Something I've learned from my little niece. If a little girl asks you to dance with her, you fricking dance, no matter how tough or cool you think you are.
I love both of them, but I grew up with the first one. I think the dancing is better in this one and the acting is better in the 1984 one. The people in the 1984 one we're mostly actors, and I think in this one most of them we're just dancers. They're both still great movies!!
Well, it seems like 2011 Footloose indeed holds a candle to the original and depicts both the main protagonist and antagonist in a sympathetic light. These are key points: - This prologue not only pays tribute because of the original Loggins version; it helps explain and justify the ban: the death of Shaw Moore's son is shown in full detail, unlike the original, where it is only explained by word of mouth. - The remake Shaw is toned down and exhibits more of the "tragic villain" trope: as explained, his son Bobby's death is shown in full detail and the audience also sympathized with his motives. - Remake Ren is also a tragic character and his rebellious nature is given a tragic backstory: his father abandoned him (like in the original) when his mother contracted leukemia and later succumbed to it. Like with Shaw, the audience also sympathizes with Ren in the same level. - The book burning is omitted and is replaced with Shaw and Ren discussing the deaths of their loved ones in the church sanctuary: with Shaw revealing his son's death, Ren revealing about his mother's death makes Shaw realize that he has gone too far, and the reverend allows the prom to take place.
All these hate comments 😂 I’ve watched the original and this remake and I do have to say that the remake is actually good 🤷🏼♀️ can’t judge at first glance like most of you are doing in the comments
I’ve seen both. This 2011 remake is alright. It’s watchable. There’s honestly not much more to say about it. The original is an iconic 80s mess. Not a masterpiece but just so 80s you’ve gotta let it slide. This was like they made a film for adults but to the general standard of a children’s film. If it were a flavour it would be vanilla. Completely harmless because it just sort of exists and tries to have fun.
talk about a generation gap. all i see in this new movie is how the new generation are a bunch of sissy's! there's nothing fun, tough, or cool about this new movie for me to relate to at all! but to each their own!
I've watched this scene a few times just to laugh while he's getting pushed by the brothas, and his initial reaction is to push back and ask, "What's up man, you want some!?!"
Willard squaring up at 1:30 😂 they didn’t even retaliate lol they realized he didn’t know. The ironic thing is, is that Miles Teller is a very good dancer but we all know this by now.
Miles Teller more or less made this movie a lot more bearable than it should. Granted his acting back then wasn’t as amazing as he would do in the spectacular now, whiplash, bleed for this or top gun maverick but even then the potential was there.
This was great. Have the same song be played from the original when Willard was learning how to dance and the kids dance and sing along knowing the words to a song that came out years before they were born
These scenes of him learning to dance are actually good imo
there my favorite

I love how a bunch of high school boys are hanging out with a bunch of little girls, they are like big brothers. So cute!!!!!!!!!
In this day an age, that scene could be misconstrued...... it would only take one 'job's worth'.....
Gunamer's Travels the problem with the modern generation 🤧
They would be a big misunderstanding today

Eriss R. Very many! Outnumbering everyone else

Brutus M. Your niece is 300% right and you’re a smart man for listening 😂
Not only a little girl, I hate dance, but when my nephew ask me to I can say not to him.
Honestly, little girls and elder ladies are the hardest to turn down for a dance.
I’m a girl but I’m the same With pretty much any kind depending on the situation.
Two rules I live by, when a kid asks you to dance .. YOU DANCE. And if a kid hands you a toy phone YOU ANSWER IT 😜 I learned that the hard way lol
Willard got me giggling, twirling my hair and kicking my feet
ME FR !
MEEEE
Let's be honest. Most of us dance like Willard 🤣🤣
I have always found this scene very endearing
Deniece Williams - Let's hear it for the boy
I actually think this remake is very good.
It's better
@@emilijajevtic6858 Better if you're a kiddo born in 2000, yeah lol

I Agree
I don't care if Miles Teller never gets ANY rhythm in his body; he could still take me to pound town.
Jesus Christ😂💀
Mother of god your child will be a limp noodle.
😮🤣🤣🤣🤣
babe what 😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣lmao gross🤣🤣🤣🤣(same)🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 wtf🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Aww rooster . From dance class to fighter pilot 🥰🥰
For a town where they're not allowed to dance they sure dance a lot
You tell people not to do something, they tend to do it anyways.
Nahhh dude they are only not allowed to dance in public. They can still dance when they are alone
@@jethrojorquia5251 I can't believe I never thought of that.
@@darthredneck3815 actually they tend to do it even more, especially young people
@@larirodrigues25 yes
The beginning part was so cute! Those girls actually have good music taste lol!
Deniece Williams - Let's hear it for the boy
I’m never one for redoes on movies, but i must admit this scene was very well executed, those little girls were just drop dead adorable

Mann I couldn't dance for 19 years, I'm 20 now. The feeling you get when you realise you're dancing is amazing

