Actually, the song was written as a metaphor for his father's death. (Viszlát Nyár=Goodbye Summer, Summer is a metaphor for his father)
He dedicated this song to his dead father and now they're together in a better place. Rest in Peace! 🕊

Surely his father wished he could've experienced more from life, like we all do at some point, but what is done is done, at least they're together. I’m honestly really upset this song didn’t win, or come anywhere in the top 10.
It was certainly something very different than the others, and I feel that this would be a huge surprise if it won. He sang in his own language, and notice how he’s facing the audience, not camera.

Same lol, mislim da žiri glasa previše politički i da su trebali i bolje da se plasiraju, pesma je predobra za razliku od komercijalnih pop pesmica i imitacija domaćih životinja na sceni, odnosno živine (specifičnije, govorim o kokoškama) koje dobijaju od žirija 8, 10 i 12 a ovakve predobre pesme ostaju nezapažene, ne važi samo za Mađarsku već i za Holandiju i Ukrajinu koje su takođe imale dobre pesme i nastupe.

Denmark had a song with almost zero substance tho, it sounded great... until you realized it was the same thing over and over, it's like they took the chorus/intro to a song and stretched it out for 3 minutes

He was such a good, humble, funny and inspiring man, he wanted to tell everyone how he beat cancer, he had hope until the very end, but sadly his illness worsend after he was recovering so well. Very tragic.

Juries don't appreciate anything that isn't the usual eurovision pop, look at Iceland 2019, loved by the audience but juries didn't even consider them. Every time when a country sends anything other than the usual eurovision pop they're low on jury votes.
@@RemyConst Finland 2015 got 10th place in televoting, but only ONE jury point. Turkey 2010 wasn't even metal, but it still got only 8th place in jury voting compared to 2nd place in televoting. Georgia 2011 only qualified for the final because of the televoters, if it was up to the jury they wouldn't have even qualified. The juries need to be bigger (8 or 10 people instead of only 5) and more diverse.
Televoting did not help that much as well... 15th place is quite low if we consider Israel winning and Austria or Estonia being above Hungary...

Us, hungarians, should be more than proud of our boys. They did such an amazing job!! They delivered emotions, power and amazing vocals!!! Metal is a genre, which isn't for everyone, even I have never listened to this kind of music, BUT they did the impossible, they made me fall in LOVE with their song. And I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation. They should have been AT LEAST in the top 10!!

Lisbon 2018. That was the only eurovision I had the pleasure of watching live in the arena. With me I dragged 3 of my nieces that were in their early 20s. This song was one of my favourites and I really forgot were I was for 3 minutes, headbanging my head like I was in a rock concert. At the end of the song my nieces were really embarrassed about their crazy auntie's behaviour, clearly not metal fans them lot. Really shocked about the news that the lead singer passed away, the memories of this amazing performance will last for a long time with all the fans. R.I.P 🙏🕯️💔
How could I say it... I love watching the entire arena jumping and screaming ! Those AWS boys brought something so very important to share, their energy came directly to my muscles, bones and heart on this 12th, May. I feel so grateful!
This is sooo underrated. Don't even want to watch the Eurovision after this. I'm really disappointed in this contest. This was the first time I was really looking forward to it. This is why I watch eurovision, because sometimes a band comes along that makes actual good music that I can enjoy after the contest :)
Some numbers shouldn't deter you from appreciating the songs you like. Consider the points a song gets the same way you would look at the music charts; whatever is popular doesn't necessarily have to be the best song.
ElaborateTiger, I understand that but it makes me really upset that many people say that song is awful only because of its genre. But, yes the most important thing is not to win the contest but to win the hearts of people. And that's great that they did it.

I'd classify Lordi as hard rock and AWS as metalcore.
I hope Örs knew how much he and AWS did for metal and good music in general. I'd argue this was the most significant moment in metal music history since Linkin Park released Hybrid Theory in 2000. Rest in peace, Örs, thank you for showing everyone that metal is about feelings.
Ehhhh, have to disagree with you there my good sir. AWS is great but I doubt many in the metal community even know about them. The song is great but not really original other than being in hungarian. There are lots and lots of other metal bands that are much bigger and more infuential that came out since hybrid Theory(BMTH, Slipknot's later work, Meshuggah, BFMV and more)

Ennyit arról, hogy többet nem nézem az Euróvíziót... Nem az a baj, hogy az AWS nem nyert,nem az a baj, hogy a végén voltak, nem az, hogy nem lettünk benne a TOP3-ban hanem az, hogy a tömeg zenék, amiknek semmi jelentőségük, semmi erőltetés nincs benne, csak megy a 'cukiskodás és színészkedés, hogy jaj de szeretek mindenkit, imádom ezt, sajnáljatok meg' voltak az élvonalban. Hova tart a világ? Olaszország is, olyan mély jelentőségű dallal nevezett, erre csirke, vagy mit tudom én hogy mutatták nyert. Jó volt, de ez egy kontinens versenyéhez méltó?! Könyörgöm. Persze, írogattàk legalább tízen az előző videóhoz Magyarországnak hogy,,12 from bla bla bla...., very good, the best, Budapest 2018"Hol az a 12 pont? Hol?
Látom, nincs értelme reménykedni többet. Ennyit erről.

Látszik hogy nem sok eurovíziót láttatok még. Pedig volt idő hozzászokni a jelenséghez évtizedek alatt.
Azért őszintén engem is meglep, hogy a Rock és Metál közösség csupán ilyen halovány mértékben pontozott minket, azért gondoltam, sokkal többen vagyunk Európában, mármint rockerek, de az is lehet, hogy közülük alig nézte valaki ezt a versenyt.
Second Encounter Teljesen igazad van, nem sokat láttam,sőt ez az első hogy teljes figyelemmel követtem a műsort, de most kedvem volt hozzá, hisz tetszett a mostani nevezésünk. A lelkem mélyén gondoltam erre,amit leírtál, de reménykedtem benne, hogy az emberek elgondolkodnak egy kicsit. Hát nem.
Tökmindegy hanyadikok lettek, a második hellyel is ugyanott lennénk ahol ezzel a huszonkettedikkel. A lényeg az hogy sokan megismerték ezt is, és akinek tetszett az továbbra is hallgatni fogja.
