I first saw this method from Timothy Totten but he didn't know who started it either. So we are still in the dark and I dont care. I love making the squares. They are so much fun

I have seen this method, but they did not open up the seams! I like that idea! Thanks!
I think opening up the seams makes it easier too! It definitely helps to make the seams lay flat.
