You can flip boats. It is difficult but very much possible. Force push the flipped boat with another boat or if you are close enough then use the push action to get the flipped boat on land. Try to push the boat to an elevated position there are plenty of small cliff edges that are perfect on the islands and mainland Coast. Position the boat either length ways or width ways (depends on the drop size of the cliff) so that it is teetering on the edge of the cliff then place a preferably removable large object such as a truck dual tyre or car bonnet (i used my backpack and a fireplace) near the cliff edge so that when the boat gets pushed off the edge the end that falls first catches the dropped object and becomes stuck in position between the object and the cliff edge then just keep pushing the boat in the direction accordingly so that it falls upright. I have done this a few times. Some far quicker than others.
You will like this then: when you make a fire in a tree you can not use a sharpened stick to cook on it as you dont get the prompt. You thought! You can just scroll down to the inventory of the fireplace and where it says FIREPLACE (0/40) just drag that box onto the sharpened stick that is in your hands to combine and you can cook on it without even looking at the fire. And no, those are not new mechanics.
The annoying thing about these vids is that they are good. I don't want to watch a tips video, I want to learn it all organically, but the quality of WOBOs stuff is such that it's a must watch for tons of people, meaning if I don't watch them myself, I'll be 'behind the curve'.. curse you WOBO, stop being so bloody useful!
This is the mindset you have when you have to be perfect to compete against everybody instead of challenging yourself. When you figure out something new yourself, it's so much more satisfying. But yes, this game is so huge it takes a huge amount of time to figure out mechanics, just like nethack which is said to be unbeatable without a guide
@Weltshmerz If people had to figure this game out on their own with no help from online sources then no one would play this game. Learning DayZ organically can take hundreds of hours and most people arent willing to sink that amount of time into learning a game. Everyone at some point has watched something online or learned something from a youtube video that completely changed the way they survive in DayZ. Without that youd be stuck to joining clans or factions and having senior players teach you, and from experience i can say no one wants to babysit in this game. Very few people are willing to help you when you have 0 knowledge of survival or game mechanics. And even if you do find someone organically willing to help you youve only got a limited time before another player kills one of you and resets you back to square one, which is discouraging for many people.
I also found that putting yourself in the perfect opposite direction between the wind and the fire you're trying to light works just fine even with heavy blizzard, but you need to be accurate
Really looking forward to your next episode of ALL NEW stuff in DayZ, because a lot has changed even in chernarus. Mostly with the loot spawns seemingly, but definitely other mechanics. You're going to have your hands full with three vanilla maps now lol
now that i have played on sakhal for about 3 weeks in vanilla i found that this map could have been really dificult but with all the changes its actually really easy. if i die. spawn on beach => find 2 stones => make stone knife => make fire for heat buff => cut rags and make fishing rod with wooden hook. => cook and eat fish. i also feel like the ratio from fish to wellies and cooking pots has changed. i now get a lot more fish and less pots and wellies. now with how easy it is to get food and water i find this update is actually easier than on vanilla a few years ago. wood hooks have made it super easy. i used to struggle hard before finding food having to chase chickens around and stuff. and chickens would give almost no nutrition. fish in sakhal on the other hand give heaps per fish.
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not but I have found Yellowfoot mushrooms inland on higher altitudes. They're always frozen up there I think, at least I've never found them ready to be eaten. They're quite difficult to spot among the leaves :)
Okay this is something that was discovered during early Sakhal play through. It might have been a glitch and may no longer apply. If you are dying of thirst and have a bottle of vitamins you can eat a small amount of snow after taking said vitamin and repeat process until spring is found. ( it can reduce body temperature ) This technique was used for only a short time. If you reach a spring and have heavy metal poisoning drink clean water until full and poisoning should go away. Stay safe and have fun.😊👍
