- I loved the original affordable Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 Blackout. It wasn’t perfect, but it was awesome!
Ruger is dead set on perfecting the American Ranch rifle because they released the Gen II version, which is noticeably better than the Gen 1.
With features like a smoother action, raised cheek comb, adjustment for length of pull, new cerakote paint, fluted barrel, and more, the Gen 2 version of the American Ranch Rifle is punching above its price class.
Few things can make shooting as happy as the Ruger American Ranch Rifle Can, and at its price point, you get so much for the money that you can’t help but smile.

... bargin?
How hard was it to take the break off? Just bought the .308 version, and plan to put a can on it.
They're already trying to ban body armor. They're calling it assault armor that ricochets 1 million rounds per second
For some reason I can't post a comment without jumping onto someone else's comment, care to explain CN?
1 thing better...a 12" barrel that shoots super sonic ammo at sub sonic speeds because they cant reach full velocity, but subs are not affected..
Politicians "it can take standard AR mag?, yea it's an AR. Let ban it"
You mean "clips" right?
@@flopiflopa972 oh right 😂 clips.
@@chrismiller5168 High caliber clip that will destroy the meat.
Which part of "shall not be infringed" didn't you understand? Should be the response.
@@davinci32599mm round when you add a brace it becomes an automatic assault weapon it will blow your lung out
They’ll find a way to call this an assault rifle.
Yup. That magazine is going to do it.
Bolt rhymes with assault, so duh.
They always will, but it's a great looking rifle to take those who are propagandized to the range with the 10 round. Because it's not black and scawwwy wooking
The media will probably call it a “bolt action assault rifle” 😂😂
@@kevonwintersDon't give them any ideas! Lol
Gotham Cities new villain, the Giggler.
Kurzy already killed him (as well as everyone else) in Death Wish 3.
They shot the Giggler man! They killed the Giggler!
I was thinking this was a trailer for a new Batman movie.
The black giggler
For those that have or are planning to get the version in 5.56, it shoots best with 75 or 77 grain bullets.
Ooo! I gotta try that new weighted bullet choice! I've been doing 55 gr rounds, aka M193 "ball"/FMJ ammo and it runs excellent in my Gen 1 Ruger American Ranch.
Average group size your getting at 100 yards?
Are they multi cal? Or does 223 have its own version?
@@knunn5171 Theres a 223
That's literally what I'm going for now, same rifle and bullet type. Only I'd prefer the longer barrel blue one, not ranch model.
The inquirer headline "Colion Noir caught cheating on Staccato with scantly clad Ruger! See inside for salacious photos!"
😂😂
Colion has a way of saying a lot of things without saying anything
like a woman
@@judethenekogamer3651 At least this guy is understandable women expect you to be some magical mind reader.
That's all of youtube.
And he's a lawyer so it's on brand
Just reading the brochure and using all of the cool buzz words.
damn, that is quiet
My thoughts exactly
didnt even have ear pro in
Subsonic ammo, don't really need ear pro.
And suppressed.
A flow-through can on a bolt action rifle. A $1600 can on a $600 rifle. I do like the irony on this one.
It's like putting $1600 rims on a beater car. lol
@paulis7319 are you saying the rifle is bad?
@@Bigfoothawk He's saying he a snob, if anything.
@@Bigfoothawk Not at all! I want one. I'm also the guy with the $1500 vehicle carrying a $4000 mountain bike. lol
Once the NFA is gone though
The .308 gen 2 is a beast
The only issue I have is it takes AICS mags and not AR 10(SR 25) magazines… by the information on Rugers website??
Get the AI-pattern Ruger Scout mags.
Seems like a great rifle. The cheek riser is a great and needed feature.
The sad part is, though, it has been around on the American rimfire for years. It isn't new, not even to the American lineup, just to the centerfire lineup. It is nice though.
@@Thevoiceofsomething yes you are right about that.
Whew I have figured it out. You know in those scary movies where you hear an eerie laugh. Well don’t flip out it’s Colion shooting a suppressed ruger. No reason to panic 😂
gen 1 in 7.62x39 is very fun as well.
He got one of the most luckiest job in the world he get to shoot guns all day
And gets paid for it . I'd love to have a job like that
He created his job
That would make an awesome feral hog rifle, set up like that.
Also, you can see how light it is as you're moving it around like it's a feather.
😂 nah you want as much bullets and mag’s possible for hogs
@Recipe_For_Dihsaster_TV he's talking in the sense of sitting and shooting hogs, where accuracy is more important than rounds down range.
Definitely a solid option for those looking for a reliable and affordable bolt-action rifle.
Colion, Thanks again for turning me on to this rifle. (7.62 model) I took it out to the range for the first time yesterday and began re-learning how to site in a scope. A great guy named Mike came over and spent time making sure I got it right and helping with it. He was an ex-Army instructor. Thanks to Mike for teaching an old dog new tricks. Gun was great, but a bit stiff being brand new. I was told to break it in and it will get better. Again, Thanks to Colion!
The way that scope mounts is SATISFYING. I have spent HOURS prodding at rifle ergonomics vs scope mounts, and that just looks amazing, looks like it's comfortable to boot.
