Sight reading with an instrument isn't really that difficult as long as you know how to read music and play the instrument. Don't get me wrong, playing flight of the bumblebee, albeit at this slower speed, is still impressive. I couldn't play it at that speed. But if you're going to play a classical piece to impress people, take the time to practice the piece and play flight of the bumblebee At its natural 600 beats per minute.
@@ameliajohnson8428 I used to move my fingers around so much after I messed up that my old flute had some of its keys slightly bent, when I went to repare it people were like "bro wtf?!"
At some point it switched from reading to muscle memory. It's a bit of both. And you can remember how the song goes and what pitches sound like in tune.
YOU GUYS okay so I know I played the last three measures incorrectly. I'm human and make mistakes. I spent more time focusing on the difficult passages and made a silly mistake. That's why you should spend more than 90 minutes learning a piece ;)
I also feel like part of the difficulty on flute is breath capacity. Maybe it’s just me as a severe asthmatic, but the speed and finding time to breath is hard.
I think it’s supposed to lol bc since bees wings flap super fast. Also maybe to show how it flies around u and u don’t know whether it’s gonna sting u or not so maybe that was the composer’s intention. To show that through the music.
Flight of the bumblebee is a good bang for your buck type piece. I think at 14 I only did 2 things. Play chromatic scales and this. My parents were impressed so mission accomplished

I love how it shows parts of her messing up because it proves that you can’t expect someone to be able to play something just straight all the way through in order to be an AMAZING player
It also depends on the instrument. Different instruments will have different difficulty levels for the same song. Like with piano, you have to be able to play the main part 15 notes per second as well as the left hand, whereas with other instruments you only need to master the one part. I think they are difficult, but its more than just chromatic scales but faster
Yeah, but if you watch, she would raise her fingers not immediately going to be used around 1 1/2 to 2 inches above, rather than almost on top. Sure, when she would constantly use a finger (such as right ring finger on F#, Eb, D, etc.), she was almost on top of it the whole time, but I did notice her raising it when not in use.