You can drink an entire pot of water and eventually cure it with just vitamins. You will get the sickness for a short period, but it cures out. Same with bear and wolf steaks. Vitamins need nerfed.
Snow is different, it gives you heavy metal poisoning, however it may work slightly like regular poison from rotten foods or unknown food can. With them you can take small bites of each and you have a hidden poison meter that you can never let it hit full or else you will get food poisoning Which means you can probably eat some snow little by little every now and then just like how you’d eat the rotten vegetables
The only issue I see with boiling your food is that it possibly reduces the durability of your Cooking Pot, which is often damaged or worse on Sakhal. It's tricky to find a blowtorch to repair them too. Great video as always WOBO.
Raw Caviar is the new Boiled Rosehips.... AKA, best per slot food goodie. Boiled Rosehip used to go so hard, nobody even knew....but WOBO, how fast does Caviar go bad in your inventory, as a fresh 'hip never seemed to go bad
One interesting thing i found was that the only way to beat cold permanently on sakhal is with full best insulation hunting gear while also wearing full ghillie suit. Not sure if it was a bug but I didnt have to heat up by a fire for dozens of hours.
Fire on Storm: Drop a bark, bendage or rag on the floor, drop your backpack, pants or jacket on the same spot, light the bark, bandage or rag, then add the sticks and wait until the fireplace is on glowing and then you can pick up your backpack, pants or jacket. (You can make this fire anywere but the ice). Fire in the Ice: You would need a backpack. Once your in the ice you drop the backpack and you place the fireplace on top of the backpack (its gona be floating) then you fire the fireplace and wala! you have a fire on the ice... (For the last one you need to have the fireplace fully crafted).
Bonus tip! Make your burning torches with short sticks and they fit in your inventory. Human fat works fine on them, just as well as animal fat such as wolves, btw. 🇦🇺
It seems like to encourage fishing up a cooking pot, it helps to not use bait on the hook. It may catch a couple fish before you catch a cooking pot, and without the bait, you sit there a bit longer waiting on the yank prompt, but certainly worth it. Fishing rod type I'm not sure matters.
Tip: When your fishing and catch one. Jump to skip the fishing animation and to catch more fish a little faster or get one in a hurry. This works on xbox so far so not sure for pc.
I've found a plate carrier beside a boat that was near a frozen pond, as well as various military loot. IZurvive has these loot locations listed as generic though.
Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure lighting a broom is just as effective as a torch. My buddy and i shared a broom for almost a half an hour after we warmed up with a regular fire, the broom kept bringing us back up to the 3+ heat buff as we would trade off every few minutes
@@halfgoblyn the thing I liked was how long it lasted and the low effort/resources to get it going, tbh I've only messed with torches a couple times but I'm guessing if you buff them with said items it'll last quite a while?
Inversely of zombies hearing you from farther away when running on snow, zombies near the coast (which i am defining the coast as any time you can hear the waves of the ocean) cannot hear you. You can sprint up right behind them and stealth kill them. Hope this helps.
Its actually kinda nuts how many driveable cars there are. I remember my first time I found three separate cars with at least a battery or radiator. Each were only missing one spark plug.
Couple questions. (1) I had a cooking pot go from worn to ruined while trying to cook a full deer’s worth of venison over a campfire, is that normal? (2) Does holding an item like a can, glow stick etc. still inflict more damage? Great helpful tutorials, thank for your contributions for us to be more successful!
What I absolutely hate are the wolfs appearing surprisingly without warning. Got killed yesterday by a wolf pack and lost a DMR with two reserve mags I looted the hours before. Couldn't grab my gun fast enough. Just noticed them when the first one bit me, turned around, tried to draw my DMR, the second wolf killed me instantly.
[UPDATE]: The torch got heavily nerfed, it's not good at keeping you warm now.

He's been doing this for years, its why we love him😂

Dragging the Fireplace to the lighting tool is genius, never thought of that. Thanks!
U can just light a Peice of bark then add sticks it’s simple also
It's a new feature, it released when the map did

“Sakhal these nuts” was all i needed for the thumbs up

As always, we really appreciate the tips on being able to "yank one out more frequently". But seriously, thanks for the work.

Yes but then I burn my boots :(
@@fishingsouthwestflorida1586Take them off to avoid damage😅
