trust the process I guess.

    This job is cool…….if your the boss. If you mow and weedeat and have to push cores and broom greens then it’s slave labor. Did it one season, never again.

    the amount of work, co2, and waste that goes into keeping grass pretty for rich people to hit a little ball into a little hole while driving around silly little cars is both staggering and depressing.
