30:22. When you think about it, The Incredibles is 1 of the Darkest Disney films given it's 1 of the few with a confirmed body count of more then just a few characters. Sure, as far as I can tell Atlantis The Lost Empire had the most, but considering most Disney films have at most just a handful of deaths, knowing that at least a dozen Supers were killed by Syndrome is pretty dark for a Disney film.
45:40. Syndrome acted like a superhero for only 1 minute & he made 3 major mistakes:
1) He threw threw the truck behind him without caring if it would crush anyone or explode.
2) He started celebrating that he damaged the robot despite the fact it wasn't defeated yet.
3) Once the robot attacked him he fled in the direction of the civilians he was trying to save.
It's no wonder that after the Incredibles & Frozone defeated the robot later no one seemed to remember Syndrome or care he was missing.
51:46. There's a fan theory that when Syndrome started out on his revenge plan, he went to Edna to have her make him a super suit, & since she missed those days she probably was alright with making him a suit, but she included the cape because she sensed he wanted it for bad reasons & thought it could backfire on him like it did for other Supers.
Understandable she’s so loved 😩 I love that they had her so strong the writers were ahead of their time

One heartbreaking detail in the film is that a lot of the superheroes that Syndrome previously killed, were guests at the Incredible’s wedding at the start of the film. Hence why Bob was so devastated when he read through the names. They weren’t just fellow supers, they were his closest friends, Frozone’s the only one still alive. You can even see them cheering in the pews at 6:54
And to make it worse, Frozone was the next one to fight the Omnidroid because when Mr. Incredible was in the Kronos database, they already had Frozone’s location. Mirage was tailing him but ended up finding Mr Incredible instead. That’s why the first fight against the Droid was in a Volcano, because it was meant to put Frozone at a disadvantage.

Gazorbeam is the only wedding guest to be killed by Syndrome. The four supers behind Gazorbeam are actually the cape wearing heroes Edna told Mr. Incredible about
The reason for this was due to animation limitations back then, as Pixar already made the models of those heroes for the cape scene they reused the models for the wedding rather than wasting money creating other heroes

Helen Parr: The Mother. She has to be flexible and take care of many things at once.
Violet Parr: The Teenager. She's insecure, feels invisible, keeps people away from her
Daschle Parr: The Boy. Full of energy. Can't slow down. Always wants to be challenged.
Jack-Jack: The Baby. Babies have unlimited potential. They can become anything they want!

I like to think those first powers were a representation of how babies are sometimes. They warm up very fast, they seem too heavy sometimes, and other times they could seem like a gremlin, everything that happened lol

Definitely one of my top 5 favorite animated movies.
Right up there with The Iron Giant, Titan AE, The Lion King, and now Puss in Boots: The Last Wish sharing 5th place with UP, Ratatouille, and Walle.

Also, him showing off to people showed that he cared more about glory than saving people. The civilians would’ve picked up on that eventually.

It’s sad that it’s actually happened too! One woman got resuscitated after nearly DROWNING, and she sued the person for putting his lips on her. I don’t think she succeeded, but it was such a stupid thing 🤦♂️

One of my favourite details about Violet is that, after jumping in front of Dash and putting up the hamster ball force field, she states she doesn't know how she did it.
She was full on willing to take all those bullets for her little brother.
This is one of those movies that were already good when you were a kid, but it just gets better the older you get

Absolutely one of my favorite childhood movies, especially for the theme it represents and how well it handles all the characters as well, had the two disc collection of it too with all the bios of the supers and the extra features which I had hours of fun with as a kid...

@@xuvial1391Agreed. The 2nd movie could’ve been fine if it was a stand alone, but because it’s a direct follow up/continuation of the 1st…when you compare them…it’s disappointing af. It’s a mainly goofy, one-note film, not bad by any means but the first one is just a tier of its own.

I think it is Mulan who has the most on screen deaths. As for dark yeah Incredibles goes there especially showing the skeleton of a dead hero, who most likely died of his wounds alone in a cave.
19:08. While it's never said on-screen, this film takes place in an alternate 1960s U.S. where they have modern day technology like computers, drones, & A.I. (or at least the 2004 equivalent versions of them).

