Heck yea. Just got my full Pablos and Luminance sets and I'm jealous of your new pencils lol. Lots of people dislike the pablos i guess im different i love them. Id prefer they were round but no biggie.
Yay! I love these pencils. I'm not sure they are still available but they also had a 30 pencil anniversary set that are lovely! They were out around the time I bought the 120 set a few years ago. So of course I bought both! Lol I can't wait for the showdown.
I was wondering what the stickers inside the tins were for. That was a mind blowing moment for me 🤣! I think watercolor pencils are such a great medium for people like me who are branching out from dry coloring pencils to watercolor. If it wasn’t for watercolor pencils I would not have ventured to try watercoloring.
It actually took me a minute to figure out the stickers too and then I had a lightbulb moment one day. Watercolor pencils are just so much fun, you can do them on the couch/in bed unlike traditional ones. So they are a treat.
Yay!!!!! You got them! I've been waiting for the comparisons of the top watercolor pencils. I look forward to the battle. Happy Holidays, Kori and Family.
I have a few open stock ones I love them. I'm very new so I still have a lot to learn! Thank you for all your videos !!! By the way. I love the music you chose
Actually the Supracolors have been around since at least the early 90s or maybe before. But at that time, they were called Supracolor 2. I know because I bought a 12 color set in maybe 1991. I just got the 120 set as an early xmas present for myself.😁 I plan to get at least one more super premium set so that I can cover myself lightfast-wise. The Caran de Ache Supracolors, as you know are mostly lightfast, but some are rated 1 star on a scale of 1-3. So I just want to know I have what I need LF wise. But these are incredibly soft and blending is a dream. Besides, I just want more of the best color pencils.
Yes, I do know these are lightfast - although the Museum Aquarelles have the highest, but are quite opaque. I do enjoy the Supracolor II and don't regret buying them, but I do feel like the Albrecht Durer are smoother - could just be me.
I have single pencil collected about ten of the Supracolor water color pencils from Michaels and they are so pretty! Can’t wait to watch as I don’t have any full sets beyond the inktense which I know are ink 🥰
Enjoy your new pencils, its a beautiful set. I bought some of the lighter colors open stock and I really enjoy them. I will probably pick out some more after seeing how beautiful some of the colors are.
It did change. They renamed a few, so if you have older Polys you will notice a difference in the names. The number is still the same for that color, but the name of the color is what they've been changing lately.
What’s the difference between these water-based supracolor pencils and the museum aquarelle? would love to hear a comparison. Are they basically the same as one higher and then the other? Does one have more colors? Thank you.
So both are watercolor pencils, but the lightfast rating of the museum aquarelle are at their highest and they are heavily pigmented while these are much more translucent and don't have the same lightfast ratings. Basically, the Museums are similar to the Caran d'ache Lumis line of colored pencils
Im glad u liked them 💗. I bought this pencils last year and really love them ,this year I got the albrecht durer bc you recommended them and omg they are as good as u said, they both perform great ,but the caran d ache have some green and blue tones that faber castell lack but the faber castell look more fancy they compliment each perfectly and I haven't bought any other watercolor pencils bc I don't think any can be as good as those 2 sets.
Thank you so incredibly much again. I would love to have the Pablo’s and Supracolor but wondering if just the Supracolor would be enough as they can be used wet and dry? Do the Pablo and supras feel very different? I’m going to order some open stock hopefully but it’s hard to tell usually from a smaller selection of pencils if they will layer and blend nicely ( sometimes watercolor pencils don’t feel as good as typical pencils if that makes sense!). I can’t really tell 100% unless I really use them all for a while if that makes sense. From what I’ve seen and heard they seem like they would be nice as just coloured pencils? Or do I need to save somehow and get both? Are they different enough to justify both the Pablo and supra? Lol! I can dream, but never know maybe one day! Thank you so incredibly much again and incredibly sorry for all the questions!
You can use Supracolor dry, yes. I’d say they feel somewhat close to one another in terms of lay down when dry, but really I’d need to pull them out and do a more in-depth comparison…hmmm maybe I’ll do that.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic oh thank you! That would be amazing! I’m needing to make a decision asap tho, but would love to see your video or hear your thoughts about how they compare. Is it justified getting both!?! lol are they different enough do you think? Thank you so much again
No not yet. My daughter had broken her leg and so I plan to get back onto the watercolor pencil battles this fall once the kids are in school and I have (some) freedom again lol
So original Supracolor, which goes by numerous names, was a first generation but weren't really watersoluble. They didn't have the same pigments, and if you ever look at comparisons between Supracolor 1, Supracolor Fine, Prismalo, and Supracolor 2 you will see that the II are superior in watersolubility, but also color payout while Supracolor 1 are hardly watersoluble and are a lot harder and not as smooth as the II
Don't worry, took me a few sets to figure it out too lol. You honestly don't need 120 watercolor pencils. I did a video showing how you can totally create your own set with just 12.
Kori interesting video I am in the market for either Pablo’s or supracolour. I don’t like hard pencils which I have heard the supracolour are very hard to use do you agree? These seem much more softer from what you say and the fact you can use them dry is good. Could you use the derwent blender pen with the supracolour ? Thankyou I value your opinion
No, and I think during the test I mention they are quite smooth. I think Pablos are much harder than these. I don't think they would work well with a blender pencil, but because they are waxier they might work
I think I did a swatching and first impressions. But I haven't done much else just yet. I do plan to do more this month. I've been coloring with them, just not on camera lol
Did I hear you correctly when you said that you repurchased the Pablos? If yes, I hope you do a revisit of them soon. Very interested in hearing your opinions on them.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic good to hear! I know you're busy with the watercolor pencil videos but I hope you can dedicate a video to the Pablos when you're ready. :)
What kinda bad batches from Amazon? Fake or just didn’t work properly? I noticed my 40 set doesn’t have all of them stamped as supracolor ii, only 13 out of 40 say that and some of the pictures in Caran D IG look woke that too some I’m confused
I keep drooling over these! Saving up to get hold of the full set 🎨🤪 Quick question: does the bottom pencil tray lift out of the case? Thanks for sharing, hoping you'll post a coloring tutorial with these soon 🥰

I LOVE these pencils!! I want them BAD! However, after I watched your video, I moseyed on over to Amazon Canada only to find out that they are $650- ( jaw on ground)! It’s actually cheaper for me to buy the Museum Aquarelles 72 set is $455-CA. I have full set syndrome!😩 I might have to stick to a few open stock here and there. Now I’m depressed! I can’t wait for BATTLE OF THE WATERCOLOUR PENCILS!🥷🏻🧙🏻♀🗡⚔🛡🔮🪄👍🏻😘💜💗🇨🇦

Prismalo (spell?) are hard. I bought them and sent them back. I have a set of Classicolor, which they don't make anymore. They were my Dad's. They are very nice. I think they were probably their student brand. But nice. Better than the Prismalo.
It’s possible that the Classicolor have been replaced by the CD Swisscolor watercolor pencil. I have an 18-count set of Swisscolor which came in a cardboard packet. I think they are a great starter set for anyone who would like to try a CD product at a manageable price point. My only issue is that the Swisscolor watercolor pencils are skinny, but I shouldn’t complain they were just under $10.
