1:42 I have a very similar setup right now in my B8, CTS boss kit 500, CTS test pipe, stock first resonator, 2nd resonator delete and then muffler delete into a quad exhaust and I can confirm it’s freaking loud and drones like crazy
@@slacksthegreat I also have an A5. The AWE system is pricey, but it's well worth it. For me, it's perfect. It's pretty quiet when you're just cruising around, but it wakes up and makes a little noise when you get on it. My favorite part is the sound it makes when decelerating when it gets down to about 2200 to 1000 RPMs. It makes a really nice sound there. It's a nice rumble. The stock exhaust was just far too quiet for my liking. AWE really nailed it for the B8 cars.
First exhaust mod I did on my A4 was the centre res delete and my god it makes it so much louder its nuts. Nothing else yet though, worried for when I go test pipe it may be a bit too much lol
I have a B8 Q5 2.0t, I recently added a Valvetronic designs universal muffler where the rear resonator is right before it splits to two pipes. Best addition I have ever done, had a cluster of resonators and mufflers in and out nothing really found a sweet spot. Now yes it's like 400 bucks for one muffler but it singlehandedly changed my exhaust. I have CTS HF downpipe, front res replaced with vibrant bottle (vibrant bottle did not do shit), to the Valvetronic in replacement of the rear resonator (used to be just straight through, deleted the res) and splits to two race max dyne bullet tiny little straight through mufflers. The Valvetronic muffler absolutely killed the drone when valves opened and closed, but still leaves just slightly enough drone when opened to be almost raspy in a good way with the leftover drone. And when closed, well fk it might as well be stock it is ridiculous. Hit up Valvetronic I promise you will love it
The drone would drive me nuts if I did a lot of highway driving, but overall it sounded pretty good! I have the IE hfc and downpipe -> vibrant ultra quiet resonator (3inch) -> stock S4 quad tips on my B8.5 A4. Running a K04 and APR tune. I'm overall really happy with this setup. It sounds great when accelerating and doesn't drone when cruising. Recommended sleeper exhaust setup for this car, haha!!
Hey man! New subscriber here after seeing this video. Personally, I think it sounded perfect prior to adding the awe midpipe. I also have a b8 a4 and want to make it sound how yours sounded pre awe midpipe. Can you explain what that setup was so I can duplicate? I know you mentioned it throughout the video but it’s kinda hard to piece it all together. Would really appreciate it, thanks man!
I have a 2014 A4 with a fully stock exhaust running a stage 2 IE tune. While I do want to put a better exhaust on it, I like it quite plus it's my wife's daily.
@@FlinkFilms This past Friday I did a muffler delete on my B9.5 A4. Both sides of the exhaust. Left resonators on. Think I may do catted down pipe next, the one made by IE
Yoo my favorite b8 A4 build!! Got super lucky and got that CF diffuser for the low low low 😅 I have followed much of your build keep it coming!! Btw have you looked into the stock (Q6) bolt on plug and play throttle upgrade?
Hey Fink! I have an A4 Avant with K04 and stage 3 with no resonator, two back mufflers (one for each side) and no center muffler. And i also struggle alot with drone so i was thinking about going for a resonated downpipe to counter some of it. From your experience on a scale from 1-10 how bad was the droning you encountered after installing the AWE downpipe with resonator? Also in my opinion i think you would benefit from either 1 center muffler or 2 rear mufflers to counter the drone on your setup. Seems like the way to go with atleast one muffler and a resonator! Love your vids and was an inspiration for my build! keep it coming :D
I’m not too sure how I would quantify it haha. Maybe a 5? When I first put my vibrant ultraquiet resonator on there, it made for a big improvement, so you might also consider adding one to your setup. I think the two rear mufflers might be my next course of action, so thanks for the tip!
OMG Chris!!!!!!! lets get this straight. the pipe from the turbo down to the rest of the exhaust is the downpipe (if you delete the cat it is a test pipe but it is still your down pipe). The section that you replaced that goes between the down pipe and the rest of the exhaust is the midpipe.
Lol it’s kinda bouncy, but it’s mostly my seat rails. I have extensions on them to fit my lanky ass and I think they just have too much give. I think I’m gonna try to hard mount the seat this winter
Love the build series, AWE makes great systems, but the older I get the less I enjoy modern turbocharged exhaust sounds. My buddy has a really fast M3 but I don't have the heart to tell him the car sounds like dog shit 🤣 My flat plane V8 ruined me... and my EP3 will be getting an uber obnoxious fender exit turbo next year probably
My poor a4 sits and I only drive it when it's early AM because of California and their smog rules. I finally took the tune off and replaced the internal parts to stock so I can go have it smogged. However, I am looking at other states to register this car so I can start taking things off it and playing with it...and then moving out of this liberal sh*t state.
Always a fan of this build series, long may it continue.

I went AWE quad tip for mine and have always loved it. And it has zero drone.
Hopefully in my near future. My A5 is straight piped. I was lied to. Its been over a year and i think i hate it now.

please keep the build alive

I’m full test pipe and it’s right under unbearable 😂 but I love it
2011 A4 B8 Stage 2... APR Down Pipe and mid pipe paired with a stock catback... Installing and electric cut out soon

Hey there, which bottle style did you purchase if you dont mind me asking so thar I can avoid it
Vibrant 1792, I have heard good things about the ultra quiet from vibrant but idk. Again, Valvetronic is where its as@@jasontruong9126

How much hp ?
I nominated Tyler Ward for time magazines canadian of the year.
AWE cat back for sure! I have AWE on my B8 S4 and A4 sounds great.
It sounds pretty dang good sounds better than my a4 with the Jhmotorsports downpipe and ecs valved exhaust
The FAA is gonna come get you for your drone problem.
what downpipe do you have, is it catless… or catted?
yuhh test pipe replaced the cat

Ok proponuję nagrać filmik dzwieku 'drona' z kabiny jadąc pod górę w 4 osoby😊 wtedy ujawni się pełen zakres dźwięku drona warkodu buczenia

I need to get my audi a4 b8 2,0 tdi louder i take of mufleers nothing change what do i doo ?????
does it fit a 1.8t s-line aswell?
Great video!! I'm looking to do an exhaust upgrade on my stock A4. Just worried about it being an automatic. Will it sound good?
What are ur thoughts on catless downpupe?
Where’d you get the spoiler?
4:20 no way do you have the stock rev limiter ? 😳
With traction control on yeah. Didn’t want to make too much of a ruckus lol
What inlets are the ultra quiet resonator?
I have a 2014 A4 with a fully stock exhaust running a stage 2 IE tune. While I do want to put a better exhaust on it, I like it quite plus it's my wife's daily.
Keep the two central resonators and do two Valvetronic designs mufflers to replace rear mufflers. I promise you'll be happy lol
Wait so before this mod you just essentially had a down pipe and a muffler delete?
Two muffler deletes but yeah that’s pretty much it
@@FlinkFilms This past Friday I did a muffler delete on my B9.5 A4. Both sides of the exhaust. Left resonators on. Think I may do catted down pipe next, the one made by IE
It sounds bad ass love this car
Where did you buy the spoiler/ aileron?
Your original res delete. Did you remove the first resonator, or the second?
Iai făcut stage 1 ?
did you pull it right back off?
What spoiler is that dude
Man I could use your knowledge to fix mine help!!

Oh I’m not planning on getting rid of it. I have a new catback to solve the drone issue now
If the musics loud enough you done hear the drone

I totally understand the feeling. The older I get, the more I find myself attracted to tamer exhausts, and especially to the sound of v8s
M3 does sound horrible. But the B58 cars sound awesome.