As an American girl, it depends on the person - I like splitting things unless they insist on paying for me
The powers are loosely based on family archetypes
Mr incredible - the dad is supposed to be strong and indestructible
Elastigirl - the mom has to account for a million things at once and be adaptable, so she can stretch to fit any situation
Violet - teenagers often want to go unnoticed and be left alone, so her powers are force fields and invisibility
Dash - Boys are full of energy, so super speed
Jack-Jack - Babies cant do much, but the one thing they have in spades is potential. They can become anything. So hes a shapeshifter, and can literally become anything
If I could choose, I would take Jack-Jacks power because shapeshifting is broken. But not counting him, I'd go with Violets.

Bruh, this movie takes me back... TuT Such a good memories, such a good movie.
Fun fact, the powers of the family are attached to the roles/ stages of a normal family.
Mr. Incredible is super strong because dads are supposed to be the strong figure of the family, the entire foundations of the family rests on the father figure.
Ms. Incredible is elastic af because mothers are "flexible", they take care of many aspects of the house and even work places, they adapt.
Violet can turn invisible and make force fields as a reference of teenagers that tend to feel somewhat isolated as a part of that stage of their life, maybe even feel ignored or wanting to disapear as an advantage.
Dash is super fast because kids are mostly energetic and troublemakers, like his pranks to the teacher.
Finally, yes, Ms. Incredible looks good... if you know what I mean. Heck, even as kid I was like: Damn! That good looking woman has three kids? I aspire to look like that one day".

As you've probably been made aware Jack-Jack's power is "Jack of all trades"
When Jack Jack was showing off his powers (fire, metal, demon transformation) to Syndrome you can clearly see the latter's raw horror as Jack Jack was attempting to murder him in the sky. 🔥

The Incredibles is easily in my top 10 favorite films. This is about as ironclad of a superhero family movie that you can get and it was game changing for both the genre and animation. Honestly, I could talk about it for hours

Not everyone wants to be saved. Forcing someone to live who doesn’t want to can be a terrible thing. But there was a time when people who were injured while being saved would sue for the injury which made people less willing to save people. Someone attempts CPR but doesn’t know how and breaks their ribs but manages to save them- things like that. That’s what the current Good Samaritan laws are about. As long as you don’t know someone doesn’t want to be saved, even if you injure them in the process, you cannot be sued for an earnest attempt to save their life.
21:00 the robot he fights here was actually meant to fight fro-zone. It took him into a vocalno which would’ve neutralised frozones powers and has a blue light , in the fire building scene mirage is tracking frozone but changes plan cause she found mr incredible with him

If there are superpowers, I would go for:
1. Flexiblity (I can prioritize with personal, school, and work)
2. Invisibility and Force Fields (prevent myself from embarrassing moments, and using force fields for protection)
To this day I remember the experience of watching The Incredibles in the theater. There were no kids, only adults in a full theater. The energy was awesome.
I loved the style… 60s retro futuristic with a score to match. An excellent superhero movie. Probably my all time fav even above Marvel.

This was the first superhero movie I've seen in which they show the consequences of being a superhero, and I loved that.
This is one of the best Pixar movies ever. The Incredibles are the best superhero families of all time. Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone was spot on and Jack-Jack has new powers. This is funny and epic

I hate how they screwed Mr. Incredible and all the heroes in beginning but this is a damn great movie. And everyone is unique, but not everyone is special.
easyyy one of the best superhero movies ever made as you guys said it literally has everything a great (superhero-)movie needs! I think you should also check out the sequel it's not as perfect as the first (this film will forever be legendary) but it's a very good movie as well plus after 14 (!) years between release dates they got all the original voice actors back (except for Dash because of course he's too old now)

Seriously, watching three grown men lean forward and be so invested in the final battle in a cartoon was AWESOME. Pixar is SO GOOD at making movies for adults every bit as much as for children. This is one of the best animated movies of all time and thanks for sharing your reactions.

IMHO it's the exact opposite. The ones who are likely to demand that they pay for their own are the ones most likely to say, "You don't OWN me" when they're unfaithful.
It's not that a guy owns a woman if he pays, it's just that somebody like that is always looking for the door. They have no commitment.

My only statement was about the few females that would demand to pay their own. It evinces a mindset that they are not looking for a partnership, but more of an ad-hoc relationship. (again, in MY humble opinion)

Mr. incredibles boss was the one who sued him years ago for "saving him, when he wanted to die"!
That means if Mr incredible had let him die and stage it as self offing when he was going to be fired, he would probably got away with it.......
