@@KhaiFirst What many people don't realize is that under the Western financial system and institutions, Malaysia's economy can easily be crippled if the West impose sanctions or ban the SWIFT system. BRICS allows trade in other currencies than the USD and minimize risk in an event the US decided to ban Malaysia from using the USD for global trade.

Above video narrative is one of a good clear presentations. Thank you Global Grid.
Under a very good leadership of Anwar Ibrahim and his team Malaysia is moving towards a sustainable growth country hopefully by 2030 meeting all goals as stipulated by UNDP. It is no point to be just a developed country or a high income country if hunger, poor health or educational facilities, corruption, poor sanitation, social injustice is present. As mentioned Malaysia is facing v huge historical debt to clear. Also there are too much political noise and rhetorics that make life very interesting in this country.. Seeing Anwar Ibrahim commitment and vast experience he can achieve what we want in this small but important country.

It's not just about cheap labor. Companies are also look at the quality of workforce when it comes to high tech manufacturing. Malaysia already has 50 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and accounts for about 13% of semiconductor global back-end manufacturing. Simply put, the country that has the best quality and cheap workforce wins the investments.

@@tushittalwar9689 Most low-tech manufacturing companies are shifting from China to Vietnam due to tariffs and sanctions. Foreign companies are still keen on selling goods to China because it's a big market, but they do not want to be slapped with tariffs by the Chinese government, so they set up their factories in Vietnam close to Chinese border and rebrand the goods as "made in Vietnam" to bypass the tariffs.
It's true that Taiwan manufactured 63.8% of the world's semiconductors, however, most electronic goods do not require high tech 7nm chips. Legacy chips are still used in most electronic goods from kitchen appliances to gadgets such routers, electric cars, entertainment system etc. Hence why China is set to dominate the legacy chip market in the future. This is the market that Malaysia is aiming for as many Western countries want to derisk from the Chinese market and look for alternative country that can produce legacy chips at competitive prices.
