Honestly control hunter was not a theme I was expecting to see get support. Not big beast hunter this time, but this seems to actually support Reno hunter, which seems really cool. Healthstone makes me not want to play Wild...I LOVE seeing Warlock get busted support for the archetype that no one wants to see get any more help. I worry that it might just track damage dealt and deal no damage...which I hope isn't how it works.
I want painlock to be good, but not because of the quest (I'd like it to be a fast frail deck that plays big stuff earlier than normal but dies somewhat easily)

Exarch Naielle is by far my favourite card. i'm sick of hunter getting pure garbage, so its nice to see them finally get some toys worth playing, as a wild player its still incredible too.

My favorite card so far is the starship legendary that makes it a second alastor. Probably not the best, but SUPER fun. And my god i'm a member here for almost 5 months already lol
As a certified Warlock Enjoyer, I’m fine with this set being mediocre. The class is strong enough in both formats that not getting any new cards for the current decks, while lame, is justified.
Cards like K'ara really need to be printed with elusive/stealth to be playable, even then what exactly is the card supposed to do... you're literally shut out from casting any non-shadow spells in order to get value - and then what..... you had to fill your deck with mostly useless and unplayed cards then hold them all until you can combo for some value, finding ways to play them that don't either kill K'ara or kill its potential targets. All that for a minion that still has 3 attack, no taunt and will die to a rogue card that he was gonna play anyway cos he wanted to draw 3. Even in a world where you manage to Cursed Campaign then Reverb it then play a bunch of Mortal Coils or something, that's nowhere near the impact you want for how slow and restrictive a play it is. Unless I'm missing some huge hidden tech like it being able to permanently lower enemy face's max HP, this is one of the worst legendaries they've printed in a while, and they've printed a lot of bad legendaries. As a 3-mana leggo, is K'ara supposed to be on the same level as Naielle? Someone should really tell them.
I think Exarch Naielle is pronounced like n-eye-ehl. I have nothing really to add other than my excitement for her and interest in her name's pronunciation. Rly excited for hunter this set :)

Naielle is pretty much the main thing propping the Class up to meta level The United in Stormwind Questline would be interesting with Naielle too. Sure the 1st stage is meaningless for it, but the 2nd and 3rd stage turn it into a better, 0 cost, repeatable Life Tap. 2. With K'ara, let's be honest, its only a matter *when* rather than *if* the card is going to be busted. The Tamsin Legendary alone has the potential to make it disgusting!
What about a combo of rangari and overplanner? Since you dont actually discover the card and get it in your hand, would it work? If so, that would be insanely broken
Gorm at 1 mana would only be barely playable. Any higher and you could always be doing something better with the mana. Heck with the new discover hero power I'd rather do that than play gorm.
Of the cards shown so far, K'ara the Dark Star is probably my favorite, even if it probably won't be that great. Honestly, I am pretty surprised they are printing so many good Hunter cards considering what they previously printed. Exarch Naielle in particular is a big surprise and I am sure it will end up a staple unless Blizzard decides to nerf significantly.
On the hunter ship, it feels really nasty if your opponent can’t remove it without triggering the death rattle. Because the claw helps make sure that the death rattle hits face. It ensures that new minions can’t come down, and then explodes. Especially if you can manage to Bird Watching or Track either of the class pieces with the 1 drop that doubles discovers out. Admittedly weak into silences or transformations, but I could see it being very nasty.
not a hunter player so I don't really share the excitement, but I really like the idea of playing abduction ray 5 times after 2 foreboding flames and dropping 20 mana worth of demons in a single turn. my favorite card of the unreleased set will probably be foreboding flame just because mana cheat and persistent effects are really strong.
alright so this is propably an unpopular opinion, but i really dont like Exarch Naielle. a big chunk of hunters cards this expansion are based on discover. so if you build an archetype around that you need this minion. the problem is that this card is very cheap with a sort of permanent effect, meaning that if you draw it early, you get an advantage over your opponent just because you were lucky enough to draw it early. same fundamental issue cards like Helya, Turbulus and Spirit of the badlands have. also all the synergy cards rely on her to be consistently good. thus, if you dont draw her quickly. the whole archetype mostly falls apart. and those cards will be inefficient. and yeah i know you can tutor her, and there are other cards that can discover, but cmon, it still hinges on her. another thing, is that if you are a free to play player and cant simply craft all the cards. if you never pull her from a pack. all those synergy cards that you may have pulled are almost worthless since you dont have the major payoff. imagine, at that point getting both the epics that synergise, they are basically wasted pulls. yeah you can craft her and i think she will be run in basically every hunter deck but if you are dead broke on dust, what can you do. also im not a hunter player so idk but alot of cards have had this issue in hearthstone.
Thing is between Tracking (the card), Birdwatching, Fetch!, and Bargain Bin, you honestly have quite a few ways to pull her out of your deck early. Helya, Turbulus, and Spirit of the Badlands all have the issue of the fact their respective classes can’t target them or tutor them very easily. A good comparison is Drilly the Kid. Excavate Rogue leans heavily on his ability to triple excavate, and the presence of Pit Stop to hit him consistently makes him very reliable.
I'm honestly not 100% sold that Naille will really be THAT nuts and I could see them add a "Discover a card from your deck" to the start of her battlecry
I can't wait to silence/hex/polymorph/bgh the starship and absolutely wreck a starship deck player's day.

Theme for the warlock cards would’ve been much better if they did fel spells than shadow
so the hero power just turns into branns from duels but slightly worse, but also reno lone ranger go brrrr with killing starships
Depends on which version because it's better than it's final version before duels was removed but worse than the launch version
