The popular opinion is the Superblast is the super trainer of the year. For me, it's the Mach X2. Feels much better across a wider range of paces, whereas the SB really only felt good to me at tempo. Mach X2 is also deceivingly comfortable. Hoka did an awesome job with their foam this year.

I wonder what New Balance would say if someone reached out to them about the pricing discrepancy between U.S. and U.K.? Maybe a dealer could provide some insight. If they have a legitimate reason, it would be good to know what it is.

You're making a nice case for the Hokas! I've not had the best luck trying Hokas over the years. Either they're too narrow or cause some blistering somewhere. I did pick up the Skyflow and while the sizing is adequate....it's just now wowing me for some reason so I think it's going up on ebay shortly. If the Mach X 2 goes on sale down the road I'd consider it. For now I'm having a lot of fun in the Hyperion 2 and the Mizuno Neo Vista.

X2's should be here Wednesday.👍🏼 Moved to a much constant and warmer climate this last March, so I'm looking forward to the new foam and the upper on the X2. I passed on several New Balance shoes this year with the whole line not seeming to fit me very well this year, except for the 1080v13. After going out twice in those though, they were quicky retired to casual use as they were just too soft to run in, even being a lighter framed fellow. I saw the 1089v14 coming to market next month which seemed to remedy it being overly soft. I am still not interested in just another boring 1080 offering after continuing to enjoy my Mach 6's, which I bought two colorways in. Super excited to get these out on the road later this week. Appreciate your input, as always.
The Mach are a really nice surprise. Nice smooth ride but with a great range of pace possible. These have something a little extra over the rest for me

Finally got the superblast, had to try far too hard to get a pair, but... they are indeed flaming great. Hoka looks a bit too Hoka for me.
Picked up a pair of SB v1’s for my US size 12.5. Sounds like I need to check out the Mach X2! The V1’s were still $199 US. Very popular shoe.
These are meant to be way lighter so glad I picked them up on a whim.

Almost 300 miles on current B12s and have another pair waiting, I think the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 would be my next purchase, seems to have similar characteristics as the B12s and being a heavy runner we definitely like that firmish foam..Hoka is a non starter for me, exposed EVA + pancake flattening foam PTSD from the rincon 2s..
I'm a medium weight runner and my Boston 12 reached 900+ miles (upper still with no tear and the rubber on the outsole is still decent...). Even with how "old" they are, I can still get some really good responsiveness from the foam.

Superblast 2 is available in pink right now. I want them as my walk around / work shoes when I retire them from running and pink is a little bold for that. I can tell this pink color has a lot of people thinking; They’ve been in stock for a while now in most sizes. The struggle is real

The Hoka makes for a good shoe to do all the things the other can
I like the HM2 but ran a tempo run with a touch of plantar fasciitis in my right foot as soon as I got them and felt like someone hit my arch with a hammer afterwards.
Are you referring to the Hoka Mach 2 or Hyperion Max 2?
@@davec2496 Hyperion Max 2. It’s a good shoe overall but a bit firm until the shoe breaks in.
Great vid as always Ed. Some shoe prices are crazy for what in essence, are daily trainers. Nice to see you rocking the big half top. What did you think of being long sleeved? I guess getting colder now I will be out in my soon.

It's weird but the Superblast 2 here in Spain is available in various places. No problem at all to get them. No discount though. How does the durability look for those Hoka's Edd?

Hi Edd, could the Hoka see me through my first marathon? Reviews suggest the Boston 12 will, and the although not here the Speed 4. It’s my first so not sure I’m ready for a super shoe, which would be your pick? Aiming at 4ish hours all going well!

Asics should let you order the superblast 2. They would easily make more money doing it that way. I would buy them to order 100 percent. They are missing a trick.
