Hello my fellow creatives!
Please note that the curve for the fitted turtleneck is a quarter circle so please fold your fabric into just two places instead of four places as I said in the tutorial!
Forgot to update that in my notes so it showed up like that in the tutorial, sorry for that my people! ❤
Thank you so much, this was very helpful
literally a life saver 💚 thank you for the video!
I’m glad I could help! Thanks for the feedback ❤️
Wow am so happy for this ❤❤❤ thanks for you teaching

😅 can't wait to try mine the fitted turtle neck
That’s great, I’m sure you’d love it 😄
This is beautiful 💝💝
Please can you explain how many inches you used to cut the front and back neck width and depth to achieve the fitted turtleneck.
Thanks for watching guys! Let me know which style you will be trying below! 👇
Thank you Godness ❤
You’re welcome Bekee ❤️
Thank you for the tutorial. A quick one i believe there is a mistake somewhere in the measurements you said to take.
For example i have a width of 18"÷3.14=5.7
5.7 X 2 = 12.4.
Therefore the difference between 11.4 and 5.7 equals to 5.7. That would be too wide a width for a collar i believe
Hello Seyi,
The measurement wasn’t a mistake and that is the measurement to get the perfect circle turtle neck.
The issue you’re having is from the 18 inches you’re using for the width. For it to be a turtleneck, it has to be a high neck and a high neck width can’t be up to 18 inches
I worked with 2.5 inches for the width and depth and that made the total circumference that I divided 8.5 inches.
So the issue you might be having is because your neckline is too wide for it to be a turtle neck. Just make the width and depth of your neckline as it should be so you would get your perfect turtleneck.
Hope this helped!
@@folasewaidowu1 Thank you so much. I very well understand what you mean. But even if one goes in by 2.5" on the width and also the depth of the front block and say 1" as the depth of the back bodice, the circumference of that circle after cutting is way more than 8.5.
Hello Seyi,
Oh no, please be rest assured, that’s the exact measurement that I used to make mine.
As I stated in the tutorial, the width and depth of the front and back panel have to be the same
I noticed that I made an error by telling you guys to fold the fabric in four places as it is meant to be just two as we would be working with a quarter circle, not a full circle! Then as it is in the tutorial, the first layer would be turned with the second layer. Didn’t update that in my notes so it showed up like that in my tutorial. 😫
The measurement is this: 8.5 / 3.14 = 2.7. Then
double of that = 5.4
If you notice, in the tutorial, the width measurements are being taken in curves vertically, it's not just plain straight lines so when the measurement that was taken as 5.4 is measured, it would be the 8.5 perfectly
Just try it out and your fabric and let me know your results. Don't forget to add zipper and seam allowance before you start drawing the circle as you might not be able to fit your head into the fitted turtleneck without it!
You're most welcome Seyi, thanks for pointing this out! 🙂
@@folasewaidowu1 Woooow! What do I say. I really appreciate you taking out your time to explain this much. ☺️You indeed are a sweet soul and a good teacher.
I do understand ☺️. Thank you
I’m glad to hear that! Thank you so much for your kind words as well Seyi

Ma after sawing my turtleneck it comes out very tight so I want to know what to do about it
Oh my, the problem is definitely from the 2.5 inches for the neckline width and depth because it is a standard measurement so it won’t work for everybody.
Turn the width and depth of the original neckline of your top to 3 inches and sew the turtleneck again, it should fit just fine then
Too fast in talking.....thanks for sharing still
Thanks for the feedback Ijeoma! I will work on that
