In todays video I'm going to rank all Anthrax full-length albums, the whole discography from Fistful of Metal to For All Kings. But also classic albums like Among the Living, Spreading the Disease and Persistence of Time. This is Rank 'Em All where we rank every album from different bands and today we're going to rank one of the premier thrash metal bands in the world, one of the big four of thrash and I'm of course talking about Anthrax. So here is my ranking of a fistful of Anthrax albums. Enjoy ;)

Stomp 442 is so forgettable. Every song is basically just a relentless, tuneless pile of shit except the last.

Hell yeah, Fistful of Metal on #1! Absolutely deserved, thanks in no small part to brilliant Neil Turbin, one of the best thrash vocalists of all time!
Fistful and Spreading are indeed great albums..but I think Among the Living is the perfect proof of the essence and spirit of the band.

We've Come For You All was my introduction to Anthrax as a kid so I remember being totally surprised the first time I heard Fistful of Metal lol

Why Fistful of Metal is so low? :(
Was glad to see State of Euphoria getting some love. It usually ranks pretty low.
It's better than all albums that followed it, except persistence of time. :)
That album was a big letdown after Among The Living - the guitar and drum sound isn't nearly as heavy and the songs aren't as good. Even the band said that album was rushed and the material needed more tweeking.
Also I'm an anthrax superfan and this ranking hurts me but I respect it and love this channel!!

Not as big a fan of Anthrax as I was back in the day, but I still listen to Spreading The Disease somewhat regularly.

I prefer the more serious Anthrax in leather jackets. More so than the cap and shorts rap metal Anthrax. :)
Among the living, State of Euphoria, Spreading the Disease, Persistence of Time and I'm the man are my favorite Anthrax records. I have been trying to find Fistful of Metal. Please rank either Mercyful Fate or Savatage next. Love your rank em all videos.

I've rarely listened to Anthrax but it's nice to reflect back on them because they're just generally awesome 😃 I think Anthrax's Fistful Of Metal *is* their best because that album is the one I grew up with and it's a childhood classic.

The absolute number 1 for me is Sound of White Noise. The production, the songs everything is perfect on this !
I discovered the albums with Belladonna afterwards, and I much prefer John Bush even if he is not the singer of the classic line up. I have a lot of trouble with Belladonna's voice. Among The Living is the one of this era.

Priest likes to forget the Tim "Ripper" Owen era. But I thought Jugulator was epic! Especially the song "Blood Stained." That was like Priest meets Slayer meets Pantera meets Motorhead.

I do want to say however that just because I put some albums in low rankings doesn’t means I don’t like them. Anthrax is my favorite out of the big four. I do like a lot of John Bush’s work even though I prefer Joey without question. In a way, I’ll take anything Anthrax has to offer. I just like the ones I put in top 5 the most!

I think that the first 5 Anthrax records are complete records..maybe sound of white noise to. The rest of the albums feel like half a record of good anthrax songs then half a record of experimentation..which sometimes is good but sometimes causes a switch off..I think we've come for you all is a classic example of this..the first half is solid.

Last full album I bought from Anthrax was Persistence of time, so my top 3 is: 1-Among the living, 2-Spreading the disease, 3-State of euphoria. I did not care for the Bush era (I like him btw).

Attack of the killer b's I think is something you had to be there at the time to appreciate. When it came out I really liked it, but it did not age well.
Agreed. I had just got into metal and was 10. It just came out and had so many great songs. Epic to me to this day. 1/4 of it is yikes though lol. Record means a lot to me, good call!

I can't argue with the top 4 choices, but I would have ranked them a little differently. I was very surprised to see Worship Music and For all Kings as low as they were. In my honest opinion, all of the Joey albums are better than the Bush albums.
My most favorite Anthrax album is Among the Living. Persistence of Time and Spreading the Disease are my favorites too.
Not sure how others feel about this, but State of Euphoria isn't really among my favorites. It's just alright and there are a few good songs. While it's great that Joey Belladonna is back, the modern Anthrax albums are not what I consider classics but they are somewhat good and tolerable. They still rock to a degree.
You have to forgive me if I'm not interested in the John Bush albums; they just don't interest me since Anthrax changed their sound and style. I give it a shot, just doesn't feel the energy. You got to forgive me more that I don't like their rap songs I'm the Man and Bring the Noise. And Fistful of Metal isn't bad but is just ok to me.

In my opinion their first five albums are great. I didnt like the albums that followed. The only albums i really enjoyed after the 80s were the albums: For all kings and Worship music.
I guess I'm not the only one that thinks Sound of White Noise is overrated
In my opinion Among the Living is the best Anthrax album. And by this album I start to listen to thrash metal in the end of the 80's.
it's the album with the biggest hits and so, sounds like a best off album, but I prefer the first two, they are a bit more straight forward.

I am the law is among my favorite metal riffs of all time, it's just flat out badass. Among the living is packed with awesome riffs the whole way through, really. I definitely agree with you about those weird sounding Bush era albums, they're so bad that they need to be erased from the pages of history and never spoken of again, lol. 🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻

This is a tough one for me because I completely checked out after Joey Belladonna's departure. I'll admit, I like "Sound Of White Noise", but pretty much the rest of the John Bush era sounds like a crappy Pantera rip off to me. However, my top 4 would have been way different. This is how I rank them:

Wow! My top two are "Fistful..." and "Spreading..." (any order), and my worst is "Stomp...". I guess that I don't need to think about ranking albums any more. You seem to be doing a good job for me so far. In conversations with people, I will just refer them to Ruthless Metal.

I agree but it didn’t hold my interest to want to listen to the next one. Definitely a downward spiral for many years. But hey we’re having a conversation and everyone has their favourites. Also been loving the Anthrax 40 year celebrations vids they’ve been putting out. Great fun to watch and certainly brings back the memories 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Even if i agree or not, i really love the countdown of the lists on ruthless metal! i will love to see an maiden, tankard, exodus or venom list like these. For me, not a huge fan of the band, i have to admit that spreading the disease and among the living are all time classics. I love worship music and for all kings, two pretty decent heavy/thrash modern albuns.

Fistfull Of Metal, Spreading The Disease, and Among The Living are the albums I listen to most. The other albums I listen to occasionally, and some never.
Edit: Testament should have been in the Big 4 instead of Anthrax. Just my opinion.

Anthrax was laying the groundwork of thrash, Testament was a little later.
Also, Anthrax has a very unique vibe and sound that gets them a spot in the big 4, imo.

It's a bit over the narrator's head. A very weird ranking other than some of the later albums being ranked worst.

(I'd choose 'Spreading the Disease' as my favorite Anthrax album, partly because of nostalgia. 😌)
I would put Sounds of white noise as the best Bush album, but below Worship Music, also State of Euphoria above persistence of time, and Spreading the desease is my personal favourite

it might be a bit underproduced but it's the album with the least bullshit on it, just straight ahead speed & thrash. :)
