There are lots of other towns as well which are good for commuting:
Watford (has excellent transport link - Met line + Overground which takes 20 mins to Euston)
Reading & Maidenhead - After the crossrail, this is a boon. Maidenhead to Paddington is just 20 mins
Basingstoke - 50 mins to Waterloo
Amersham - 60 mins to Aldgate, but has a direct Air Conditioned Met line!!
Market Harborough - this lovely town in East Midlands is only 58 mins from STP/Kings X
Kettering - just 47 mins to STP
Commute price from reading to canary wharf is very high....even for someone travelling 3 times a week, it takes away any savings living farther from London
Watford is also worth to consider when it comes to commuting to London
Mr. Kalyankar how much do you think I'll have to pay for a 1 bedroom or Studio apartment in Watford?? Can you guys also suggest some websites where I can book an accommodation??

I am living in Barking london and paying 1550 pounds p/m for two bedrooms flat. But people in this area are paying 1200-1400 also. Maybe its also helpful for some people. Ilford is also a good option in terms of less commute and less rent as well.

If one works in South Mumbai, its like staying in Navi Mumbai becoz rentals are cheap. What's the use of working in London when your salary is not sufficient to take a property on rent in Central London. It's a paradox. The craze of shifting from India to London is a Mirage.

It's depressing for Indians to work and live in London as Salaries are not commensurate with high inflation and cost of living. It's a myth that Indians who shift to London enjoy high standard of living
Actually there is not much difference between India and Uk in terms of standard of living.Only difference is quality of life is much better.

Need one help. I got ICT visa to work in Canary Wharf client office. I got good 2 BHK option in Southend. SS2. My query is: with above residence permit and visa, am I allowed to stay in southend? I mean is there any issue during GP registration or kids school admission? Please guide.