It never ceases to amaze me how Colion and I have the same reaction when at the range. I don't know why more people don't experience the joy it is to go and practice a skill so important as shooting.
It's impressive to see the improvements made, especially with features like the smoother action and adjustable length of pull.
This guys laughter/giggle is priceless,,,, so happy,,,, like a little kid testing out a newly opened pellet rifle on Christmas morning 😅,,,,,
Speed shot bolts: Use your thumb and index finger on the bolt (Never take them off) and use your ring or last finger to pull the trigger.
"I lost my AR in a tragic boating accident!" "Then why are you still buying 5.56 and AR magazines?" "After my tragic boating accident, I found a new home for my ammo and magazines!"
Those repetitive laughs could be in a horror movie!
yea those were a bit unnatural lmao
great vid though!
Zombie movie . Guy on a roof shooting zombies had the same laugh . Forgot the name of the movie .
@@TiredOldMann Dawn of the Dead perhaps? great movie! The remake was actually pretty good
@@randalthor6872 👍
I picked up one of the first ones to hit my local scheels in 5.56. I love the bolt knob and the action on mine, that and the magazine compatability sold me. Have one stash for 2 platforms is great. The factory muzzle device is a thumper too.
"it's so dry!"

Yeah I like how he paid a little homage to the guy!

Have a Savage .308/7.62-51 "110 Tactical, 24" barrel" with a Vortex Optic.
Can easily 'ping three inch steel' at over 200yds. Their "Accu-fit" system was around years before this.
I'd love to try it at 800-1000
Thanks Colion for sharring your opinion on this rifle. I'm going to look into it for myself.
6:41 thought I wouldn’t catch you when you said stingle stage trigger 👀 haha great video brotha stay safe
Being able to simplify your mag options is always welcome. My Ruger American Hunter .308 uses the AICS mags from Magpul which is pretty common. My Ruger 10/22 and American Rimfire bolt action uses the same 10 rd. rotary mag so that makes things easy too. I was looking at multiple .22 bolt action rifles but simplifying my mag collection was a big part of choosing another Ruger as I already had the 10/22. AR mag compatible bolt action is just a logical step.
Sort of like so many PCC are Glock mag compatible.
I find myself tending towards revolvers nowadays SPECIFICALLY because I have mag management fatigue. I will always consider a gun that can share mags with other guns now over one that has it's own proprietary mag just because I own too damn many mags as it is. Even better if the magazine is internal.
I have that model in 7.62x39, working up some subsonic loads with the Sub-X 255 grainers now.
I love the 300 blackout and I have a H+R handi rifle . The bolt action version is on my bucket list
“IT’S SO DROY” made me spit out my beer 🍻 😂
Your chuckle is contagious.
I want something like this with a Steven's curve on a forgrip to make it pump action
I have one with a boyd custom stock on it and I love it. Run it with the Q trash panda and it quickly became my favorite toy.
It's satisfying just watching you shoot that thing! Sweet! Anything that gets your happy on like that is cool for sure! Might have to check one of those out! For the money, add on a suppressor? Not too shabby for an entry level rifle! Trigger therapy that brings a big smile is always the best! You shooting 300 BLK subsonic? :)
I wonder what he thinks about fully suppressed big bore air rifles. .50, .45, and .38 are super quiet. The only flaw they have is no magazine. So quiet and soft. You hit wild boar in the brains and the others dont even stop to figure out why their buddy is instantly sleeping.
Looks like the perfect set up for hunting. Definitely have to get this set up.
Thanks for the Steve Irwin clip, wasn't even looking at the screen when that popped up and new exactly what it was.
That rifle doesn't appear to make a pew sound, but more of a phut sound. Just started messing around with the can accessory myself. Makes things more fun when the neighbors don't know you are out shooting.
I have the "gen 1" in 3 calibers. They are crazy accurate.
Wish i would have waited for the gen 2.
Thank you Sir
I recently got the predator version in 6mm Arc, very nice with the Vortex Viper 4-16x44. But it'll be even more nice with the Magpul stock and Timney trigger I have on order.
I love mine as well i’m running a silencer co chimera and I’m running a 6 to 24 power V4 Zeiss conquest
I want to see you review the Mossberg patrol MVP ranch rifle. I have a 556 one and I'm absolutely loving it
Very nice, Colion we all have mounted a scope base backwards. Very cool video, Ruger is one of the best.
So a few years ago I got the chance to piece together and I'm still working on it. I own a 300 blackout AR that I customized. I still am customizing it because there's things I don't like about it that I'm trying to perfect. Like the sleeve that goes over the barrel I haven't found one I want and the trigger I haven't found the one I want either. Still researching what I want it to do. There is other stuff too. Part of my problem is the price of the part. I can't afford it right now, but I hope to soon.
8.6 Blackout with 1-3 twist and 300 gr Sierra. ✨ (.338-6.5 Creedmore). ✨
Mine is 556. Love it
I'm not a huge bolt action guy but I definitely like this one!
Appreciate the video exactly what I'm looking for gonna have to subscribe thanks again!
