We have a 24 Lyriq Sport 3 AWD, and the "Guide Lighting" toggle in the Ambient Lighting menu turns on/off the motion detection for the door pockets and front center console floor storage. What that means is that when you reach into one of those spaces the ambient light will turn white from whatever color you have it set to...then when you remove your hand it will go back to previous color (like red or blue). It is so you can better see what is in the storage areas. Its pretty cool. Also, we have the Juniper (greenish) nappa leather interior and haven't noticed the interior lighting to be lacking...so it must just be the all black interior. Great video!! And FYI, we LOVE our Lyriq. Awesome car...with a few quirks. :)
Thank you for explaining the Guide Lighting feature. Very cool. Yes, black interior is a challenge to illuminate adequately much less show on camera :)
any chance youll be doing a high end audi like Q8 with the matrix or even laser? Really curious on if those headlights are actually suprerios to others
Love the amazing review, what a nice car with good lighting, thanks mike for this video, also just an idea you might like, adding a rating system for the vehicles lighting at the end of the video would be awesome!
I’m not sure what makes you think people want their interiors illuminated like shopping malls at night where people far away can see clearly into vehicles parked in dark areas due to all of the excessive bright lights on the interior. Perhaps *gm* wanted to illuminate their interiors where owners can clearly see to read or find things but not necessarily to where their interior lights mimic the day time sunlight. There’s obvious privacy and safety reasons for this. Think parking garage or crowded parking lots in the dark. You may not be able to see people passing by your vehicle at night, but every person passing by will easily be able to see you and everything/everyone in your car because the interior lights are too bright or poorly positioned. Also, it’s good to distinguish the difference between what’s “loud” or what’s more noticeable in an EV. Air flow regardless of through vents or seats is one of those things that you’re gonna hear more in a fully electric vehicle. Reviewers need to do better and be more transparent with watchers.
Lord the nitpicking that you see in *gm* reviews is down right diabolical. It’s good for *gm* because it’ll make them even better but I must admit it can be frustrating. For example the window switches and USB ports are all clearly illuminated but he states they aren’t. Like huh? Thought I was coming to watch a nighttime review of the new Enclave. Headlights, both low beams/high beams aren’t bright enough says absolutely no one that daily drives them. He claims the entire lighting system for night time driving is just barely “adequate”. I would love to know what he drives and what’s the best lighting system in the segment for the same money if it’s not the Buick Enclave.

Great, detailed video as usual. Merry Christmas!
Cadillac has the best lights
Wow! Home run!

Same. My guess is they’re gimmicks. Cadillac is knocking the lighting out of the park without selling lasers.

What kind of camera are you using this looks. Great !!!
you can adjust the brightness of the rear view mirror using the buttons on the mirror.
I got it at the lowest brightness.

Note for the 2025 Lyriq the door puddle lights were removed.

This must be your first time experiencing a real analysis of the usability of a vehicle at night.
great car. horrible dealer ruin it
Hmmm. Our dealer (as far as dealers go) was first rate. No BS.
Cost too much.
It’s one of the cheapest EVs on the market
