Its best described like this; many of us including me every day, drive 'snooze mobiles,' modern cars that put our minds and posteriors to sleep. The Vantage is one of those rare cars that demand your energy, attention and sensory engagement, this is an exciting car...so lets escape the snooze and get some excitement in our lives!!
Very good commentary and I love the enthusiasm. I also have a black 2007 model and i find pretty much everything said is true. Had mine 2 years now. Definitely a drivers car.
The VH Platform on which all Astons from this era are built, was originally developed by Lotus. They’re known for building some of the best handling chassis ever made. Weight distribution is even and you find double wishbone suspension in all four corners. (The new double wish bone front axle is something the new 992 GT3 gets praised for currently as no 911 ever had it before). This superior chassis is the reason why Aston Martin won everything in the early 2000‘s in long distance racing including Le Mans also besing Porsches. On Top Gear the DBS went around the track quicker then the Zonda.
I couldn't agree more, this car demands and rewards your constant attention while driving. Very sharp, crisp handling car just shy of my Z06. Absolute joy to own and drive. Mine is a 2012 V8VS Roadster and it's everything I hoped it would be, and more!
In the market you could mostly find every time a AM Vantage but not a Porsche which are more on sale. So a bit frustrated between my favourite car and second choice to not find any 911 well specked and low mileage!

Either one will serve you well. The Aston is more gt and 911 handling is amazing. Aston sounds better
It would be nice to see someone drive the manual transmission.
