Every forklift operator ever is cringing at his operation of this, moving with a load in the air, tilting in all the wrong places 😳 I expect they were all shouting ‘tilt forward, tilt forward’ with that first placement 😆
I've been a truck driver and now I work in warehouse. Here is a point of advice. While driving with a pallet on your forks, make sure it's as low as possible w/o dragging on the ground. When is up in the air your center of gravity goes up with it. This is the first thing I though of when you were on the 2nd mission.
Also should drive backwards for the longer distances with a rear wheel steered fork truck. Makes the turning much easier and less violant on the load when your carrying it. Turning corners while goig forward is opposite of a front steer. i.e. for a right turn you want to be on the right side of the isle so the ass end has plenty of room to swing around. Just make sure the front wheels are past the corner before you start the turn.
I was never taught that, I was taught that you line the front wheel up with the corner and then turn, sounds like you just have coordination problems!! if you're not accelerating too hard there is no violence and theres no need at all to drive backwards for the longer distances
Usually you'll have the forks just off the ground in forward position when you drive off Squirrel 😆. Moving them from that height down could cause dangerous situations when driving. When driving with a pallet about 10 to 15cm from the ground & depending on the weight or balance in the backwards position when visibility is bad in reverse. ,-A real life forklift driver.
To me, being part of a warehouse is pretty damn fun! I just got a job in a warehouse, and I love it! I get to package the product, palletize it, and even load it into a trailer when the time comes! No forklift though, but the fact that I'm a part of Logistics is FREAKING SWEET!
Hey man, whereabouts are you based? I want a job in logistics, I did have a job as a warehouse assistant but I relocated. Are there any vacancies were you are?
Well I was driving Jungheinrich FLT for some years. Modelling is almost perfect there are some stuff that's not matching. This game could be good maybe if they would give more realism and meaning to do stuff around, just like Squirrel said. Game review is entertaining as usual. Keep it up, great job. :) Tip1 : never ever travel with pallets kept in the air.. Lower it down quite close to the ground so the FLT will be more stable in turns and won't tip over. Tip2: If you can in the game... use full tilt back after you have the pallet so it won't slide down from the forks when you brake or turn. Paul if you need FLT lessons contact me :D
Just a few pointers for you on the forklift simulator 1. Raise the forks no more than 4-6 inches off the floor slightly tilted back. This is called the travelling position 2. To avoid mouse trapping the forklifts always carry loads in the travel position 3. If a load obstructs your view while transporting, travel in reverse Loving your chanel. Any questions please feel free to ask. Keep on trucking
I've had a forklift license for around 5 years now, its not half as hard in reality as it looks on this game, the hardest looking parts seemed to be where you went wrong, travelling forks in the air , tilting at wrong times or when you didn't actually need to, but im not going to dig at problems, you did well to say its all keyboard!
ive been in the warehouse industry for nearly 3 years and driving forklifts is so much fun. im now driving a combilift which is a 4 directional forklift :)
I’ve recently graduated with a masters in logistics, I also joined a warehouse/dc... this made me laugh the whole way through, your commentary is funny. At work we have to get the stock and put them into their uod’s for transportation to their stores and this is like real life.
As silly as this game is I actually enjoyed watching this. Paul is trying to make the best of it instead of other TH-camrs complaining how terrible the game is. Yes it is terrible but we know that by now. He seems to enjoy it to a certain degree.
Well I think in a way he knows that we want to see this kind of stuff. I mean as good as a good game is, for enjoyment from watching a video the bad games are the best. But I agree, I like that he is giving this game a chance even though it sounds like its going to be crap and boring after the first half hour of game play.
IntrepidRacer13 Two things - yes, I want to give the game a chance, but also I want to show the game to you guys so that you can make a decision about whether to buy a game or not. I could be showing you a gem of a game that you missed, or possibly saving you from wasting your money.
DaSquirrelsNuts more more more, we (meaning I ) want to see more forkilft stuff, coming from someone who does this as part of his living this is actually interesting
right, cause somewhere in the world ( as sad as it may be) this matters to someone. But ill take a real lift and some cones to practice around over a sim anyday.
+Matthew Gunnink I agree, I actually want this game :D +Squirrel needs to do his basic training, moving with the load in the air, hitting the racking, driving into people, trying to pick up pallets without levelling the forks, hey, at least he did some kind of pre-start check ;D
I work in a supermarket warehouse, and funnily enough use Jungheinrich equipment. If you think the counterbalance goes high, try using the reach trucks. The ETV 320 goes to 11m and has a 2000kg limit. It's much easier in real life, although alot safer on the PC. I lost 3 toes last year thanks to a forklift accident on said ETV 320 lol
The first thing I notice is people walking around everywhere is very far from realistic. You cant have forklifts and people walking around at the same place. It's very dangerous.
You could make a video where you combine games. First fill truck up with a forklift. Then drive the truck to airport and fly it to somewhere. Then truck it again to trainstation and rail it to destination :) Edit: That game needs a TrackIr support :)
