Betrayal can take many forms, it's not just stepping out on you, or cheating on you. Betrayal can mean she has ZERO RESPECT for you. Treats you as a Second Class Citizen when you are out with her friends, or over at her parents place. Betrayal could be something as simple as her throwing you under the bus, or sides with her friends or family over a serious difference of opinion. Betrayal could be something as simple as belittling you in front of friends and family, or trying to think she can put you in your place. Betrayal comes in many forms.

My 7 year long relationship ended up having me walk away because she was traditional and then she went to college and got indoctrinated by feminism and made the relationship hell. She’s gonna realize if she wants to try to get me back that the standards and boundaries from the lessons that I’ve made will be much more stringent than previously. She won’t even be able to qualify!
My wife and I are separated, but still live in the same house, with our 2 small kids. A year ago she started to go out, with her friends, so she said. One Saturday night she did not come home all night long, while I was home with the kids. I called and texted her all night long and seriously thought something had happened to her. When she returned Sunday morning and I asked her what happened, she said that was not my business and walked away. Then I knew she was cheating on me. We have been married for 12 years and it hit me like a rock. I never cheated on her, work and provide for my family, cooked and cleaned the house. What an idiot I have been. I hope my divorce will be finalized soon.

Never thought it could/would happen to me, but guess what? After about 30 faithful yrs invested in her & building a family, my now ex f'd me & the fam over hardcore. Lied/cheated/stole & ran off w/her boss (whom was a family 'friend' for about 10 years & heir to a family business). Note: I had/have a great career that existed the entire time I was married to my ex. Never struggled paycheck-to-paycheck; we traveled all over; raised some superb kids; kept busy with varied things. Still didn't matter.
You guys need to really listen to the gist of what Rich says. Hypergamy couldn't be more real. Your lady has the capability in her to do it to you, could be sooner, could be decades down the line. Doesn't matter how much wealth you have (think Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, etc), doesn't matter how good looking you are/in shape you are... you have to come to grips with the fact it can still happen to you, yes you, and then act accordingly.

Very similar experience here, after being married over 36 years, so you're the first person I've seen so far in my journey who was married even close to how long we were. Like you, we raised three awesome adult kids and had great extended travels together as recently as a year ago. I never saw it coming.
I was common law for ten years with my ex. Best nine years of my life. Thank god no kids. A younger brother married 20 years and with three great kids, two boys and a girl all grown up now split up after she cheated. He kept trying to get her back no matter what at first and was angry and depressed for almost 20 years since then. She turned the boys against him. We thought he was finally coming to terms with it. Last June he self-deleted to get away from her. For real.

I supported my wife and family for about 28 years. Then my business failed during covid. Hers stayed stable.
She was able to save some money. Then she left, had an affair, I have the kids and now she wants to cone back into the house and kick me out but get me to pay for most of it.
Guys please understand that you need to vet the woman prior to wanting to claim her. Never tell her I don't take women seriously who have....blah, blah, blah. just be quiet and say nothing and write her off. never try to pull rank, leverage use silly "alpha strategies". Coffee with her female friends in the morning rather than partying with them isn t a guarentee anymore either. I personally know of a woman constantly cheating on her bf for the last year during the "coffee session with her female friends" on Sundays. She does this on a weekly basis and may also post instagram stories to back her lies. It all comes down to the person in the end, there are still a few women around with principles. My point is if she wants to cheat, she ll do it any way

I just a strong impression the girl I've been dating 18 months was cheating. I blocked her off everything, no asking, no arguing no, no explanations. I don't need any. Not a single tear shed. I got cheated on by a girl that I really liked at the time. In my opinion you move on by being able to trust your ability to recover. The more heartbreak you suffer the more valuable the recovery.
I’ve had a couple of relationships since and the girl I’m with now is amazing. If I lose her I lose her … I’ll recover - that’s what we do.
I know a women who's been bilking her ex for going on 3 decades now. She even had a full-blown (gown, guests, reception etc), but non-legal wedding with her new 'husband' about 7 years ago. Getting ex for healthcare & other benefits from the divorce. If that isn't bad enough she's the one that was stepping out on the marriage when with her first husband.

