    Jeff did a great job. Without a dry stack in the way, it really allowed you to open it up more. It does look larger and roomier for an 80. REally liked the finish and wood work.

    Amazing! I can't even comprehend all the thought that goes into planning out and building a ship like this. If I were rich I'd run and throw all my money at you for a Nordhavn.

    Someone had the big bucks to put those options in a Nordhavn but I guess they're the best around in my opinion I thought they built an 80ft before I was a little confused when they said hull number 1

    You know one thing I always wondered is why haven't you guys looked at a Volvo IPS system For the nordhoff and yachts it would eliminate the need for rudders others so we give you more room in the lazarette have an excellent day

    • @manosparavida3551
      @manosparavida3551 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think jet-drives would be better still, but uncertain whether they're totally suitable for a full displacement hill?

    • @darploin5071
      @darploin5071 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@manosparavida3551 Probably the best piece of vice would be to bring in some experts from a major ship yard to take a look and to give them their assessment that's meant have an excellent day

    • @overtheclouds9
      @overtheclouds9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For ocean crossing i honestly don’t feel IPS would perform as well as this setup. Being this is a very heavy trawler that is designed to be running 24/7 at 8+ knots. There’s the drag on the hull to look at for fuel efficiency that would be an issue with iPS and the additional cost of the units. Now an Izopod with Diesel Electric would be great if the cost were lower and could fit the system in the footprint of this hull design. The mains or generator could provide energy to travel depending on the situation. The other thing you have to look at is the maintenance of the drives on a boat that isn’t as easily to haul out as a cabin cruiser with the size and weight.

    Can the lift be a wheelchair lift, also can it serve all deck levels, from the fly bridge, to the lower sleeping cabin deck too?
    Or could you have more than one lift, in two separate locations, so you can get from the fly bridge down to main deck, then a second lift to the lower sleeping cabin deck?

    When does Hull #2 come available; look forward to seeing it. Of the yachts on the market, new and old, this is really the best all around. My favorite is the man cave behind the wheel house. Let the crazies run around downstairs while hanging out upstairs.

    Far nicer interior than the depictions shown on the Nordhavn web site, which is a pathetic IKEA style design. Too bad the performance specifications are missing from this video along with the web site (speed/range data).

    It's the only thing that gets E is it has the same amount of guest state rooms as a nordhoffman 68 with the forward boat deck and the afterbridge And the 68 can be had with a captain's cabin on the bridge And 2 Is crew birth

    Ok so the cockpit of a plane is where you steer the plane its where everything is. The cockpit of a boat is the back deck.... does anyone else have a problem with this?

    • @n40tom
      @n40tom 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I don't have a problem with that at all, but let me mention this I was on the USS Pegasus it is a naval hydrofoil and they referred to the helm on that boat as the cockpit. I'm assuming because it spent most of its time above the water so to speak. It was an extremely interesting vessel and it is worth your while to research it. Take care

      If you look up the original meaning of "cockpit" it's a horrible thing, but the point is that it was a pit - a depression or sunken space. On boats the terminology originates from sailing yachts where the skipper typically steers from a low deck towards the stern. Have a look at typical sailing yacht and you'll see what I mean. When modern motor boats were being developed the same name was given to the low space at the stern even though the helm was forward. So this is just another example of the re-use of nautical terms which are hang-overs from previous eras. There's a lot of that in boating. For example, why do we call a toilet/rest room a "head"?
