Great reaction! It's easy to forget that Su is just 5ft-2in (157cm) because when she is on stage she has the presence and poise of a 7 foot tall singing queen!! By the way, this is at the prestigious Budokan arena in Japan. The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, Cheap Trick, and Bob Dylan have performed there too. This is one of my #1 favorite BABYMETAL song because it is the most badass yet touching songs I have ever heard: "Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." . For me, I believe she is singing this song before she goes to battle.🤘🦊🤘
Nice reaction! I don't see Akatsuki reacted to very often anymore. The 2014 Budokan version that has been mentioned many times is a classic and a must see but I'm glad you reacted to this one. It's nice to change things up instead of always seeing reactors react to the same videos day after day after day.
Great reaction. The first time there was a fight scene during the guitar break it was Su-metal fighting against a Su-metal doppelganger (Legend D on her 15th birthday perhaps). In December 2017 at Legend S (her 20th birthday celebration) the same thing happened, but her doppelganger was in what looked like one of her older costumes. The Muscle Metal dancers supported Su and Moa on the 2018 tour (Yui was still a member but was unable to perform or tour) and they would perform their fight choreo when Su performed 'Akatsuki'. They returned specially for the Budokan shows in 2021 where this was filmed. There are a lot of other performances where there was no fight choreo and the Kami Band guitarists got the spotlight for that part of the song. You have already been told about the Legend 1997 'unfinished version' ... same song, lyrics and melody - completely different feel.
_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥 You can hear in the first SuMetal scream the right way to pronounce this word without the "da" at the end, it reads something like "ah - kats - key", the u is silent. She performed this same song live at Budokan 2014 when having only 16 yo, and you can clearly notice the difference between teenage SuMetal vs. grown up vocals and technique in this version. Akatsuki was one of the highlights live at Budokan 2021 when celebrating their 10 Years, of course this SuMetal performance is one of those beautiful and powerful solo she had back then. The fight choreography is another tribute to early performance either when SuMetal was fighting against her doppelganger at one of the Legend "IDZ" in 2012/2013, or later in 2018 when the muscle-metal did the fight between them at Dark Night Carnival concert. When the music stop and switches to the ballad piano version is a tribute to Legend 1997 held in 2013 when performing Akatsuki Unfinished Version. Pretty much is a power/metal ballad song about fighting for her love. The crowd unfortunately was a prerecorded sound because this was made during pandemic situation and no one was allowed to shout or doing mosh pit, also the capacity was cut to half, everyone had a great time thou. This song is a tribute to another legendary visual-key Japanese band called X-Japan - Kurenai (i recommend that song), and if you remember one of the founder member, Yoshiki, got also another tribute with the song Headbanger!! Btw SuMetal said in a recent interview the first CD she got from a gift was an X-Japan CD. Next suggestion to enjoy a Black Babymetal: - Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997 Thanks for sharing this special version.🦊🤘🔥
Nice one, thanks! Despite this version from 10 BABYMETAL Budokan 2021 is superior in every technical aspect, I still prefer the Budokan 2014 one. In part because of the fight scene being a distraction from one of the best guitar solos ever. The scene is, by the way, a reminiscence of another two previous live performances of the song. The thing is that they hadn't played it since 2018 and they performed it again during these concert series (in two of the ten shows actually) probably to never perform it again. "Akatsuki" is and will always be one of my top favorite songs of all time. 🤘🦊
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this very performance at Budokan 😍. On Feb.19 (and 20,too), 2021, Akatsuki became a very special song for BABYMETAL fans again. This song had not been performed for 2 years and 4 months, but they revived it that day. After an exciting battle choreo by the muscle sisters and a subsequent totally silent interval, Su-Metal showed up like a goddess standing solely in the center of foggy lake. It was divine beauty. Honestly I can not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. (Even after I viewed Blu-ray videos released thereafter) There is one certain thing, however. I felt celestial bliss there, especially bu Su's matured rich voice.