Mine didn't even get a white dress. I tied a piece of licorice around her ring finger and she committed herself to me. We lasted 26 years. No papers and a simple "divorce" we split the savings and she moved out.

Turns out when a woman is truly into you, nothing matters beyond you wanting to be with her. She accepted without hesitation. She asked for an actual ring about 6 years later so she had something to wear on her ring finger. She let me pick it and didn't care about price.
I chose a $99 ring and she absolutely loved it. Again they won't care about how fancy or expensive it is if they're truly into you. I'd never be with a materialistic woman.
I will add however that she came from a poor background and never expected a fancy life.
I was that “plugged beta” when we got married. I wasn’t when we met. I had 2 other girls when we met. I was living a great life. Then I became “domesticated” and had kids. I still loved my life but I did t realize it then that I became THAT guy. Not until she left me for an alcoholic man that cheated on his wife did I realize how women really were. Our suburban life was boring to her and she craved chaos.

"Cheating" can be a whole lot more than actually having sex with some other dude. Talking on the phone with some other dude.....txting some other dude......going to lunch with some other dude.......going into some other dudes apartment......driving in the same car with some other dude....etc.
Now, some of the activities I just mentioned may come off sounding petty or controlling......but those type of male relationships outside of the relationship she has with you, should be ENORMOUS red flags! Can't happen......got to put your foot down early or simply move on.

Instantly reconciled within that it was a free out. Never work long hours for short pay and have a promiscuous woman in a so-called monogamy. That's a perfect oxymoron for the moronic behavior I practiced in my 30s. Yet, with any of us, recognize instantly who isn't for you. The signs never lie. Just don't think you have someone different because anyone is capable of promiscuity. Basically our turn can run out quicker than a pet when you leave the door open too long. I’ve had it once in my life in my 20’s and I vowed I’d NEVER let it happen again ( which it hasn’t ) I’ve stayed true to myself and what I offer and I’ve continued to take accountability for my imperfections. Within that time i have learnt so much about the absolute ruthlessness of female nature that I’m not really sure I want one anymore. I know there is good women out there but they ratio of good to bad ones is very small and I don’t generally step out to search for it so it’s highly unlikely most men doing the same are going to come across good women. I’ve come this far on my own and fought some demons along the way without a woman. If she ever does come along she better make sure SHE has something beneficial to my life in terms of happiness because it ain’t gonna last a month if she hasn’t

There should also be a common law, if the women is with the new man after X number of years, she would still lose her alimony. This is the same standard with a man and woman who has lived together for x number of years.
If she cheats on you, is there honestly any response other than dumping her? You can't keep her for sport secks; she'll think she still 'owns' you and will do things to hurt you. Well interesting...My story is different...She was 13 and I was 16 and we both made mistakes. But I have to view it as growing up and part of life. Now 60 and have battle scars but stronger than ever. Isn't mistakes how we learn and improve ourselves...A marriage is 2 people that refuse to give up and man don't it get great. The key maybe is being sorry for the mistakes one has made and honesty. Since when is there anything worth having that doesn't come at a cost.. Then before you know it your older and look back and be thankful for it all. The ride that most give up before it gets good.The toughest part is the fact it all went way to fast.. Main key is to do your best to always put them before yourself. Makes a bulletproof team. Well the world has changed and most like an easy ride. But easy never seems to last.. We watched everyone else fail and start over and they look at us like what did we do they didn't...Ummm..Learn from our mistakes and keep moving.. But we don't know anything. So we just watch..lol...One more thing is the fact I am certain we have been in and out of love at least 100 times along the journey. Mountains and valleys and high winds and cross winds. Failure is not an option. Failure is a choice to not make the finish line.. Personally I don't know anything but I sure know what won't work..All you have to do is watch others and they will teach you every way to fail possible.

If your partner or wife cheats on you and you still do not have children then you are free to leave her.
I know a divorced woman who refuses to marry again because she gets a nice alimony payment from her ex-husband. Even though the child support will run out at some point, the alimony continues until the man dies or the woman remarries.

Understand the following:
A. Anything you say can and will be used against you. Therefore keep your behavior and rhetoric under control.
B. Respect yourself. If you respect yourself you will find it unacceptable to be with a cheater.
C. You will probably take some financial losses ending the relationship, make peace with it.
