- Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone!
In this video I head down to the once Abandoned Ghost Town of Cerro Gordo. This was one of my favorite trips I took this year & it was a pleasure to meet everyone at Cerro Gordo!

So happy I found this video! I've been following Brent from the beginning and I love seeing people volunteer and help to bring this very special town back to life. I just want to thank you for taking the time to go there and help out. Good people are hard to find, but Brent certainly has found a way to attract them! All the best to you!
Thank you Diane for the kind words! I really appreciate it. You’re right Brent has found the secret formula haha. It was nothing but good vibes & good ole fashioned hard work while I was there. I can’t wait to go back!
@@marlon_makes Brent really is an inspiration. I firmly believe that the loss of the hotel helped Brent to find his purpose in life and bring out the best in humanity. He deserves all the help he has gotten. You are a blessing.
@@dianemackey thanks again Diane! I really appreciate it 🙏🏼

Nice views!!! Have a great time!!!❤❤
Way Cool! Thanks for sharing and your help at Cerro Gordo!
After watching Brent’s videos I almost felt compelled to get up there haha. Great experience, can’t wait to be back!
Thanks for posting. We as viewers don’t always get to see all the work being done on the property, so it was nice to your video.
It was my pleasure! I agree watching Brents videos I always want more haha
You are a sweet young man who was raised well. You are so lucky! I wish I could do something up there to contribute! I love Brent & his passion & the Live Cerro Gordo Town !
I’m getting older haha but young at heart for sure! My mom cleaned houses her whole life & my dad was a carpenter so hard work has always been around my family!
You most definitely can contribute in helping out. There are big jobs & small jobs but no job that couldn’t use an extra set of hands! You can do a lot or you can do a little. A simple positive attitude goes a long way up at Cerro Gordo!
Nice posting. I watched and listened twice! I like to see all the building improvements that are going on. We're seeing more of this as time goes by. Some improvements are replacing some of the shacks that can hardly stand up on their own and others are being enhanced and modified. Some of the improvements are done by respecting the existing structures and showing the way. What a great thing Brent is doing there, and he's the right person to be doing it. This will end up being a destination for campers and hikers.
I will SUB and LIKE and wait for the next thing you post.
@@rogero9633 thank you i appreciate the kind words! You are my 700th subscriber!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing your time and talent to help Brent's dream come true great vidio keep up the good work.😊
Thanks man! I really appreciate it!
Great video, glad you were able help Brent.
Thank you 🙏🏼 😊
As I know well, you did a great thing here. One of the problems of being in a remote area is finding skilled labor willing to donate their time. Hopefully you will make this trip on a regular basis. Brent has a very big job there and it will become a long-term series of projects. I am one of the crazy people who helped out at Burro Schimdts Camp for about 15 years, driving 180 miles each way.
That’s awesome! That is quite the commitment! I’ll need to look up some information about buttons Schmidt’s camp I’m not familiar! I definitely plan to be back as often as I can!! Thinking sometime in the spring for the next trip!
Burro Schmidts tunnel is a crazy story, but it's recent (last 20 years) past has been very sad. In short, the owner died and the guy watching the place wanted BLM to pay him.... Nope! He's gone and several volunteers tried to come up on weekends, but the crackheads tore the place apart. It's in sad shape, I don't go there anymore, it's too depressing. I helped out the old lady who owned it from 1982 thru 1999. She died in 2002, I think. Feel free to ask if you have questions. Btw I hope to make the trip myself to Cerro Gordo... I'm in the Midwest right now, but I managed to win an auction for land in NV .... For a dollar! Sooooo you never know, The days of high adventure (or insanity) might come again to the high desert!@@marlon_makes
The volunteers are donating a lot more than their time , especially Dave Sparks and his faithful crew. Without them , CG would still be on a blackboard .
Great attitude, just like Brent "can do, will do", we all appreciate your contribution.
Thanks! I know I keep saying I appreciate everyone’s kind words but I really do! Yal are part of the reason Cerro Gordo is special! Without the support it wouldn’t be where it is today!
So glad to see this video from the perspective of someone donating their time, effort and skills to helping revive Cerro Gorda. I have no such skills, but I've enjoyed watching Brent and all that he has been able to accomplish there thanks to many good people such as yourself! I can't wait until the hotel itself is complete and fully functioning once again, along with the other things he has set out to accomplish as well.
Thanks Cyndy! I’m happy you enjoyed the video! Brent really has built up an amazing community around Cerro Gordo!
That musta been really neat to visit and help them build . Cool video
Cerro gordo is amazing 🌵🌲🌳
Such an amazing trip! From the drive down to the time spent there! Thanks for checking it out I appreciate your time 🙏🏼
It's on my bucket to visit CG
@@mlbolts72 get out there! It’s well worth the effort! Such a special place!
Love it! I visited when participating in the Cerro Gordo Silver Run. Such a fun spot!
I’m not ganna lie that run looks insanely tough haha. Would be cool to volunteer during next years run!
@@marlon_makes Yes, it was brutal! haha But still a lot of fun! Can't wait to attend again later this year.
@@ScottFerreira I bet haha! When is the next one ?
Excellent video dude loved it. Thank you very much.
Thank you for checking it out! I really appreciate it 🙏🏼
It's great to see people like yourself helping out there! I hope it becomes a successful little town!
I think it’s already a success compared to when Brent showed up. Lots of room for more improvement. Slowly but surely!
Very good 👍 and awesome 👌 to help C G.

I enjoyed seeing a side trip to SG
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support!
You met the Goats!!! Tofu FTW!
The goats were chill but Elom was a little feisty haha
Brent loves free labour. That's how he got to be rich.
Who doesn’t love volunteers ?! Lol
Love the vlog style
Thanks Liz! I enjoyed making this one forsure!
from Brentwood to Brent Underwood 😅
I was hoping someone would notice that haha. What are the odds right 😅?
Thank you for volinteering😅
My pleasure 🤗
I DO DRY STONE WALLS ITS MY DREAM TO VISIT AND HELP
Do it! Your skills can be put to use out there forsure!
You went to Cerro Gordo and only got a 6 min video?
I got 4 days, YOU got a 6 min video haha
I know what you mean about the temperature in the mornings before the sun gets on you I live at 4000 ft only by over here in California in the high desert Apple Valley area you definitely dress in layers you don't dress with no one big old coat on that's for sure
100% gotta stay warm right off the bat! Luckily once we got to work we warmed up quick!
spotify owns most of the town...
What?
Stop describing places as the "middle of nowhere." Those remote places are filled with everything.
p.s. Slow down images and narration.
Geographically speaking, it is in the middle of nowhere 😅 (in comparison to the next largest town).
Maybe "remote" is a better word to describe Cerro Gordo. Definitely not abandoned though, not anymore.
@SpaceFlye i definitely wasn’t taking away from the town. I mean I did make a whole video on how good my experience was haha
The internet is one gigantic Karen Farm. 😂❤
@@TheHappinessOfThePursuit it’s all good. I know it ain’t ganna be all love haha