That’s a pretty cool setup.
Now if Ruger will redesign the Mini to accept AR mags...
I don't think there's a "right" or "wrong" way to use an offset scope mount.
I've seen people use them to mount LPVOs on lever guns where you can't mount a rail on the top of the receiver or scout style rifles.
Personally: I think whatever direction you need the scope and rail offset is the right way.
There is something zen about cycling a bolt action gun.
He's having all the fun!
Very nice. Thanks for the review.
Dammit. Now I am going to have to get one because it takes AR mags. BTW, I absolutely love it when you review more affordable guns. Keep up the great work.
Awesome platform and functionality
Mines on order, Thanks Colion 👌
The laughter at the beginning was terrifying
I'd buy this man a round of beers anytime.
I got one and even without a can it makes you smile. If you cast your own bullets it is dirt cheap to shoot
Nice setup!
I've had an American ranch for a few years now. There's nobody out there that can beat this quality and capability for the $$$.
That is a bad ass piece of tech. Send it on down range, Colion.
Love the content. Nice to see you at my home range.
I have had that build in the Gen 1 it’s awesome
I love my gen 2 in 300 blk. It was my first 300 blk and I really like the round. I also live in the mountains, so if you used this for hunting or shtf, the shortened barrel on the ranch version will be perfect. I believe I bought mine for right at $500 when it first came out. It is an awesome rifle for the price and it will be even better when I can buy a suppressor.
Thanks for the review
Yes, i did that. It was amazing
We also make a chassis for this rifle that allows you to keep the use of the AR mags 😉
That looks like a really good setup!
7.62x39 with Firecastle mag well adapter to use PMAG AK mags
I like that it's a cool Hey I gotta say out of all the merch I boughtten yours holds up the best I bought two hats and two hoodies over a year ago they still look like brand new
I bought the gen 2 in 223. Awesome pickup.
Saved a few. I went with the Savage 110 Tactical in .308 Win 10+1 20" just purchased an Area 419 SIDEWINDER Magnum Self Timing Brake, not installed yet, along with a Harris bipod that should arrive soon.
Ruger Americans with an AR mag and lpvo are a vibe as the kids say. Was thinking of doing a gen 1 with a magpul stock but the Gen 2s are nice and would probably be cheaper.
I’ve given up trying to cycle subs reliably through my upper I might just buy this and be done with it
They will call it a sniper rifle and try to ban it too
Had to make sure i wasnt listening to Elmo during the intro
I would love a gen 2, but my gen 1 gets such good groups, even with its sloppy action, id hate to "upgrade" (maybe just the stock)
Nice coyote eliminator, fun gun for target practice and reasonable for decent quality
Upgrading the bolt handle to a glades armory helps a lot as well.
Just like your last video (the gen 1) I need this setup even if it is only for the fun factor
This is the next one on my list!!
Have one sitting here with a 1x6 SIG optic waiting on my can approval 🤫🤫🤫 that and the cmmg banshee is a epic combo
Looks sweet!
I need this in my life !! 😮
If you get rid of the heavy-assed factory trigger spring, you've got something! Ruger should've shipped it with a mag that was friendly for 200+ grained subsonic loads, but that's a small thing. The stock is considerably better than the Gen 1, but a Magpul Hunter stock with the STANAG magwell makes it the shiznit! I LOVE mine!
And I am very !satisfied! 😃😃😃 I will have to check it out
Ruger has been killing it lately...
I'm def, def, definitely being one a them...
I still like my gen 1, but I gotta have one of these warlocks.
Excellent content as usual
That is amazing, that is my dream rifle right there, exactly what I would like to have, my first rifle was a very old marlin with peep sight on the rear and a hooded front sight in 22LR. That rifle(the one being reviewed in the video) with a nice green dot sight would be the adult version of that old marlin. I don’t know the model number, it had a bull barrel and a super sweet trigger. I think my grandpa (a machinist) worked the trigger. I lost that rifle and several others in a structure fire. It seemed like I could hit anything with it, the one I learned to shoot with. Was not allowed to use any optical sights until I was about 16. My dad wanted me to learn how to shoot with iron sights, something I did not like , but I’m glad he did it that way now. Even still all these years later a good set of iron sights is all I need. What seems the most comfortable on certain types of weapons at least.
Very nice modern american hunting rifle.
3:21 low rings still won’t get the optic low enough to get a cheek weld instead of chin weld. And AR type scope mounts are meant to push the scope forward to clear the charging handle, and you can shorten your length of pull easily to make up for the shorter eye relief. Putting AR scope mounts backwards is actually the way to go for a bolt gun, if for whatever reason you don’t wanna use rings
Yo tengo el Ruger American ranch de la primera generación en 5.56 NATO y es brutal 10/10
I get called a Fudd, and likely will again , but I actually prefer bolt and lever actions over semi-auto . It's just more fun to me . Especially if you are trying for some speed . And that's what I am looking for when at a range , or even better just plinking random stuff at my friends farm. FUN.
I just bought one of these a few days ago and now Colin Noir does a video about it… what a weird coincidence lol😅
Might have to look more at the American rifle
