I've always tied the FG like this and never understood why people said it was such a hard knot to tie , that was until I tried to tie it the way people say you should using you leg or holding the line in your teeth and yea I understand why some people think its to awkward to tie , probably the easiest knot to tie in the dark as you can do it entirely on feel , great video hopefully more people start doing it this way
Lure fished the past 3 years tried multiple times to do the fg and normally get frustrated and just tie an albright. Finally after watching this and a bit of practice I’ve tied a neat fg 😂
@@Anglingaddict75 Hi mate im going through all your videos you have including the older ones and watching them all. They are very inspiring videos and have got me started on bass fishing. Im a complete noobie to bass fishing and dont have much idea. Usually i fly fish for rainbow trout and other types of trout which is incredibly fun. I got interested in bass fishing because i like the thrill of the fight and aggresion which trout are also like. I have a few questions if you dont mind answering them please. Ok so at the moment im borrowing my dads lure rod its a savage gear sgs5 and have a nice penn reel. The location im going to be fishing in is off the rocks into the sand down in cornwall basically a beach but theres rocks further on to fish off. I got some surf seekers to begin with 2 white pearl ones i got an extra white pearl one people say the white one is really good. And i have a black one and another colour so basically one of each colour and 2 pearl white ones with one colour i dont have but i can get that another time. The main question i have is about the tide. I know for general sea fishing 2 hours before high tide and 2 hours after high tide is the standard for all species mackeral pollack etc or whatever else. For bass fishing is it the same idea? As i said im just going off a beach area off the rocks for now it actually has a feature there a small light stream going out to the sea ive seen tons of mullet down there even jumping out im sure theres bass there. Is the 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide ideal or 1 hour before and 1 hour after high tide etc? Id appreciate a little help on that if you dont mind very appreciated. Hopefully i hear a comment from you and sorry for the ultra long comment lol. You have a new subscriber. Thanks my friend.
Thanks for your support on the channel and glad to hear the videos are an inspiration for you. In regard to tide..... what you want is movement (current) in the water and it really depends on the mark you will be fishing. Some places fish are there on the flood, sometimes the ebb. It's about fishing the mark at every state of tide and finding when they are there. Find your structure, weed beds, rocks, weed patches etc. As you are fishing onto sand I would be looking for the current and the foam left behind waves, bass LOVE that part! Hope this helps and keep me posted on how you do.
@@Anglingaddict75 Hi mate appreciate the reply. I understand ill try different states of the tide. Should i fish 2 hours before high tide the flood and 2 hours after high tide the ebb? Ive read different articles on tide times but they all say different ones some say 2 hours on each side of high tide the flood and ebb and some say an hour of each side of high tide the flood and the ebb. Can you please also help me with that? Would appreciate it. I changed this comment around a few times to correct how i wanted to say it. Would love to hear another reply. Thanks again mate.
Great video, Wayne. i struggled with using my hands,so i cheated and bought a tool. The knot assist 2 it makes my life easier.I now have a beautiful FG knot.
I watched a video the other day where the braid is wrapped round the reel handle with a slight bend in the rod, leaves you two hands to tie on the leader then. Either way, once I learned to tie it, it's game changer that every lure angler needs to know how to tie.
Fantastic video, Angling Addict 75. Looking forward to seeing your next upload. I smashed the thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the awesome work! Your demonstration of the FG knot was exceptionally clear. What considerations do you recommend when choosing the right line for optimal performance with this knot?
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it enough to smash the lime button. In regard to the "right line" this is a braid to fluorocarbon knot and I'm pretty sure you can do it with and diameter. I use a 20lb main line and 20lb leader
I like that way?! But I take braid make a surgeons loop and put it on the reel handle then tension it? Basically the reel handle is acting like your pinky in this method? Super simple, think I saw that reel handle method on a channel “Otts Garage”? Cheers man nice vid

Brilliant video easy to follow that's another way i can tie the FG knot with a easy finish to lock it off

I use that method myself never looked back 🎣
It took me ages to learn how to tie it and when I found this way..... mind blown!
The knot is definitely a game changer, your not wrong.
It's a game changer
Great explanation Wayne, I’ve always used a double uni, it’s taken me a while to get the hang of this FG, but that was very helpful 👍🎣🐟
@kevinbuckler1085 double uni is a great knot and an easy knot but chunky if it goes through the eyes 👀.
Glad you found this helpful
Wayne brilliant and useful information as always brother 👍🏻
