I love this for so many reasons. 1. It truly shows that it wasn’t just Abuela or the prophecy that made him leave 2. That pepa isn’t innocent she taught her kids to fear Bruno which spread to her sister and her kids. 3.the song alone is amazing and fits Bruno so well. 4. It perfectly shows how fear and prejudice are either learned from experience or they are taught to us by the people around us and that it can include our opinions about ourselves.
I think that maybe Pepa taught that to their children because of Dolores' prophecy. I mean, Julieta and her children never said something bad about him maybe because Isabella got a good prophecy
@@melanyguillen2206 yeh yeh! If we count the time since Mirabel was 5, Isabela and Dolores had 11/12 or less when Bruno mentioned their prophecy. And to be very honest, i would also be angry if someone said to a baby who is 11 years old something like "you are going to stay single your whole life", it is a social norm not to talk about ugly things to babies because they interpret everything too personal
YES! THANK YOU! I'm so mad with Pepa by the way she denied her own brother for TEN YEARS and then just, 'Awn, I missed you, sorry". Man??? If he turned into a villain, I would be 100% supporting him
Pepa was a blame-shifter. She blamed Bruno for her hurricane when he was just trying to lighten the mood. I also think the fact that she is so quick to change her tune about NOT talking about Bruno only to burst into song about how evil he is makes me think she spent a LOT of time scapegoating him for her own storms cause it was easy to pin the blame on a relative no one understood. You can tell that, despite singing about how he's devilish and malicious, she was willfully lying to Mirabel because she ran over TO Bruno rather than away from him when she saw him.
This whole band has some heart-wrenching and very deep lyrics and quotes. Check em out if you have the time and, I could translate them for you if needed ✌🏻
I like the moment he recalls how he held baby Mirabel and cries... He tolerated all unfairness while it was only about him, but then it was about innocent little girl... Everybody could have hated her if they had known his prophecy - so he decided to leave and isolate himself... Strong man...
In my au he's Mirabel's father and Julieta pretends to be her mom while Bruno is hiding in the walls to protect his daughter and her mom died giving birth to her (this is my au ok if you don't like it then go away)and I ship Bruno X Mariano cuz it's cute and Bruno is my fav character in the Encanto movie
Alma/Abuela: Bruno left because of you! Mirabel: Bruno left because you only saw the worst in him! Alma/Abuela: Bruno didn't care about this family! Mirabel: He LOVES this family.
I love how it intercuts between Bruno holding the vision and holding Mirabel, because that's him weighing what matters more: Him or her. If he'd warned them about her, the blame would all shift to his niece. Everyone would avoid her, fear her, hate her because of Bruno's vision. He'd be off the hook, because he helped save them from this monster of a child. But it would destroy her. He saw it. That's one of the reasons I love this anamatic. Because it shows what would have happened if he'd told them in during his vision. She'd be abandoned the same way he was. It was bad enough that she had no gift. If this had been added in, her life would have been miserable. Even Antonio would have stayed away. She'd have been shoved into a corner because she came out wrong. She ruined everything by existing. Even if Bruno said that's not the full story and it could be her SAVING the miracle, everyone would just think it was him pitying her and been like: 'Bruno, we get you love your niece. But you don't need to lie for her. That little monsters going to destroy your miracle.' Then, when the cracks formed and she warned them, they'd kick her out. She'd be blamed and when the dust settled, the Madrigals would have blamed her. She'd always be the one who ruined everything. So he protected her. At the cost of himself. But the best part is how at the end it shows her coming to get him and throughout how she never feared him. It clearly portrayed her as the kind souk she is, worthy of the sacrifice he made fir her. Because she made it right and brought him home. She went looking.
Actually, it is very hard for me to believe that Julieta and Agustín would have stopped loving their daughter. They are still supportive of her after they find out what that vision was about ten years later. And thus, what I think is that they would have found a way to protect Mirabel from the worst even if Bruno had told everybody. But I can see why Bruno thought like you do and found his sacrifice necessary.
@@Furienna I apologize, I was more thinking about the village and Abuela. I'm not saying her parents wouldn't want to protect her, but it would be hard. Especially since while I don't think her family would nessasarily turn on her, I imagine they'd be uncomfortable around her due to the vision, and again, her parents probably wouldn't care, but her aunt and uncle and Abuela would probably think about it a lot, even if they tried not to. I imagine she'd take Bruno's place as the scapegoat. Everyone treats his visions as inevitable, and being 'fated' to destroy your families home and magic would likely make even the nicest villagers look at her warily and keep their distance. She'd be the source of suspicion all her life. When the cracks started, either she'd say nothing and they'd lash out when the house fell, or the villagers would demand she leaves and her family would fold the way they've always folded. Im sure they'd do what they could to help her establish a life elsewhere, but she'd no longer be safe or welcome in the village, so sending her away would be the likely outcome. When the house fell anyway, a lot of accusations will be thrown around, and the Madrigals will likely ban talking about Mirabel the way they did with Bruno. Either to stop the spreading of cruel rumors or to avoid digging up the pain of sending her away and it accomplishing nothing. Either way, it'll sure look like they blamed her, and it'll never be safe for her to come back.