i think one word sums up what i just watched "different" lol have to say though its kind of interesting and looking forward to seeing more Paul please.
blitzkrieg459 Nowadays modern forklifts have Blue Spot or something like that. A light that projects a bright blue spot on the floor where the forklift will go so you can see it coming
love the travel with forks in the air so if you drop you pallet max damage is caused instead of travel low to floor to keep damage to minimum common sense and part of the forklift test
Technically, the first 'forklift' is a rider operated PPT. It should always be driven backwards (with the forks behind you) except when loading and unloading.
The first "forklift" isn't a forklift :P It's a pallet truck. They are pretty common in large warehouses. Argos use similar ones, but much longer forks. They can fit 3-4 pallets in one go.
Depends on the needs of the co. 3-4 pallets at once tells me your co. handles bulk pallets a lot. The pallet truck we use (Linde T1.8) can take up two Euro pallets at once as long as you approach them from the long side.
They replaced all our PPT's last year, and the guys in head office just ordered standard ones with 1.2M forks at .8M width. It wasn't until they arrived that they realised we needed longer forks at .5m width so we could move the half euros. Then they ordered those with standard length forks and were now stick moving one half euro at a time :/
You're driving this like a car. With a forklift you don't wide but narrow on the corners. That's something you have to get used to, but it's actually pretty effective.
hehe, i must comment, for me (as a warehouse storeman) this is a very entertaining video, haha, and in relation the the rear wheels being the steering wheels, you get use to it, and the high rise, yeah, thats scary, even just tilting the forks unloaded causes the whole truck to shake, haha
The worst one I ever had was a 1.5T pallet of flour at 6 levels up, and that was on day 1 of my trainings, it still scares me 5 years later, the wobbling on the mast still gets to me a little
@Daniel Coates Depends on the forklift you use. Most can handle it, but if you look closely at the load capacity diagram (which is on every forklift, mostly situated next to the joysticks), you can see how high you can rise a certain weight. Most forklifts used in FMCG are electrical forklifts (running on rechargeable batteries) which can take up loads from 1T to 8T. For example, an 8T Electric Forklift can take up loads of 8T up to 7300mm (7.3 metres high). But, what am I explaining, as a forklift operator you already should know this xD
Reminds me of all those videos of people knocking over those things in forklifts. lol. Agree with the other it would be awesome if they could implement something like this into ETS.
The forks are clearly to short the tips of the forks must come to the end of the pallet, what racking has a wooden floor normally you put the pallets down on beams!
The handle on the palletcarrier moves the wrong way when you turn. Think of it as if you where pushing a bike backwards by standing in front of it holding the handles.
i wish they put this in ets2, so that you can load you own trailer with pallets and other stuff, using forklifts and tractor to load. Also being able to unload and load when you've reversed into the delivery dock(loading from the inside of the building)
Squirrel I think the only way they could make it better is with hit boxes and better graphics. Plus I'd love to see more of this... Same kinda antics my dad must get in to at his work :P
I work in a warehouse with those little folk lifts, amd they should be driven backwards. Sounds silly but it should makenyou look like your pulling the palet. Try it
For a guy that initially thought this games kind of sucked, towards the end you really found it most challenging. I feelt he graphics were wonderful but more could've been done to pepper this with excitement. Perhaps a countdown time overlay, speed achievement reward, bonus sections, etc. Maybe even Mad Money coins for running over rats or avoiding debris littering the ground. But I feel passing through people like they were ghosts was a truly dumb idea. This tells the player it's perfectly fine to drive into humans - very bad! Also, traveling with forks raised high in the air is universal no-no for any warehousemen. We'd be fired at Amazon in a heartbeat for doing such.
Who ever made this game does not know what there doing. You do not use a pallet jack out on the floor with customers. That's not safe and you do not pick up pallets from the parking lot. You get pallets of trucks in the back of the store.
The key mapping is maby located in a config file, just look it up, in your documents or installation folder. Not that I own the game, just a guess. I actually think it can't be missing.
i think the only reason you have a littebit of hard time getting the pallets on and stay there is that you do it wrong, just lift it up, straight up, not more than you need, and then let it down again so it's almost touches the floor, and then maybe bring it back a little, but since it is a simlulator, it may have some wierd reactions to things, and i don't say that you are bad or anything, it's just the way i do it beacause i have a little experince with that kind of stuff :) not forklifts but..
I wish ETS2 had this aspect where you needed a warehouse and to move loads onto trucks, before driving them. It would be great for a multiplayer game... Sadly ets has neither
Interesting. Too bad you can't use the G27 wheel with this. You could then use the gear selector for Up/Down, Sideshift Left/Right and Tilt Forward/Backward. Some models of Hyster trucks used a single lever in just that way.
Paul. Believe me, it is much easier in real life. I do this job 8 hours a day. I can even make a little movie with my camera. Getting out a pallet from 10 meters. Tell me if you want that. It will be 1st person view with gopro
What's next, Simulator Simulator?
***** What about Simulator Simulator Development Simulator though? I thought that was planned? I've been looking forward to that for so long now! :/
Life Simulator?...... in real time.
Tax Payment simulator.

