- Got this idea a little awhile ago, taking We Don't Talk About Bruno and turning into more of a villain song. So I found this amazing instrumental and fixed up the original lyrics to fit his perspective more.

The fact it's this easy to turn "We Don't Talk About Bruno" into a villain song is both amazing and terrifying.
Yeah, in the original song they already treated Bruno like a villain, even though his gift is seeing the future not causing bad luck, it wasn't his fault. I never understood why everyone hated him.

@@ilikedairy8539 Either way everyone would hate him. He can't tell them about their future because they blame him for "causing" them. And he can't stay silent because everyone would get mad at him for not warning them. I never understood why everyone hated him, maybe this is why he's single. Bruno's gift is seeing the future not causing bad luck. It's like this, let's say you and your best friend are walking across the street. Suddenly a car comes by, you tell your friend to come back to the sidewalk because a car is coming. Your friend doesn't see the car because they're staring in the opposite direction and refused to look the other way. Now your friend has plenty of time to come back but they don't listen to you. Then they get hit by the car, they're taken to the hospital and they barely manage to survive. Once they made a full recovery they get mad at you, they blame you for what happened. They decided to end your friendship and everyone else starts to hate you for 'causing' the accident because you warned therefore it happened because of you.
Fun fact: Bruno was actually wishing Pepa a long-lasting marriage when he told her in the wedding that "It looked like rain."
After searching in the internet, I saw an article where it mentioned that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck and considering that Bruno is VERY VERY superstitious (crossing fingers, throwing salts, knocking on woods, etc.) He was prolly just trying to get her to make it rain so her marriage will have good luck.
Given how well Félix treats Pepa, I'd say it worked. Literally, who else would be so patient with her?

But Bruno did say at the end of the movie that he saw her sweating so he made that joke (to ease her nerves), which backfired obviously.

in french, my homeland it depend. we say "mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux" (rainy wedding, happy wedding) but some thinks that the true is "mariage plus vieux, mariage heureux" (older wedding, happy wedding) at that it was distorted with the time

It was a light-hearted joke about seeing her nerves. They are explained that in the movie.
Just because some cultures see rain on a wedding day is good luck doesn't mean all of them do. which culture were you looking at? because if it wasn't Cuba then it doesn't apply to this scene at all

This is amazing! I loved Bruno in Encanto, but I totally would have become an actual villain. Gone insane just living in the walls, listening to your "perfect" family being perfect without you...

@@el.7202 Here’s the thing… He doesn’t.
There were only two things that kept him from going off the deep end. First of all he didn’t want Mirabel to suffer the same fate. Secondly he stays close to the kitchen because Mirabel’s mother was the only person to talk about him in a sympathetic tone so he wanted to be close to the one member of his family he felt still loved him. His remark about free food really meant that he was eating his sisters food to feel closer to her like he was part of the family again. Notice how Julieta never has a line during the song we don’t talk about Bruno.
Honestly if they made a second Encanto and somehow Bruno was driven to actually become evil, this would definitely be the perfect reprise to the original song
I feel like if they go for this route, it will completely erase the point of the first part. But yeah, a song like this into the movie with disney animation quality would be supper cool

So Abuela was horrible af to Bruno (purposely hiding the prophecy about the cracks in the casa and made Bruno out to be a vilain in his own familly . I mean she is his mother , a mother should know when her child is socially awkward, not crucified him for not being perfect like his lil sisters) and Mirabel. I’d be perfectly fine with a sequel Bruno being a vilain because he still doesn’t fit in the familly perfect image

Ah yes Mirabel finding a broken ,depressed, hopeless and resentful Bruno and manipulates him to return. After hearing her words and her coaxing. he decides to do one final prophecy. The room swirls with streaking thunder and winds and Mirabel feels the failing joinery of the Casita slipping, she watches as the floor boards glow with a mixture of flickering gold and phosphorous green and starting to crumble apart. Bruno inhales, hands opening and them curling into claws as he angrily starts reciting the vision he sees as dust and mortar begin to rain down upon them. A lout bang and Mirabel wheels around seeing a gaping hole in the Encanto's facade. The Madrigals facade. She runs to the gapping and failing wall, hanging off a beam, her dress billowing in the gusts from Bruno's reading, singing on top of her lungs, "HEY CASITA! ITS TIME TO BUILD SOMETHING NEW! I've been patient! And steadfast! And steady!" Her eyes land on her family, "BLESS ME NOW!!! AS YOU BLESSED US ALL THOSE YEARS AGO! WHEN YOU GAVE HER A MIRACLE! WATCH ME NOW!!! AND I'M GOING TO TAKE THAT MIRACLE!" she bellows as the Encanto rips itself from the the cozy home it once was, and swirling in a mass of debris from the Encanto proper but also all the internal rooms and finally, revealing Bruno. "Ah, Abuelita~, I found Tio Bruno~! Why don't you listen to what he has to say for once!"

I just LOVE how you made the lyrics! They shows what even if Bruno's evil, there're reasons. I also love how he starts to say "they'll never forget Bruno". It somehow gives me "I needed them to accept and hear me all my life so now I'll make them"-vibes. Like he still wants to be loved but bc of years of rejection and anger it turned into such an unhealthy way.

