As a german I cant't believe we won the world cup. I mean it's 4 years after we crashed out in the group stage. We only ever made a semifinal once and that was over 20 years ago. It feels so incredibly surreal that germany won

As a Serbian living in Germany it was my dream final becoming true. I watched Germany last year against France in Cologne at the EuroBasket and I was positively surprised how well the Germans played against the French. Their energy as a team. I knew that the game against Germany would be very difficult for Serbia to win. The luck was on Germany's side and they absolutely deserved the win and the title. Congratulations to Germany and enjoy every moment.

Im genuinely surprised about the sportsmanship within the basketball community. So many Serbians are congratulating Germany. I guess I'm a little bit too accustomed to the nasty banter in football.
This here is a breath of fresh air. It was a great final, both teams deserved it.

Team Latvia made me so very proud and was also the greatest surprise.
As a Canadian basketball fan this World Cup was such a fun time. Best basketball I have seen in a while and seeing just how much the game and talent has grown around the world was a treat. Looking at following the EuroLeague in the upcoming season and was wondering if you have any plans to do a team breakdown for the upcoming season? Love the channel and the work you do!

Basketball has been great in Europe for decades. The Americans just have their heads stuck up their asses. They barely gave Petrovic a chance and he's one of the greatest shooters ever. The same for Sarbonis who only came to the NBA when he was old and injured and still played well.
It's not like the EU basketball scene was in Stone Age. This is where fundamental basketball is played, not the circus show like across the pond.
This channel follows everything Euroleague-related to the extreme detail.
I'm not exactly sure about the team breakdown for the upcoming season, but you can expect the deep and professional coverage from these guys. I've been following them for a while now, and they never disappoint.
We will have a video previewing the upcoming Euroleague season. We may also do some breakdowns on certain teams, but as @SingeNS said, we'll be following the EuroLeague closely again 👌

As a Canadian we aren’t as exposed to Fiba, Euroleague or EuroBasket. Im glad to have found this channel cus im more in tune with basketball on an global level, not just North America.
Brother do yourself a favor a go watch highlights from the official FIBA channel. Search for Basketball Champions league games. The commentator(s) will make you laugh for hours!!
They have this crazy guy who shouts completely irrelevant things, based on the country of the competing teams. Whenever my Greek team scored, he would shout things like,
"Oh yes baby! It 's tzatziki and gyros time baby!!"

We germans are incredibly proud of our team and to make a lot people understand this all the players have gone to the german youth development systems in there clubs. That was changed 15- 10 years ago Franz Mo wanger, obst , schröder theis, Bonga , voigtmann, Giffey and the others they showed as the first team of the new system rhat the way to go for us we so happy they worked so hart ❤

Basketball is not the same as it was for 15 years. The game developped further in Europe. The efficiency is better as in USA. A few coaches influenced the German basketball. Svetislav Pesic and now Gordon Herbert brought a lot of experience to Germany. Thanks for that. Thumbs up for BasketNews!

I cannot tell you how much joy and happiness I feel being German and having had taken my nephew of under 3 years to one preparation game of team Germany. We both witnessed history in the making. Best World Cup ever. In terms of competitiveness, this year's tournament showed how much basketball has grown on a global stage. Unpredictability and quality at its finest.
Asia and Africa have some catching up to do, though, but Japan and South Sudan showed we're on the right track.
Why are you not even mentioning the Latvia vs Spain game ? Latvia upsetting the reigning Champs seems more important than some of the other games you talked about

It may not be a European classic. IT IS THE BIGGEST EUROPEAN CLASSIC IN BASKETBALL IN EUROPE. Both nations see basketball as a national sport, both nations have their own recognizable school of basketball (along with the Americans, they are the only 3 schools of basketball in the world. All the others arose from those 3 schools) It's the derby of European basketball. I know for A fact, that Belgrade clubs really appreciate Žalgiris.

as a german i went into the worldcup hoping for gold from the get go. last year just spain was better, and lorenzo brown did everything for them. in abu dhabi we saw that we could beat USA and canada so it was on our team to grind through the hard match ups. but if you saw last years Euro Basket, you are not surprised by germany winning it all 🗺🏆

Hey mate!! It's such a great video to just enjoy the whole FiBa-world cup again, I really enjoyed the ride! As a German I still think it's ridiculous to see our squad as World Champions, but I'm really happy of course. Germany vs. Lithuania would have been my dream final, but it shouldn't have been (yet?), though you definitely got a new sub. Looing forward to other content in the future. Otherwise the Olympics are coming next year, that will be a Basketball festival again!

I predicted US to finish with a bronze, but I can honestly say that was my only prediction for this tournament. I definitely didn't see Germany reaching the Final, never mind winning it.
Great WC. However i would make two changes to the format of competition to improve the tournament even further:
1) Make it a week longer, so there's no overlapping of games douring the group stage.
2) scrap the "second group stage" and make it a 4 teams group stage and then a round of 16, quarter finals and so on.

Awesome Video. As a German I was very surprised that our team was that good and had no weak link. I hope that Basketball and Ice Hockey will close the gap to the prominent sport football (it's not called soccer). The DFB is doing their part by performing very badly and most sport fans in germany are very upset (I'm pi**ed) that they made the announcement of releasing the football coach in the final minutes of the Serbia Game. Looked like the football doesn't want to share the news with the Basketball Team.
