I picked one up at blade show last week. I got the same handle pattern as you but with the Damascus blade. Smoothest knife on washers I’ve ever experienced
Good video dude. Yeah big fan of Les George as well. Great guy. The Rockeye is the only design of his that I have currently. The Spartan Astor has been on my list.
Wow, handle profile (radiusing, flaired guard, swell) blade profile (bayonet grind pattern, spear point shape), washers...awesome. and I understand you may need a @SatuDave aluminum oxide blast to remove the slickness. Very cool!👊✌️
Never been a big fan of the dagger look, but that is a sweet knife. I actually really like thumb discs for deployment. One of my top fav designs is the 0640 and, like all other Emersons, it uses a disc. It's just more fun feeling to use vs a stud, even tho with a stud it feels like you do get a bit more control to slow roll it. At least you can with axis lock-style knives, since the detent isn't intense. LG is awesome. Still gotta land me a VECP one day. Not the button lock version, though. F button locks 😆
@@chucknunface yeah I bet they do it right. I've had too many poor experiences with button locks on other knives. Granted they were all China knives 😅If I get a chance at a VECP for the right deal and it happens to be a BL, I probably won't pass on it 😁

Any side to side play?
@@chucknunface it has a tiny bit. Not enough to bother me. Yours? I also wish the detent was a little more snappy. Still love it though.
The smoothness on washers is a plus on this one, nice score!
Yes the action is...quite nice

I like his designs. Rockeye is a great knife. I'm sure the Astor is a good one

Good point. May have to hit him up!
Freaking Awesome !
Thanks, man!
Very cool. I don’t get the trend toward slick stonewashed finishes. Easy enough to get it blasted though. Love the thumb disk in 2024.
Heard that. It's not terrible, but a little more texture would be nice
those knurled ones are sweet and if i can get a full sw with a non dlc blade im in! - Love that blade line too, yours is “giving” crow 😂👊🍻🔪
Haha yes it is lol

I bent mine over a little as well