Hello. My partner who was also my best friend learned of my feelings for her. Instead of helping me, she avoids me like the plague. And her friends (who were also my only friends, they were like my family. (I was the only boy in the group)) started accusing me of things I didn't do, all on a simple misunderstanding. When I tried to explain and show them they were wrong about me, they started saying it was HARASSMENT. As a result, I lost my best friend, and all my other friends blame me for NOTHING. Sad to say, but unfortunately this song represents exactly how I feel right now.

The anxiety inducing feelimg of hearing all the negative thoughts when thinking how much someone hates you, is pretty accurate to someone with anxiety and depression

I like how Bruno is in the movie, but I must admit, he'd make a good villain: Not a simple black-and-white baddie, but a misunderstood individual pushed beyond his limit.
At the end where each part comes up there should have mirable yelling "no!" "That's not it" or something like that trying to convince bruno it's not true
I can't help but imagine this version of Bruno is always wearing a mask (bucket or etc) that covers his face and makes it easier to switch into different personalities. We never actually see his face till after the Casita crumbles away causing his mask to crack and we see he is crying underneath. He is free... they all are. They may not thank him for becoming the villain they made him out to be, but at least he is tell we talk about him.....

I can imagine Bruno showing up to Mirabels candle gift serimony uninvited the way Maleficint would even way after pulling a uncle Scare.

this is such an interesting concept honestly! Bruno in canon is such a sweet boyo, maybe a bit nutty due to his gift and being alienated, but he couldve so easily become the villain. what would make a really nice flip on the canon story is whats being depicted in this song: that Bruno is basically going from being lonely to vengeful and a bit aloof and indifferent to his family's plight(s), whether hes the cause or not because it's basically the thought process of "Well, I tried to warn you...you didnt listen". another interesting concept would be if there was potential for one's gift to become corrupted and so, as Bruno spirals further down into his anger and feeling of betrayal by his own flesh and blood, his foresight gift "evolves" for the worse and he takes a path of vengeance. the only logical villain plot i can think of is he tries to put an end to the Encanto because if the Encanto is snuffed out then the gifts will be revoked no doubt and then everyone will be on a level field. they certainly wont forget about him if he manages to end the Encanto after all...

I'm just a little confused on who is singing what. I saw Mirabel's name so I know it's mostly Bruno singing to her and then she sings a bit, but there were times where there was a voice singing something extra over the lyrics on the screen, and then the big mash-up at the end was at least 3 different parts so that couldn't be just Bruno and Mirabel.
Still, great job. If there's 1 thing I always look forward to in any musical, it's a great villain song.
It is Bruno, expect the Mirabel part. The end part is supposed to represent Bruno loosing his mind, all of his past lines swirling together as he decides enough is enough and wants to be a villain. At least that's how I imagined it to be. :)

i want to combine this song and the original into an extended VILLAIN'S CALLING theatre revenge story on how bruno was abandoned by his family, only for mirabel to be the one to bring him to his senses before he goes too far. naturally as the villain his power will be exaggerated as to include fluxes in time so he can summon copies... This would of ALSO been a good story plot buuuuut the movie didn't specifically need any villains it was good either ways with the family having a misguidance towards Bruno. Still....I LOOOOVE to see how the fandom can make the story even more thrilling.

You know something, when I watched Encanto for the first time, I thought that all the Mardigals hate Bruno and they locked him up for all eternity which is sickening, dark, cruel and somehow legit screwed up about somebody from your family member did some bad things and then your family locked him up in the dark which is so messed up to me, but I'm glad with this version of this song though.

If Mirabel and Bruno were actually villains of encanto, then the movie would’ve been a whole lot darker.

I understand the whole point of Encanto is to show you can fix things within dysfunctional families with communication and listening-
But the whole family is still so messed up for just making Bruno as well as Mirabel feel like outcasts because they weren't able to tell them what they wanted to hear, or provide something they just didn't have the ability to provide.
“The story changes all the time” reminds me of Joker. Even he doesn’t remember his origin story. It always changes. So every time someone comes up with one, it could be real or it could be fake. In the Killing Joke(?), he says: “Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!”
Great parody I wish Disney made a separate movie showing this. Obviously I like the other way more but this is good
The reason why Bruno was seen as the villain in the movie is actually happening in real life. No matter who we are, deep inside each of us always try to find things wrong about something. This makes bad things be more apparent than good things. This is why news about bad things about celebrities spread fast and good things aren’t as fast.
He had every reason to turn into a villain.
some say the movie has no villain, the "miracle" made this happen to bruno, alot of problems the characters have is because of the "gifts" they where given by the "miracle", clearly the movie does in fact, have a villain

Holy shit this is brilliant! The lyrics match so well to the melody and also his character, it's a very realistic descent into darkness for him and while I'm so glad he didn't become a villain I can totally see how he would become one.

I find it funny that Pepa, the one with weather powers, was not the one blamed for the hurricane… like how is it Bruno’s fault that Pepa can’t control her powers?
If anything the problem is that her powers are tied to emotions, something notoriously hard to control.

If Bruno had been the Villain, it would have been a tragedy. The story of the movie would have been a tragedy in the classical story structure.

Honestly while I adore how bruno is in the final product i feel like there was a missed opportunity to make him.. not exactly a villain but close,This song bring it perfectly
It is not that far that Bruno maybe did have a thought or 2 of maybe just being the "bad one" before
I love this and it really gives a lot of information from Bruno's side of the story