I love this scene so much. Go Willard go willard!
I love that they knew this sequence was so iconic in the original, it would have been a travesty to not use it!
2:02 FAV PART
A good pair of boots and some decent jeans can cover a multitude of sins.
That from p diddy i need a girl part 2
those few seconds look so damn good
Facts, the shot is gold imo.
Me too
This song stands as one of the best positive energy feel-good get-up-and-dance songs of all time.
I’m obsessed this is the best and cutest thing I’ve ever seen I love
That foot move that they did at the end, I learn it from watching this movie
Its from p diddy i need a girl part 2
I dance like this
Miles actually is a really great dancer so for him to act like he doesn't know how to is really cute.
“Of course no one’s gonna know”
"Everybody's going to know " 😂
This is my favorite scene for both versions of the movie…so sweet!
Oh my goodness! I've seen this so many times and it funnier every time! I can't stop laughing and watching... love this movie!
I finally watched this remake last night july 3 2020. I thought it was actually pretty good. Just as good as the original actually.
I watched it yesterday. Really liked it.
Awesome movie
Meh 😒
talk about a generation gap. all i see in this new movie is how the new generation are a bunch of sissy's! there's nothing fun, tough, or cool about this new movie for me to relate to at all! but to each their own!
The music also plays "Let's hear for the boy" by Deniece Williams.
I've watched this scene a few times just to laugh while he's getting pushed by the brothas, and his initial reaction is to push back and ask, "What's up man, you want some!?!"
Yeah that part was always hilarious to me
Found where Bumblebee was hiding for all those years
That's an easter egg that i found at 1:12. XDD
willard being down to fight any time any place we stan
I've watched this movie so many times but its addictive
And so began my longstanding Miles Teller fandom.
So nobody is gonna talk about how good looking is Ren 😡😡😍😍😍
My favourite part of the film and he is my favourite character!!
Sparkes97 same!!!!
Cracks me up that they are forcing him to learn, but then roasting him with “shake it” and “more hips, less hips” lol
One of my favorite remakes of an original
And there both enjoyable
From dancing to drumming to fighter pilot. Miles got it all.
Let’s not forget being a boxer in between being a drummer to a fighter pilot. Miles Teller honestly has done a lot
Oh my - Miles Teller has grown into a mighty fine man in Top Gun Maverick!
Miles is adorable LMFAO
Yes. He went from playing nerdy juvenile roles and he evolved in to a handsome charismatic leading man.
It’s so cute there cheering on the little girls
i love how Willard tries to fight when learning to dance lol
Willard squaring up at 1:30 😂 they didn’t even retaliate lol they realized he didn’t know. The ironic thing is, is that Miles Teller is a very good dancer but we all know this by now.
So this is where Rooster learned to do the wiggle
I love this MOVIEE so MUCH !!
"Gangstas don't dance, we bounce" seconds latter... HEY HEY HEY, we are just dancing man, HUAHUAH HAHAHHA
I guess you can imagine Rooster getting his glare performance and musicality during his teen phase.
the girls is so sweet 😂, his a great dancer now beacause he was have a good teachers (sorry im french my english is so bad sometimes)
It's okay, English speakers are bad with English too.
They should've played Great Balls of Fire lmao that would've gotten him dancing
I love Miles Teller
This is one of my favorite movies
And now he's dancing on the beach 💕
chris penn was so awkward and iconic it fit so perfectly but this is just as good
At least they used the original track.
Footloose instantly became my favourite movie the first time I ever watched this movie.
That fight dance lmao 🤣
miles was so young awww
I love how they used the original version of this song
Yes, they play the music "Let's hear for the boy" by Deniece Williams! 🎶😉
I love miles Teller
This remake it better then original, this became my favorite movie.
i watch this every day
I love that little cowboy so much
I love it. you were great in that movie and Top Gun too. well done
I think this remake was best from all the remakes because they change it a little bit. I love these actors and how they portrait each one often 80s
Miles Teller more or less made this movie a lot more bearable than it should. Granted his acting back then wasn’t as amazing as he would do in the spectacular now, whiplash, bleed for this or top gun maverick but even then the potential was there.
Here for the OG Miles Teller shimmy after seeing Maverick
I can’t stop watching that
I LOVE MILES SO MUCH!!!!
This scene was funny because he had no ryhem 😂💗🎶🎤
Rythm
A piece of casting genius it must be said
I could watch this scene on loop for 10 hours
1:46 me dancing hahahaha
I will say, Miles Teller plays a great Chris Penn
before the football scene from top gun we had this
This was great. Have the same song be played from the original when Willard was learning how to dance and the kids dance and sing along knowing the words to a song that came out years before they were born
I actually loved this movie ❤80s hits
This scene made me fall in love with Miles and the girls ❤

Went from trying to learn to dance 😂😂 to a navy pilot
miles is the perfect person to pay willard.

I prefer the original movie but am glad they used the original version of the song in the movie.
Love miles teller!
i love that scene

My 2nd all favorite movie behind The Longest Ride. Wow, especially love this scene.
Love this movie until now first time I see this movie when I was younger but now I still in love with this movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
I’m glad they kept this song in the movie the only original song from the original movie
