mexican singers from that era used to put the microphone away because they barely need it, their voice is so powerful (until this day) it fills the theatre very easily, amazes me how they haven't lost that power even thru so many years of singing because unlike pop singers, they dont use playback, autotune or any of that stuff.

Hard to tell what year it is from but its Ranchera Music. One thing not a lot of people know about him is if you look close he has a real gun on his belt. when he was asked to remove it he said a Charro is not a real Charro without his gun. The only person who is allowed to carry a real gun to a concert. Thats when you know he was the real Rey of Ranchera music.
He is the greatest Mexican signer ever... He has so many hits.

This music is Mariachi music and Vicente Fernandez is one of the great icons along with Jorge Negrete, Javier Soliz, Pedro Infante, and countless others of the 30's, 40's, 50's era and it is extremely dominate in the Mexican culture in Mexico and now for several decades has been embraced by the American culture. I am a Hispanic American and we grew up with this kind of music and all kinds of other Spanish music in our home. It is most revered by the older generations of our Hispanic culture but more and more the younger Hispanic generations have taken note of the that golden era of the Hispanic past. If you like this older video and icons of the past singing mariachi music, you should listen to Luis Miguel, a younger generation singer and icon in his own right, singing, "La Bikina", you will love it. Those are Charro songs. Yes, rancheros. Charros are Mexican cowboys. Those outfits are worth over $20k to $60k each because they use silver amd gold thread to make them. I met him several times. He was very down to earth. Within 10 minutes he was like another member of the family. Liked to joke around. Ill miss him.
