- Skylanders Trap Team while introducing light and dark elements created villains for them that make no sense. In this video, I explain the whole situation.

7:32 Fisticuffs explanation is kinda dumb but his hole thing is punching and when you punch someone in the eye they have a black eye and black is accosiated with the dark element
2:44 Lob Goblin is clearly obsessed with lights when capturing him he ask if he can wire lights inside the trap

I always felt like Nightshade felt more dark than magic, because all of his tricks revolve around shadows.
Yeah I don't know why he was saying that nightshade should be magic because he always came across as dark
He’s a thief/bandit who often operate at night too which explains his dark element
He's a shady thief, I get the dark element
Blaster Tron will always be my favorite Trap Team villain and my favorite Sensei
The reason i believe tae kwan crow and night shade are dark is for a similar reason. Ninjas and thieves tend to hide in the shadows be in the dark. all of that. but thats just my guess
Nightshade can also be dark due to him belong a thief since area take place in a museum if i remember correctly. And thief/bandit often steal at night which explains his dark element.
Fisticuffs is dark as his saying of “lights out” is because of him basically giving black eyes.
I don't think that the Dark element is supposed to be that they look like Dark, I think it's that they use underhanded and shady tactics to fight

Eye five's reason for being light is that his eyes shoot out electricity (see his second attack)
WHY is lob goblin light element he should be tech that would fit him way better since he is throwing bombs that are made with TECHNOLOGY👎
Tae Kwon Crow also can have dark because of the whole ninja agent of the shadows thing
Erm, actually, villian skystones in superchargers have elements.
I mean u could argue for lob goblin’s element by saying that the electricity coming from his bomb things are forms of light, but in the end of the day…Activision goofed up with that one
i mean with night shade you just got to think real life most robbers steals in he dark so its easier to hide and to be sneaky
Another day that cloudbreaker doesnt understand that not all robots have to be tech
What I’m curious about is if there’s ever a new Skylanders game and another 10 villains get figures which would ones should they pick and what elements would they get?
My picks would probably be
Life: Broccoli Guy
Water: Gluper/Chill Bill
Fire: Chef Pepper Jack
Magic: Bomb Shell
Tech: Threat Pack
Air: Dream Catcher
Earth: Cuckoo Clocker
Undead: Masker Mind
Light: Luminos
Dark: Nightshade
Luminous has one of the most badass villain designs hands down
I the problem with updating the game was that they were discs, so they couldn't actually update the game I don't think. Instead they'd have to recode the entire game which people would have to buy just so they could use the light and dark elements, which I personally don't think it's worth buying an entire extra game for
Also I personally think the dark villains do fit the dark element (all of them) pretty well. Each of them fit into a different view of dark
Eye scream depicts something spooky. Which could work for both undead and dark
Fisticuffs represents the ruffian type of dark. Like how a vast majority of dark type pokemon are the dark type because of behavior, not actually darkness or nighttime
And Tae Kwon crow and nightshade represents the stealthy aspect of dark. Both doing it in different way. Nightshade in the form of a thief and Tae Kwon crow in the form of a ninja/samurai
So, one thing you didn’t take into consideration is their evolved form. For some, like tae kwon crow, the evolved form may make them look more like their element. Same with the move set when they are captured.
It is sad that Luminous and Nightshade are not in Imaginators because their figures and attacks had potential.
I it just me or does luminous remind me of ultra necrozma from Pokemon USUM
I have literally never played this game, only got as far as skylanders 1 and giants but just looking at eye five and eye scream they're totally based on dreams and nightmares
Eye five looks like a creature you'd see in a dream and eye scream a nightmare
Well they are in a way connected to another villain called dreamcatcher
Theyre found in the spooky haunted svamp being controlled by a character who specializes in causing nightmares...how can you be so right on the money?
Honestly feels like they put them in light and dark at the last minute and that’s why they mostly didn’t fit
I am sad that there is no Magic Element Doom Raider.
Well funny story
You know those rotating things at the academy that show the element of your current character well if you spawn in as Kaos it thinks he is magic element

I'll explain why the light and dark villians are the way they are:
Lob goblin: he uses electric magnetic bombs. Electric can be associated with light so it makes sense and I don't see him fitting in any other element besides light
Eye five: okay yeah it seems like the only reason they made him light is because he's happy and has a secondary electric attack that powers him up. He doesn't really fit any element
Blaster tron: I think a futuristic robot is perfect for the light element. Not all robots have to be the tech element and he his design is unique enough to make him not be tech. He has the light ray too.
Eye scream: I think eye scream fits undead more than dark but she does fit the element nun the less.
Fisticuffs: they presumably gave him the dark element because of the lights out joke. Hes also quite edgy compared to the other evilkins so that could also be a contributing factor.
Tae Kwon Crow: hes a ninja bird. Dark suites him perfectly
Luminous: perfect
Nightshade: WHY DO YOU THINK NIGHTSHADE SHOULD BE MAGIC?!
He's a theif thats sneaky and uses a bunch of shadow attacks that SCREAM dark element.

even some of the main game villians dont fit their element. Like Bomb Shell does not at all look like a magic villian
Ok I agree like it would only make sense if his bombs had magical properties
For luminous and nightshade they could have been with the rider but like never fight them in the main game but most likely just them see us how strong we them when the pack came out we know their element could have also hide them with the riders never knowing what they look like and the golden queen could only say their element are very strange and not she had ever see before

I actually really like blastertron not being tech im kidna tired of basically every robot being tech and blastertron is a good subversion
To be fair, a lot of the other non-light and non-dark trappable villains have questionable elements. For example, Cuckoo Clocker in life, Tussle Sprout in earth, Bomb Shell in magic, Brawlrus in tech, Slobber Trap in water to name a few. I'm not saying that there isn't some logic for why these villains are a part of these elements, but I feel like your issue with light and dark villains not fitting their respective elements isn't exclusive to these two elements
Also, Eye Five and Lob Goblin being a part of the light element due to their attacks involving electricity is actually more justifiable than you might think. High Volt, the tech supercharger, was originally going to be a part of the light element because his attacks used electricity. A lot of his upgrade paths have light-based puns because of this

I feel like everyone forgot that the light and dark element were actually still hidden until their reveal. The elemental gates that would be those today actually had a question mark on them. Eon even said “Skylanders of an unknown element are stronger here.

The only take thats reasonable here is that the light and dark element were just a cash grab on “OMG new element 😮” , this led to a lot of messed up stuff in the games (specially trap team)

the evilikin s I would guess that got their elements by were : Shield shredder is a weed whacking evilikin, krankenstein cuz it can suck in air with it's arm, scrapshooter is cuz it shoots barrels and it seems like there s fire or ash or sumthin when it shoots it's barrels, and fisticuffs maybe cuz it lived in the shadows of the sewers of supreme stink?