@@lemonzest6988 Really though, what I think is that Abuela assumed that Bruno had seen something bad in Mirabel's future. Because he wouldn't have "disappeared" over a good prophecy, would he? That is why Abuela wanted to keep Mirabel out of the way and make sure that she didn't cause any disaster. It is really popular to accuse Abuela of mistreating Mirabel out of some malice, but I can tell that she didn't want to mistreat her at all. But she couldn't let her granddaughter jeopardize everybody's safety, and I would say that she was equally hard on everybody in different ways... I think I must also partly disagree with the popular opinion that Bruno and Mirabel were scapegoats. Since except for that hurricane at Pepa's wedding debacle, it is not mentioned that his family said anything negative about him before he hid from them for ten years. And it really was more about that Abuela and Pepa turned their pain about that he seemingly had abandoned them into anger than anything else. And I don't think that Mirabel was scapegoated either except for about the failed engagement dinner. But it really was Dolores's fault, and we can see how the family started to work on their issues already the following day...
I think I have to disagree with that this video is correct about how the family treated Bruno. Sure, it is true that his mother had put a lot of pressure on him ever since he was a kid and probably was frustrated with how he was unable to please the villagers. And I guess that Pepa was angry with him for a while after the hurricane at her wedding debacle. But in the end, none of them had wanted to lose him for ten years.
@@Furienna Hard to agree with, considering that people plain stopped looking for him, and so many years after they still refuse to talk about him and when they do it's only to say how he brought disgrace to the family and the town
@@leandrotoniut1619 But it had been ten years and they didn't know where to look for him. Besides, Bruno seemed to have abandoned them and put them through lots of pain.
@@Furienna Doesn't justify the constant badmouthing. Imagined you had an estranged uncle and nobody in your family knew whether he was alive or dead, after he was missing the door to his old room was boarded and nailed so that nobody would try to investigate the issue, and if you ever asked what happened to him _his own sister_ would say "He ruined my wedding. Don't you mention him again" without a single sign of anyone missing him a bit. Like jeesh, why would he ever leave that environment, right?
@@xydo4art i don't have a favorite part. I suppose it's the song choice, 'cause 1, it fits PERFECTLY, and 2, it's an original Spanish song. SO GOOOOD. 😀
Out of the children I would break it down like this. Isabela and Dolores don't seem to hate their Tio as they were older (about 12) and remember that he wasn't a monster. Isabela actually got a really positive prophecy, while Dolores seems to sympathies with Bruno's burden. Luisa was a little younger, so she doesn't remember as well. However, her protective nature would likely be on guard in regards to protecting her family from the family boogyman. Camilo and Mirabel were both really young and likely remember barely anything. Camilo only has what his mother has told him. That and the other rumors has turned Bruno into a seven foot frame, rat loving demon in his eyes. Mirabel on the other hand has a lot of compassion and empathy. She still hears what everyone is saying, but chooses to form her own opinion.
@@Dragonblade722 What I think is that Camilo made up that Bruno had a seven foot frame or saw people's dreams and feasted on their screams for his own amusement. Still, Camilo wouldn't have done that if people hadn't slandered Bruno and if Pepa hadn't been angry with him and made Camilo think the worst of him. 🙁
This was awesome! I personally don't see Julieta as someone who'd bad mouth her brother, but I haven't seen the movie and this is from Bruno's perspective, so it makes sense he'd feel outcast even from her.
I agree, Julieta wouldn't badmouth her little brother. She's the only one who didn't participate in the "villain song" pile on. I think this animatic shows Julieta being more worried than anything. Then after Bruno sees Pepa whispering to Julieta, he assumes she's convinced and in on the hatred.
During Julieta's conversation with Mirabel when she said Bruno lost his way with this family, she looked devastated that the family's pressure would cause Mirabel to run away from home just like Bruno did. I think she loved Bruno and tried to comfort him like she tries to comfort Mirabel and it scared her that she saw Mirabel feeling alienated just like Bruno was. Bruno made his main wall room right next to the Kitchen which is Julieta's domain and I think it was cause Julieta was the only one who showed unconditional love for her brother.
