"Tombo in 7/4" is a song by the great Brazilian master Airto Moreira. Michael Camilo's version is beautiful too, but the music is by Airto. Anyway, thanks for the class!
So cool!!... Can I ask, does this groove fit in whne there's a full percussion section in the band? And, what section of the song is this played in?... Thx so much
Hi Alex Songo is a drum kit groove and unlike other Afro Cuban grooves it was conceived solely on the drum set by Chanquito with Los Van Van. It's common to have congas play with this groove.
@@rickdior OK, so it's not meant to be played on top of a full percussion section then... Right?... So, only congas, but not timbales, bongo and so on.
Songo mastery
You are such a wonderful player man, great work
Simply fantastic. Great lesson.
I like camera view behind right shoulder. Able to watch how fills are done.
Very smooth !
Durisimo!
Lovely. Thank you

Yes Davi, that's right ....on The CTI Fingers record. Camilo's version is much more intense. Thanks for watching
A drummer buddy i knew in jazz combos in college absolutely murdered that tune, so awesome to hear live
Amazing lesson, but needs more cowbell... 😂

You can play anything you want with it. There are no rules. You just would have to make sure things didn't get too busy.
@@rickdior OK got it... Thx so much Rick!!!
This confirms that you CANT have too many cowbells!!😵💫
