I found one! I am trying to figure it out and it’s grubby looking but I think I can get it shiny and looking new again? About a year ago I was wandering around a secondhand store and I saw it. It works but needs some TLC. I think it’s a gem 💎.
@@JebbAdamsmine is an EK. Does that matter? It does need a new belt because the one that’s on it now looks a little dried out and cracked so I will order one of those this coming Friday. I also need to figure out how to thread it.
I love your videos so much. I only just got my very own 306K treadle machine. I am so excited to be able to use it. I have ordered new bobbin cases for it. I am using a regular singer needle (modern) which is likely affecting my stitching. I am looking forward to doing more with it. I am from Australia too by the way. :-) look forward to watching and learning more with you! Thanks so much for helping all of us novices!
Good morning Hannah Hansen! Thank you for your time and consideration! You are so kind! Thanks! Of course, getting a message like this is the whole point! Congrats on your treadle 306K! You must be so excited I think! Enjoy the adventure! Peace!
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I wanted to tell you how much I've been enjoying watching your back catalog of videos. I love your conversational manner and the information that you impart. Like many sewing machine videos on TH-cam. Most of them range from mediocre to so-and-so. But yours are probably the highest that I've seen. I look forward to seeing all your content. I, too, have enjoyed the 306k and the 319k, both are very good machines. The major problem with them of course, is in getting the special needles that are needed for them. And the limited size that they do come in. But you can use the 306 as your daily machine. They're great from everything from mending, quilting, clothing construction and so forth. This is definitely a model that deserves to have its own cabinet. Keep up the good videos and I look forward to seeing more.
Thank you Mr. S! I DO appreciate your support. And thank you for your kind words,. Yes all three of these machines have the modified bobbin case to accept the common 15x1 needle. And they all have a case. The superb engineering is admirable to say the least! I feel fortunate to have had these machines come my way. A Singer 319! I have my eye looking out for a 319, or 320. It seems like you have sewing experience. Next weeks goal is to make a mask a day, and I am not a sewer. Here is my chance. Thanks again Mr. S , I hope we chat again soon. Keep safe, have fun.
@@JebbAdams You're welcome my friend. Making a mask is going to be a lot of fun. It's very easy. It'll probably take you 10 to 15 minutes. You're going to really love the Singer 319K. If you can, try to get it in the black color. I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of that green. I love the green, just not that color green. It's amazing how these machines in the last few years have started to becoming more popular. I think sewing enthusiasts are realizing that the 306K in a 319K are not the oddballs that they thought that they were. And you can pick a nice one up on eBay for just a few hundred dollars. Many are still available. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Mr. S! I like black! To get this black one I drove 900 km. 5 hours to get the machine and 5 hours to bring it back. Lol! But it was worth it. Right now, I am posting everyday.
Hi Red Oak! Can you or did you remove the front plates and screws? If everything is removed from the front of the stitch lever, perhaps there is an issue inside where the lever connects. That is what I would do; strip it all down to get inside and clean where that lever connects inside the upright. Thanks for the comment! I replied to your most recent comment but then I lost it! Good luck with that machine of yours my friend!
Does the 306 have any way to adjust the front-back alignment of the needle bar. The needle on my machine is hitting the back of the hole on the throat plate and I'm trying to figure out how to get it back in front. Noticed the problem when I replaced the damaged zigzag plate with a straight stitch plate. The plates fit perfectly with the mounting screws and the feed-dogs. Tried with different new needles, no luck.
I know on the 400 & 500 models that is adjusted under the bed. I have never done it. Get a Singer 306k Adjusters Manual. It explains it well. I wish I could be of more help; but I don't have any experience doing that. I will make a short video in the next few days, showing my 400/500 Manual diagrams. I will get them up sooner, thanks for this great question! Hit the notify icon, that way you'll get a message as soon as I post it, please & !thank you! Talk soon, prolly! Have fun, me too, lol!
@@JebbAdams Thanks. I've got a 298 FashionMaker. Managed to find out it's same/similar to 224 and 306. Can't find a video or Adjuster's or repair manual for any of them nor a store to fix it. So I'm out asking anyone who's done any work with any of these.
Hi Jaqueline James! Yes, but it will be a month at least! Unfortunately, next week I am having surgery. Followed by a month of bed rest. Thank you for considering me! It is appreciated.
I bought my 306K yesterday 18-4-24 and am looking for a name to call it. It was bought at the Remake charity shop in Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland for £20. It is in beautiful condition almost like new. What name shall I call it. Is it male or female? It came with the original manual which the owner put a cover over. It also came with the original tube of grease in a little box and has about 80% of the grease remaining. It has all the 10 Fashion Discs. Its carry box is also in remarkable condition. For all its life it's been in a well heated, dry, caring home. In Crieff there are many old large expensive houses, could have spent its years here in Crieff, don't know, must ask the charity shop where I bought it.
It can be called anything you want it to be, can't it? I am starting to refer to them by serial number! I used to name them after the people I bought them from, lol.
Hi Jebb, I am new to your channel and new to a beautiful 306k my mom scored at an estate sale here recently. I have broken a needle i think because, we’ll i notice that the needle is hitting the bobbin case. Is this fixable? I’d hate to break another needle. I purchased some 206x13 needles. Any advice would help. Thank you in advance.
Hello Laly Reyes! My script for the next video is to talk about the 206x13 needles and to work on the bobbin case and hook. To be published Sunday 9 May. What else would you like us to work on? Thank you for subscribing Laly! I (and the machines) appreciate your support!
@@JebbAdams oh yay! I will be tuning in then. Thank you for your videos. Very helpful. For now I will follow along getting it cleaned up. If I run into another question I will surely ask thank you Jebb!
Hey Ken! I am not sponsored by any businesses! I get the majority of my supplies from Central Michigan Sewing Supplies. They ship to Canada! They are competitively priced! Singer I can't say Ken. Never dealt with them. Thanks for the comment Kenneth!
Thank you. I heard you mentioned Cental Michigan Sewing Supply in another video. They seem very good. Thanks for that tip. The problem I have with virtually all of the European vintage machines is the drive belts. Once they break, you're out of luck. I have a beautiful old Adler that had a broken belt. I machine fit new gears and a drive chain. It works again. Fun job. Again thanks
That looks like a strong workhorse!
It’s a beast! lol! Thanks for stopping by!

I have 2. Brown and green. I use it for zig zag (bartack) i have english manual. Both work well. The things that this machine can do. 😮
Oh, my motor burned so I put 100w motor. Actually need 200w motor.
I timed mine with juki needles. Needles last for ever.