Nice reaction! This is the song that first introduced me to BABYMETAL! The first Akatsuki I saw was the version with the two guitarists prominently featured🎸 "Mortal Kombat Ver.?" It was not. Of course I love this performance❤From then on, for about 5 years, not a day goes by that I don't listen to BABYMETAL.
I'm really loving your BABYMETAL reactions. I'm 48 and have only been a BABYMETAL fan for about a year, but I'm already almost completeely obsessed with them. Every song is great. The only other artist I've loved this much is Meat Loaf, which if you think about it, makes sense because Koba and Su are like Jim Steinman and Meat, starting their own genre and killing it. That and Su definitely has Meat Loaf level passion in her performances. Akatsuki is my favorite BM song for sounding like something Jim would write himself. Plus, we get the bonus of seeing Su in full on Goddess mode with this performance. ... As a side note, Su is so professional and composed that when she graduated from Sakura Gakuin, most of her classmates were crying, but she stayed composed ... When Su preformed Akatsuki (Unfinished Ver) at Legend '97 she cried, and you could see her makeup running down her right cheek. ... THAT is epic. KITSUNE UP! #NotACult
I was around 48 when I first discovered Babymetal. I am a bit weird I watched every Babymetal video on TH-cam even going back to the girls other projects like Karen Girls and Sakura Gakuin etc.
@Jordan-Ramses I don't find that weird at all. Knowing history and mythology like I do, I could actually make a compelling argument that Suzuka really is divinely gifted, seeing how she's grown and developed is like watching the evolution of a demigod in real life lol. It's fascinating as hell. It's mind blowing to think that she's accomplished so much and still be in her 20's. We get to witness a legend as it happens. I already want to write a book about it lol.
Younger Su singing this back with the OG Kami Band featured just an incredible guitar duel/duet where the fight scene(?) in this version was-just never understood the fight scene. Good job on the reaction.
31 minutes online... I´m an early bird 🤣 Great reaction! That version is vocally great! Musically I like the Budokan 2014 version better. It´s a matter of personal taste, but for me the classic Meat Loaf style of ballad of the Budokan 2014 version suits much better. "Muscle Metal" looked a bit strange in this performance, IMHO. But they just tested quite much in these hard times, so it´s ok for me 😉
Amazing as always! If you liked this one, *Amore* is a similar style, which I enjoyed more. *Amore* from *Wembley 2016* is best, but only logo'd versions out there (and probably a tougher one on copyrights), so be aware. Worth a shot, but your call of course. The Fox Festival version is also solid, while "not as epic" as the Wembley version. Perhaps much safer. 🤘🦊
While i like this version you cant beat the version from 2014 Budokan Black Night,Su is totally on fire 🦊 If you want to see the original version of this then Legend 97 Akatsuki unfinished where a 16 year old Su sings with the backing of just a piano though have to warn you it can bring a grown man to tears.

SU-METAL surrounded by flames is too cool🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Some of these performances feel like they’re better than Broadway level shows and I’m all here for it.

I want to have a wide range. It may take longer for people to find and enjoy but that's okay. I'll get there in time. Thanks for watching.

Absolute bliss this song ❤
As a future reaction you may might want to compare this with Akatsuki unfinished version from the Legend 1997 concert ❤🦊🤘
I'll check it out.

Ah, the Wembley version... sweet memories! 😊
@@Wolfpack94487 were you there?
@@Ganimal83 Wembley? I wish I would have been... but I remember the first time I watched the video of that very special concert. It blew me away 😃

You need now to checkout Akatsuki Unfinished to see a full on ballad, and see how much emotion a 16yr old Su can put into a song. 😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
I'll check it out.
IN my opinion ..The Live version of Akatsuki Live at Budokan Black Night is much better
Pass. 🦊🤘

👍 👍
This is terrible. Has nothing to do with NIGHTWISH. OR FLOOR. !!!!!!!
Confused. Not at all making that comparison. They are completely different. Sorry if the verbiage offended. Not my intention. Thanks for commenting. 🙌
Thank goodness. I'm not saying Nightwish is bad but I don't like it. Not everything is for me and that is fine.
