I'm only 5 minutes in but as someone who played multiple hours of the first Car Mechanic, the shopping list is a game changer, literally! No more note pad writing down parts I need, this is awesome!
I just played this for the first time today. It was incredibly cathartic .... Like ASMR. I'm a mechanic, and it's nice to see accurate game. It's all of the fun of being a mechanic (and some of the tedium) but none of the actual negatives. Played the tutorial, and the demo. So technically I fixed three cars without cutting myself, or banging up my knuckles, and I didn't have to worry about reaching anything. It was great. In fact, I liked it so much that, because I didn't have twenty bucks available IRL, I figured out how to edit the save, and gave myself some more money so I could fix up the junker outside the shop too. Wasn't able to paint the junker in the demo, or test drive it after. I'm definitely going to buy this the next time I have spare change. Even my newborn liked watching it. I grabbed the gamepad so I could play with him in my arms.
Mind if I ask about some of those negatives about being a mechanic? I grew up a hot wheels/nascar kid but am baaarely really getting into understanding/liking cars. What's it like, man? Might be something I could be interested in
@@TravellerBrianN That's only for the 2018 edition, and it's bugged because there are some items in the game from the DLCs, but those DLCs weren't released for Epic Store so the game will bug out.
@@RoyalDog214 Games don't "bug out" because they may or may not have DLC. You're just not getting the extra items from the DLC. Also from what I can tell the Epic version does have DLC as I've seen some items marked with DLC in game.
@@ghoulannabanana Dealing with shitty customers, dealing with shitty parts distributors, dealing with shitty car companies that make parts you can't fix yourself and need a specialist from the company to come in and fix (costing you extra $$$), dealing with the cost of parts and tools going through the roof, dealing with...people, really lol.
Yes plz do it i love mechanic sim and plz maybe make a some longer videos on this game like maybe 35 to 40 mins long i would love that and im sure many others would
This is pretty cool. Obviously, in real life, there's more unexpected things to deal with at times. The local parts stores in the area sometimes do not have parts readily available, so its important to leave the proper expectations with the customer. Also, this simulator basically swaps parts for you, but it doesn't get into the nitty gritty of how it actually gets done. That part of it takes skill & experience. This is a nice simulator from the employee's perspective. From the owners perspective, it doesn't get into the details of running a mechanic shop from a financial perspective.
The entire purpose of the lift is so you can walk underneath and easily work on the underside components. That's why they exist. 😁 They're very safe when installed and used correctly. We work underneath them constantly.
yea. there is a physical ratchet system in the towers that should the hydraulics fail on the lift it will slam against the last ratchet it crossed and stop the car from slamming down on top of you. to let the car back down you have to hold in a lever to disengage the ratchet so it can come down.
I hope you continue this series. This is probably one of those games that you need to grind hard to get to the top level 😄 keep up the good work trev. I'm a long time fan😁
Mechanic here. Id like to say thankyou for crediting us for the hard work we do and if your interested ask the next mechanic how they do their work on your car some appreciate it but some are having a bad day and need to talk a little.
I've always grown up loving cars and being a huge gamer and fan of your content for many years so I'm excited about this series! Started working on cars some years ago and have done just about anything from working at cars to building my engine for my Mazdaspeed 3. Hope you enjoy the game!
also trev, it’s all good you don’t know everything! being a technician has its ups and downs. Overall it’s a rewarding career at the right place. Cars today are very complicated and you need to be very good at electrical as well as the grunt work. Definitely not for everyone!
I’m getting ready to get go to school to be a mechanic and this game has actually helped me learn where parts are or the general area of where they would be. Also the function of the parts. I get stressed trying to figure out how to get to some of the parts though 😂
Your video is the main reason I bought this game. It can be very difficult to learn at my first time but once I get to know my way around the garage. It can be quite satisfying!
Definitely an awesome first part of CMS 2021, I'll have to get it for myself for sure eventually, thanks for sharing bro and can't wait to see the next episode of CMS 2021, till then. Take care.
On sale now on the Playstation store. Was thinking about getting this, as a way to learn more about cars. But. having NO experience as a mechanic - real life or in a video game - I wanted to get a preview of it. This is a great start for me, thank you.
Props my friend on knowing to mount the wheels with a star pattern lug approach. The purpose is to more evenly spread the forces on the wheel when installing to ensure an even fit. I’m kinda sad the game doesn’t have you torque things down. It’s one of the more important aspects to our work. Kind of a big deal 😝
Honestly, fuel pumps can be really easy to change, most cars I've done them on it's as simple as lift the back seat up and open the service hatch. on others you need to drop the fuel tank down though, that's not fun But great vid man! About to go watch the rest of them
i wroked at a trade school as a mechanic for 2 years and its pretty fun balancing and taking tires off rims but gotta be carful on newer cars cause youll damage a sensor near the air nozzle but older cars or trucks definitely easier for beginners or anybody who doesnt know what there doing
Trev your not the only one who doesn’t know anything about cars because I’m learning by watching you play this game lol🤣🤣🤣I’m going to trade school Tuesday might take on the automotive trade just to learn how to fix/diagnose cars
Nice clip. If I'm not mistaken, this is technically the 3rd release of the game, after Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 and 2018. Also it would be wise (if this game was more realistic) to drain the oil from a car before you unscrew the oil filter :) I'm a big fan of the series, it's very therapeutic to diagnose and repair cars from the comfort of your PC at home without getting your hands dirty lol.
I don't know much about cars but after playing PC Sim, I was able to get a feel of building a PC and understanding its parts. This game looks fun and I can earn a thing or two about car maintenance
Gameing simulator off the hook, great deal of contrast with good to decent graphics. Speakers entertaining , very few comments to say on his end . Than you very much
They should make a drug use simulator, like buying it, getting high, different drugs and prices, they could have a shopping list and tolerance level as a health bar or something
For anyone who doesn’t know. The first thing you should do when you load in is go over to the tool box and buy the tablet. It’s $500. But it right off that way you don’t have to go back and fourth buying parts. You can buy the parts you need while inside the engine bay without having to go back and fourth.
As a former ASE Certified Automotive Master Tech and Auto Shop Manager I would take you under my wing and train you if you want there TmarTN2 and help you build a top notch shop you can be proud of!