my thoughts exactly
Jay Ntn Ninjablunttoka thank goodness somebody said something, lol

its a shame that euro truck sim dont have the trucks with the forklift on the back and u had to unload the truck would be epic well i think so anyways
yes!!!
you can play construction simulator 2015

+Dasquirrelnuts when you drive a forklift you always carry your load as low to the ground as possible
Unless the load is way big and u cant see then u either reverse or lift higher so u can see were u going

I'v been waiting for Sys Administrator sim

Dammit Klaus! Seemed oddly fitting ;)
Fork Lift Driver Klaus - The first day on the Job

I literally just watched this on ImmortalHD's channel. The zombie DLC is amazing! Just run over zombies with a forklift.
As someone who drove a forklift, the only thing this video does for me is make me glad I went back to school.
I love it when squirrel says "nnnnnnnnnno" 😂😂😂
this game is pretty much my job last summer
The first thing I notice is people walking around everywhere is very far from realistic. You cant have forklifts and people walking around at the same place. It's very dangerous.

have to say though its kind of interesting and looking forward to seeing more Paul please.
You're supposed to honk your horn around corners. Idk if there is a horn in this game, but in real life, you'll get into trouble for it.
blitzkrieg459 Nowadays modern forklifts have Blue Spot or something like that. A light that projects a bright blue spot on the floor where the forklift will go so you can see it coming
This may be the case, but you should still use the horn when turning a corner, moving off with a load, or passing through a doorway
Squirrel, you're the only person I have ever known that gets extremely excited about forklifts.
love the travel with forks in the air so if you drop you pallet max damage is caused instead of travel low to floor to keep damage to minimum common sense and part of the forklift test
Can't wait for Simulator Simulator 2014!
if you get a warehouse job in real life you will be fired in 5 min.
Great game, I played it on my wedding night
This is my daily job haha. And Paul I'm sorry but you make it look so much harder than it really is
15:49 with trucks you don't use tilt straight off the shelf ;) literally pick it up and drive
Combine this with Eurotruck Sim 2, Train Sim 2014, Flight Sim, and Ship Sim. Make it MMO and World of Logistics is a go go.
Technically, the first 'forklift' is a rider operated PPT. It should always be driven backwards (with the forks behind you) except when loading and unloading.
u do no u drop the forks wen u have a pallet u dnt leave it in the air
The first "forklift" isn't a forklift :P It's a pallet truck. They are pretty common in large warehouses. Argos use similar ones, but much longer forks. They can fit 3-4 pallets in one go.
Holy shit
Yeah I've seen then!
Them things are great fun to drive, once you get used to the size of the turning circle, I still prefer to drive the reach over a ppt any day
Depends on the needs of the co.

