Picked up a KS Super II (silver) w the 50mm and 135mm kit last year at a neighbor's estate sale for $25 or something ridiculously cheap like that. I absolutely love the 50mm Auto Sears lens on my K-50 digital! It has the best colors, the best clarity, and both the fastest speed to operate and the fastest shutter speed! Thinking of maybe busting out one of my KS Supers that I have ended up with since then to screw with every now and then. (might be that one, might be a different one, depends on which one is the cleanest and in the best condition)
I love my recently acquired (and in perfect condition) Sear KS Super II camera and 3 lenses, the 50, 70-210, and a 135mm, all as new. Question: since these were made by Ricoh, would these lenses also work on a K mount Pentax digital camera like a K30, K50, K5, etc.? Of all my 20+ cameras (digi and film), this one has me excited. I'm sure you have found this out since then but yes these lenses work wonderfully on the digitals! I absolutely love my Auto Sears 50mm on my k-50! It might be my favorite lens!
I have one of these given to me from my father. have 3 lenses. called KSX super. Will the lenses work on anything recent? i have one that's small about 1.5-2 inches. one that is about 4 inchs in length. and one that is 6-7 inches he said that telephoto lens??
Jack Mehoff these lenses will work on any camera that takes k mount lenses. They also make adapters for modern DSLR cameras. Just search "k mount lens adapter" on any shopping website.
Must agree. This is the sort of camera I wouldn’t actually mind taking with me to six flags or something like that. Good enough glass, and fairly light and easy to carry.
gopernoper ....the sears ricoh camera is actually the best...why??...people are paranoid about using their expensive Nikon....it might get scratched or dented hence the Nikon stays at home...useless...utterly useless.....a camera is a tool made to be used just like a toilet snake or a corded drill...and who cares about getting your corded drill a little muffed up....i am a camera nut myself...i like funky cameras...soviet cameras...anything weird...i suggest that you buy one...a total blast to use...

I'm not sure, there are many possible causes. First, put in a new battery, then try to wind and fire the shutter. If that doesn't work, try to lower the Mirror gently with your finger. Beyond that, I can't help you.
You may need to have it professionally serviced. Whatever you do, don't throw it away. Save the lens, it's rather good. Sell the body only on eBay for parts or repair, you might get a few bucks out of it. Keep the lenses for a different k mount camera.

I recently got a Sears KS with a lot of old cameras, on Ebay, and surprisingly I like it also......it just feels right to me!

When I look threw my view finder why is it black? And I can’t even see anything!?
Take the lens off and check the mirror. If it is up, then it might be stuck.