I feel like Julieta was the most understanding member of the family, and she loved Bruno very very much. You can even tell that her kids didn't vilify him on the first place, while Pepa's children absolutely did (more or less in Dolores' case, because she was trying to understand but I think her opinion is also a little bit poisoned by the townspeople and, if you let me, by her own mother).
Bruno has such a big heart to forgive all of this. 50 years of hurt. First he gave up his childhood to help everyone get a vision despite receiving bad reactions. His mother put so much pressure on him and making him feel bad And then he sacrificed a lot so mirabel didn’t have the same fate, he spent TEN YEARS in the walls hearing them say “we don’t talk about bruno”. That must have broken his big heart so much…50 years of emotional (possibly physical) abuse
t h i s, i know there's a lot of people rooting for villain bruno or him turning bitter because of his family's treatment, but honestly? I stan a true kind hearted king, the kinda person that no matter how bad other people treat him he still held onto his values and didn't let the hurt change is heart. (rlly appreciate ur comment! bruno needs a hug desperately)
Well, we have to remember that he wasn't the only one in the family to be in pain. It is true that Alma put too much pressure on Bruno and on everybody else as well except for Mirabel, who had to be neglected by her instead. However, all of that becomes understandable when you learn about what she went through. And if they didn't talk about Bruno, it was only because he had hurt them when they thought that he had abandoned them and rejected them.
ME ENCANTAN ESAS CANCIONES. SALUDOS
All of that undeserved hate, and for what? For something he could not control? And he even left the family, something he didn't want .... all to protect his niece Mirabel.
small mirabel greeting bruno when everyone else was just looking at him uneasily 😭 my heart aches and bruno really IS an inverse king midas, but not because he ruins everything he touches. king midas was greedy; when dionysus granted him a wish as a reward, midas desired for whatever he touched to turn into gold. this power extended to EVERYTHING he touched. he wasn't able to eat since all the food he touched turned into gold, and some versions of the myth tell of him unintentionally turning his daughter into gold. on the other hand, bruno never asked to be given the ability to see the future. he chose to distance himself from his family rather than potentially hurt them, and lived very frugally for A WHOLE FRICKING DECADE because of it. bruno is the furthest thing from being greedy.
I can totally relate to Bruno. Being empathic, intuitive, psychic, a weathervane, having a healing touch, people tend to get a bit intimidated of you (especially when your premonitions of death are accurate). It's a blessing and a curse. The song totally fits him, too.
OH. MY. GOD. The last few seconds, after animatic ends, with his blocked door in the dark and the sound of wind... I was watching the animatic and it was the less expected thing to me. That hit me pretty hard.
It makes sense that he was alone even before he left, because his room makes it even harder to visit him, people would have to be really determined to go there, but as people dislike his visions, he would probably be really lonely
This is a masterpiece! Every scene kinda makes my heartbreak one piece at a time. the feeling got worse when my mind kinda went is this a 'IS THIS A PAPA BRUNO AU!?' and replaying for a hundred time The kids all were afraid of him except for Mirabel! and that vision about Mirabel then going into a flashback about holding baby Mirabel. They deserve better tbh
Even if it's not Papa Bruno AU, the scene fit so well because Bruno REALLY love his family, so much that he will do anything to save baby Mirabel for a destiny like his, it doesn't matter if is his dauther, his niece or even his sister, Bruno will sacrifice himself only to protect his family from that grim fate he has
They showed him that they wanted him back, and that is all that he wanted at that point. They would have had plenty of time to apologize to him later off screen.
It's actually crazy how this song is just an example of that "Innombrables", that poor people how do anything and the ppl around them just acuse him to do something wrong
I literally can't stop watching this. This is the fifth time I've seen it today since I found it yesterday. I really like this !! You did a good job, I love the choice of song and animatic. Good job!! :)
I don't think I've ever loved a video so much, I don't even have the WORDS. If you see about a million new views in the next week that'll be me playing this on loop. It's so good. It's giving me MANY EMOTIONS and I WANT THEM SKGZAGYGSG!!!! I'd like this whole thing tattooed permanently on my body okay thanks 💖💖💖💖
Oh my god, this is amazing The lyrics fit him so well The bit with him seeing the future along with the epic guitar shred? Art You did such a great job with this!!
I've watched this about 50 times by now, you have such good art and I couldn't have picked a better song for this. I cry everytime I watch this honestly, the way Bruno 's face just FALLS after he calls ''Mama!'' out to abuela shatters my heart. ;w;
I love it. I feel so bad for Bruno. He can't even make a joke about his sister's weather powers ("it looks like rain") without people jumping to the worse possible conclusion about him.