Wow this looks epic!!!
really enjoy your videos! subbed
That first one is called a PPT. We have them at work and that model is very accurate.
I think I prefer the review over at Mack's Corner...
i watched someone else play this just wasnt the same without u squirrel lol
hehe, i must comment, for me (as a warehouse storeman) this is a very entertaining video, haha, and in relation the the rear wheels being the steering wheels, you get use to it, and the high rise, yeah, thats scary, even just tilting the forks unloaded causes the whole truck to shake, haha

Jeroen van Broekhoven it's above the windscreen on mine, both can do 1.4T to 5.4M :)
So funny! Please do more!
Awesome squirrel ! :)
Man I would love third person mode for when I'm out on my forklift
If I had the right set of controls, I could totally ACE this game! /Forklift operator
Next week, cleaning out the fridge simulator 2014. With deluxe version offering extra moldy cheese.
when you transport, drop the forks down, it makes transport safer for everything and everyone else
its kinda cool in the way, you get to see how your trailer is ets2 are loaded
Reminds me of all those videos of people knocking over those things in forklifts. lol.

this game is so good i want more of it
I like this game..did this job for 20 years...
With pallet wrapping machines in it too
I`d like to see a shopping trolley drifting simulator!
I work in a warehouse with those little folk lifts, amd they should be driven backwards. Sounds silly but it should makenyou look like your pulling the palet. Try it

Not that I own the game, just a guess. I actually think it can't be missing.
Not realistic enough though
Used to work with fork lifts and sometimes the pallet broke because the wood was just so old
U were in a shit warehouse mate. They should throw away broken and old pallets and get new ones or fix the old
my ambition is to be a driver of this awesome vehicles.this game inspired me more.
i saw that too it looks cool to me!
This is MAD!!! This completely. NUTS!!! 🌰🌰🌰🌰🌰 ( could be Squirrel Nuts 😁).
i think the only reason you have a littebit of hard time getting the pallets on and stay there is that you do it wrong, just lift it up, straight up, not more than you need, and then let it down again so it's almost touches the floor, and then maybe bring it back a little, but since it is a simlulator, it may have some wierd reactions to things, and i don't say that you are bad or anything, it's just the way i do it beacause i have a little experince with that kind of stuff :) not forklifts but..
Where I'm from we call the first machine a pallet jack.
i litterally work on one of those pallet trucks... and i hate that the steering is inverted😂😂
look all the pallets are real sizes they are like real euro pallets
The little man rider at the very start i drive at work, Also a reach truck haha Work for DHL :)
I work at exel logistics and I wouldn't mind having these kinds of forklifts
I wish ETS2 had this aspect where you needed a warehouse and to move loads onto trucks, before driving them. It would be great for a multiplayer game... Sadly ets has neither
Where's the eating breakfast and walking to the bus stop simulator?
Like it
they should add this sort of thing to ETS2 would be cool to load your own trailer
Counterbalance FLT is quite accurate. Thats my job
The truck in the first mission is a powered pump truck technically not a fork lift truck. And yes I hate that I know that.
I have to say so far the fork-lifts are realistic except when reversiing the first one the handle goes wrong way.
I do this for a living, don't diss it Squirell... ;)
That was strangely interesting haha
Lol squirrel wasn't even lifting the chemical right. He was under the entire pallet, not in it.
Interesting.
Too bad you can't use the G27 wheel with this. You could then use the gear selector for Up/Down, Sideshift Left/Right and Tilt Forward/Backward.
Some models of Hyster trucks used a single lever in just that way.
the first vehicle is called an electric pallet jack
Have you got the 100,000 sub play button yet
You Should Try Farming Simulator 2013
Paul. Believe me, it is much easier in real life. I do this job 8 hours a day. I can even make a little movie with my camera. Getting out a pallet from 10 meters. Tell me if you want that. It will be 1st person view with gopro
Yay awesome love dis thumbs up
That game is so funny to watch but i wouldn't spend any money on it, maybe if a friend had it or something I would play it haha!
you broke rule number one of transporting pallets by forklift lol you never drive with pallet lifted up
Play more of this Paul
