Geez... enough about the lawn mowers... I want to see your "flinging lug-nuts across shop" technic. I don't think I'm doing it quite right. Cheers from the shed
Ryobi tools tend to get a bad rap. They aren't all that bad. Put a throttle cable on that old Toro. These "new" mowers with the fixed throttles are all but useless in tall grass. I have an old Snapper 21" Hi-Vac with a 3 1/2 flathead Briggs that puts these modern mowers to shame. I can throttle up if need be in heavier grass. It also scatters the clippings nicely after ignoring the warning about cutting or modifying the chute. 🙂🙂
Great video. That Ryobi impact driver looks like a great deal for what it is. So did you build a replacement handle or do the motor swap. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
Hey ShopKat, don't know if you ever seen this channel ...called- Toque Test Channel - ...guy test all sorts of tools through real test measuring equipment...You can see how they do before you spend your hard earn money on them . Thought I pass it along . Take It Easy ....
Yeah, he's great! I've heard different complaints about his methodology and whatever, but I wouldn't know the first thing about testing these tools to failure. I think he provides very valuable info!
Ya I'm with Randahl... fling some lug nuts. Maybe we could have some sort of competition for speed and distance like those Model T guys did with their "high-po" 4 bangers.
I would value that aluminum deck, especially for the light weight but also for the rust resistance as I mow lawns with lots of obstacles where light weight helps me maneuver more than self propelled would. Out on the farm I use magnesium deck 2 stroke Lawn Boys and have a classic, 2 horse Buttercup Lawn Boy, but would love an aluminum deck mower in the city where the 2 stroke is loud and smokey. When free parts become available I might try to swap that 5hp out for a 3.5 to save even more weight even at the expense of power, but I hear Briggs is lighter than Tecumseh. But I would consider that light deck worth time or money to try to fit a handle unless aluminum decks are a dime a dozen up there when they aren't around here. I wonder If it would be worthwhile for me to try to bolt a 3.5 Briggs to one of my green Lawn Boy 4, 2 stroke decks for use in the city? Ever try cutting out part of the front skirt on a push mower for use against brush? though I wouldn't waste an aluminum deck on that. Also these filterless and somewhat expendable push mowers are good places to test graphite in oil, in far less quantity than Project Farm.
I have too! I was disappointed with the hammer drill I bought, but I think I was defective. I got through what I needed to do, with much cursing, and then returned it for the Ryobi Airstrike 18V brad nailer, which I really like!
I'm almost at the end of the video.....wondering what will happen in the end. Cool video
Don’t look too happy 😂😆 I get it, snow in May is depressing 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome video brother. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
Thanks! You too!

Noted!
Those power tools do get expensive the only Milwaukee stuff I have is a drill and 1/2" impact. Everything else can use a cord.
I'm glad you posted today. I wanted to wish you a Happy Victoria Day .
Thank you so much!
I think you should take that motor and make top tech a go-cart.👍🇨🇦
Now we're talkin'!!!
Doesn’t Milwaukee own Ryobi?
They are actually both owned by the same parent company, TTi (Techtronic Industries), who also owns Ridgid!

Haha! It actually does have a throttle cable, as does the potential donor MTD...although it seems it might be broken!
It’s a runner

Neither, yet, because of the customer tractor coming in! So they're back-burnered for the time being.

Crazy hot-rodders!!!

At least it has a pretty light for late night wrenchin' SK!
I’ve had pretty good luck with Ryobi, hard to pass up roadside treasures

There ok for home use
Agreed! Why spend more, right?
With that many parts missing, it looks to me like you will have to start collecting mower junk, and therefore figuring out where to store mower junk.
Charger?
Lol
Lol - did somebody say Charger?
@@ShopKatIndustries Lol
Yeah, you know me!
Have a great night!
Top tech can always use it for his projects Sir ! Cheers !
Hee hee...I'm not sure he can even lift it yet! But I'm sure soon enough he'll be using it to bust the wheels off of a Power Wheels lol