Te has ganado mi like.

This so amazing that I can't stand. The moments of return at house, of drawing near door, ALL moment with vision... They're so thrilling, matching the song and.. and... That touching my heart so much...

I love this for so many reasons.
1. It truly shows that it wasn’t just Abuela or the prophecy that made him leave
And to be very honest, i would also be angry if someone said to a baby who is 11 years old something like "you are going to stay single your whole life", it is a social norm not to talk about ugly things to babies because they interpret everything too personal
oh and on top of number 2: he *sees* the future he doesn’t change it
YES!
"And that weight will be the end of him"

Alma/Abuela: Bruno left because of you!
Mirabel: Bruno left because you only saw the worst in him!
Alma/Abuela: Bruno didn't care about this family!
Mirabel: He LOVES this family.
Ok
This is THE line of the movie
Why does the song fit how the whole family treats Bruno perfectly
No one knows, but is FCKIN AWESOME
Ohh, this animatic represents Bruno's possible experience and feelings so precisely! I absolutely love this piece!♡☆♡☆♡

@@xydo4art i don't have a favorite part. I suppose it's the song choice, 'cause 1, it fits PERFECTLY, and 2, it's an original Spanish song. SO GOOOOD. 😀
@@ZeldaWolf2000 its a good song, this song was made by "Cuarteto de Nos" a Uruguayan band, in case you were curious 😉
This was beautiful and perfect for Bruno. It was also sad as well. Mirabel truly is in a way, the only one who ever understood him.
This is better explaining of bruno's life than in actual movie. I could swear that it was written about him
this song came out at 2017
It is very sad, even in his own home Bruno could not be safe and accepted ...
@@Dragonblade722 There’s also Agustin who didn’t participate, he just help setting up the table but he doesn’t sing
Bruno made his main wall room right next to the Kitchen which is Julieta's domain and I think it was cause Julieta was the only one who showed unconditional love for her brother.
or maybe she thoguht he was bad at first as well before realising what she's done. Asn tell mirabel not to fall for that intergenerational trap too
I feel like Julieta was the most understanding member of the family, and she loved Bruno very very much.
His mother put so much pressure on him and making him feel bad
And then he sacrificed a lot so mirabel didn’t have the same fate, he spent TEN YEARS in the walls hearing them say “we don’t talk about bruno”.
SALUDOS
The part where it switches from him holding The vision to Holding Mirabel as a baby and him crying 😭
All of that undeserved hate, and for what?
For something he could not control?
And he even left the family, something he didn't want .... all to protect his niece Mirabel.
small mirabel greeting bruno when everyone else was just looking at him uneasily 😭 my heart aches
and bruno really IS an inverse king midas, but not because he ruins everything he touches. king midas was greedy; when dionysus granted him a wish as a reward, midas desired for whatever he touched to turn into gold. this power extended to EVERYTHING he touched. he wasn't able to eat since all the food he touched turned into gold, and some versions of the myth tell of him unintentionally turning his daughter into gold.
on the other hand, bruno never asked to be given the ability to see the future. he chose to distance himself from his family rather than potentially hurt them, and lived very frugally for A WHOLE FRICKING DECADE because of it. bruno is the furthest thing from being greedy.

How does this song fit him so well? Incredible animatic, it's such a cool insight into his character!

My heart was shattered, tossed at the wall and smashes along with my eyes because of how accurate and fucking sad it is. You did a wonderful job
This is a masterpiece! Every scene kinda makes my heartbreak one piece at a time.
the feeling got worse when my mind kinda went is this a 'IS THIS A PAPA BRUNO AU!?' and replaying for a hundred time
The kids all were afraid of him except for Mirabel! and that vision about Mirabel then going into a flashback about holding baby Mirabel. They deserve better tbh
Even if it's not Papa Bruno AU, the scene fit so well because Bruno REALLY love his family, so much that he will do anything to save baby Mirabel for a destiny like his, it doesn't matter if is his dauther, his niece or even his sister, Bruno will sacrifice himself only to protect his family from that grim fate he has
Actually, it seems to me that Camilo was the only one out of the kids who was afraid of Bruno in this video.
This song is awesome! Not to mention it fits Bruno PERFECTLY

You really went for the heart with this. Bruno deserved better. 😭
*Bruno Madrigal & Héctor Rivera would make great pals!*
This is exactly what I needed
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS.
I have been looking for something like this, and this is amazing!
I love your art style and Bruno too, thank you so much!
Thank god for the English subtitles. It’s nice to look at under all the awesome scenes 🥰
This so amazing that I can't stand.
The moments of return at house, of drawing near door, ALL moment with vision... They're so thrilling, matching the song and.. and... That touching my heart so much...
NAH CAUSE THIS SONG IS LITERALLY PERFECT FOR HIM
Poor Bruno, I feel bad about him :(
It isn't *his* fault that his gift is like that nor that the future is not positive 😔
Imagine how absolutely miserable and exhausting this would be
